Not directly, one of my dad's friends had his son die of covid. Never knew him personally though. Also, while my mom didn't technically die of covid, the restrictions put in place made her dementia progress to the point where she died due to no one visiting her for 6 months. But, she was close to death anyways, this only speed up the process.

Yes, not very well though. They refused to get vaccinated and died in June.

Aunts ex husband's sister

I know people who had it and who nearly died. I also know people who know people who died.

I'm sure if I was older (or most of my peers were) or if I lived in one of the states that weren't taking shit seriously I'd be much more likely to know someone personally, but I've been lucky.

Yeah one of my bosses died to it. Not close by any means but she was really nice. Was a shame.

The woman who lived in the apartment next to mine. Not really close but she loved my dog and seemed to get great joy getting to pet her, especially after she lost her dog.

My uncle had it bad but thankfully recovered for the most part

My mom passed the day before Halloween last year. We have a memorial dinner planned for her coming up soon.

My dad went into the same hospital but he came back home. I think all of my immediate family has had it though my wife and I were never sick enough to get a test. It just bounced right off of us.

Yeah, my uncle was vaccinated too. Lungs still couldn't take it and he died last week. Funeral was yesterday.

Depends - I "know" people in that a couple of relatives of acquaintances died of it, but - knock-on-wood - no one I've actually met personally has died of it so far as I know.

I am somewhat lucky in that regard, in that I live in a country that mostly handled the pandemic pretty well (at least until the fourth wave) and I happen to live in one of the areas with the lowest COVID rates nationwide.

My older sister died of covid 7 months ago, she was only 32, no underlying health conditions. Couple of security guards at work also died from it, but they were in their 60s.

I'm not sure if that's impressive or sad, lmao. 1 out of 20 Canadians have had it so far. I can name at least 10 people that I know that have had it, and I'm don't really feel like I know a lot of people in general.

Not personally, but my mom's boyfriend's brother-in-law did, as did the aunt of one of my coworkers. Another coworker had a friend that ended up in the ICU, but he survived (last I heard, he was learning how to walk again). That's all I can think of off-hand.

One of my coworkers who didnt believe in vaccination for Covid-19 and had diabetes as a pre-existing condition. She was diagnosed on Friday and died on Sunday about a year ago. The worst part was that she left behind the two grandkids that shed adopted a couple of months earlier.

I actually don't know anyone personally that died of Covid, at least not yet.

sure I don't know a lot of people, but I do know some, including some americans, and there are lots of pathways whereby news of an infection could reach me, and that's on top of having a lot of coworkers. I have yet to knowingly encounter anyone who has had it or had news of someone who had it.

the only exceptions I can think of is that there may have been a random student at my nephew's school that was being tested for it, and someone I know thinks they had it in 2019 which I greatly doubt.

Anyway, learned my Cousin's Stepfather Died from it, so that's the only one so far...Also learned a few of my Family Members on FB got it, but recovered

Not directly AFAIK but my boyfriend's roommate's step-dad just died last week because of the damage covid left in his lungs paired with pneumonia.

We weren't allowed to. Basically by the time they set up video calls for nursing home patients she was already unresponsive. Then a week after she passed away.
