I never actually got this scene as a kid. I have no strong opinions of this guy, but I do think it's weird and interesting that FFVII acknowledges these weird sexual themes that none of the other games do. FFVII has this kind of gross grit to it, whereas you'd never see a character like this in like FFXV. Garnet becoming Dagger: A key moment of character development, and a neat way to integrate the player being able to name characters. Also includes the trope of a female character cutting her hair to symbolize growth. Whatever Thief (job): One of the more boring jobs, honestly. It's a direct translation of D&D 1e's thief class. You always get this early on in the job games, and it's always boring. The only interesting thing about it is Godspeed Strike in BDII, which is the easiest way to break the game. Fellows (FFIII) B8 FF Music Contest Zidane/Garnet Relationship Veldt: Great idea, but it's the most boring part of the entire game. I'm never happy to go to the Veldt. Everyone's got a little arc and does stuff the whole game, except Red XIII, I guess. Barret could have just been pointless after Midgar, but instead you meet his hometown, you fight his thought-dead best friend who just happens to also have this extremely rare surgery, and shot up a casino for literally no reason, and so on. Compare this to like FFIX, where Freya might as well not exist after her city, or Amarant might as well not exist at all. Its strength as a class is exclusively in its design, but it's still a weaker design than the black mage. Megaphones (weapon) Dancing Mad Dinosaurs (enemy) Berserker (job) Kingdom Hearts (series) SMFFFC Ultima Shinra Stairs Kuja: I know Kuja has his defenders, but to me, he's just sort of whatever.
