also today's Kapp'n island during the daytime took me to a night-time island that had a meteor shower going, neat

oh wow, Polishing got upgraded into something that I could actually use -- you can polish on more than just sparkles, but somehow just more generic effects like butterflies flying around an object, or cloud icy clouds, steam, or like static

the sparkles were honestly way to wild past level 1, and having just everything sparkling like that would be crazy so I thought it was a real whatever feature, but this is actually cool

I don't believe you have to give your villagers vacations in order to redecorate their homes. You just have to unlock the option by doing 30 vacations in general. Also there aren't any slots to reserve, since you can do houses for literally everyone. Each of the 48 plots can be re-used as often as you like, without deleting anyone else's vacation (in fact you can't delete anyone's vacation).

Ahh good to know. And about reusing slots, I assumed Id have to start kicking people off. So I guess the limit is just running out of villagers and Amiibos to actually give homes to.

She had a move-out the other day but missed yesterday for new neighbor recruiting, but today the plot's already been sold to Groucho I definitely had. I've heard empty plots can last a few days but for my sister it keeps getting taken up right away.

found a kapp'n island with stags on it so I'm finally hunting down those last 3 insects I've been missing (golden, giraffe, hercules)

been a while now but I at least found and caught my first golden stag... the other two so far really don't wanna show uppppp, meanwhile I got 2 horned elephants, 2 cyclos, and 4 rainbow stags

*edit* herculessss, after a 3rd elephant, 5th rainbow, 1st atlas, and another golden stag I sadly scared away :(..... GIRAFFE ALL THAT'S LEFT

Yes, the first batch came out back in, I think April. It was the same update that added those island brochures or videos you could make, that everyone immediately forgot about and I never saw anyone do. Then 2.0 added some new stuff.

Early access to the recipe book is the main thing. Also note that some of the recipes will be different from last year (I had to trade ingredients with one of my villagers because I havent planted carrots).
