Had to do a non-daily first to get a better feeling for how it worked. My reaction is, it's fun but it's also A LOT to take in.

There's a certain wonderful simplicity to Wordle that has gotten destroyed by these dozens of variants.

I think having a better grasp of how the algorithm works (yesterday's monthly I was vaguely close with "receive" and wasted a bunch of guesses on receive synonyms which isn't really how the algorithm works) made it easier. There was some luck involved but yeah trying to make looser connections helped.

Semantle is interesting. Got today's word in 33. Perhaps I got lucky? After all, it is close to dinner time Not sure I really know the best strategy yet, aside from maybe trying to pin down the form of the word (e.g. noun, verb, adjective, etc). Not really sure how that works in the general case though.

Also yeah a big part of Semantle is familiarizing yourself with the algorithm, I feel. When the answer was surgeon I spent too long stuck at around 'hernia' by guessing other diseases.

With monthly my list of leads was like

Receive (did a bunch of synonyms for receive)
Pay (I started variants on being paid, ways to be paid, reasons you'd be paid)

That eventually got me to Stipend being closer which kinda got me thinking "oh it's related to a regularly occurring thing" THEN eventually "subscription" being super close was an "aha!" moment.

This time I was definitely not hanging on the first reasonably close word too precisely
