If I recall the pricing correctly, the DLC is the exact same price as an upgrade from a normal yearly membership to the expansion pack.

They are going to rope a loooot of people into that expansion pack artificially because it's just stupid not to go that route if you're playing AC, and thus are almost certainly already on a yearly online plan to begin with.

10/25 for the expansion pack.

update seems nice on paper, but honestly this stuff all should have been in at launch. Also it does nothing to alleviate my main issue with the game, that the island does not feel like a natural, organic town. Not even Gyroids are enough to coerce me back

Those new gyroids are sooo cute.

A bit bummed special visits to the Roost are amiibo dependent. Seemingly no working for Brewster either, but it's clear they didn't cover everything new in this video, so maybe.

16 brand new villagers is great, with a robot octopus! Hopefully they'll be fully integrated and thus available on nook miles/camping.

Looks like a ton new furniture. Weirdly though maybe no Nook upgrade? Maybe they just didn't show it.

Adding Happy Home Designer as DLC and then letting it integrate with your own island is way better than releasing another spin-off game. I'm curious what happens if you pay for new NSO, start playing the expansion, but then stop paying the fee. Hmm.

They showed a few of them briefly during the paid DLC portion, and then showed them all on the new Amiibo cards. And no there hasn't been a robot octopus before. There have been other robots, like a frog and ostrich, but this one is new.
