but yeah Higurashi marked my re-introduction into broader anime. Trigun/Hellsing/Chobits I watched while I was a little tot, plus however long I was watching Fox Box or YTV/Teletoon animes, but then then B8 got me on Higurashi and I binged season 1 in a day, which makes it the first anime I've ever done that for.

it's odd, I adore Symphonia and have always highly regarded the Tales series but I don't really feel nostalgic for them

maybe it's because I was kinda late to the party for Symphonia (my introduction to it was Zachnorn streaming it on stickam) but I still had experience with Phantasia during my ZSNES days

SC2 definitely nostalgia building up all Link's swords and going through that long story mode

a super nintendo rental I remember writing about in my grade 1 journal is an itchy & scratchy game

I thought Donkey Kong Country as well but also conflicted because I had a crush on Candy Kong in the SNES game but then holy shit they de-hottied her in the show

I was also kinda scarred by the episode DK loses his strength after his head is shaved and I don't really know why that had such a strong impact on me

also with DKC SNES particularly I remember going to a friends house whose mom used to babysit me and playing DKC them... they also had to call pest control for a raccoon while I was over, and I got a raccoon fridge magnet from them

also we had the DKC promo vhs as well as the more widely known Star Fox one, I particularly remember the DKC one showing off wireframe Diddy talking up the game's advanced 3D tech

Oh I played Flyff for a short period of time. I just learned that it went through a couple of owner changes, which led to purging all old accounts if you didn't migrate within a certain period of time.
