I think the bigger offense related to this is that Hasan Abi asshole who lives extravagantly in a mansion while he's making millions of dollars a year being a champagne socialist coming back and acting like he's just living a modest life and is now telling people that socialism is just all about making money now.

Amusingly, I tried to change my twitch password and it kept telling me my new password was too weak but I didn't feel like trying to get a brand new unrelated password I would have to type in my ipad.

So I just left it as my old probably hackable password. Whatever.

+ backup, Miko uses Twitch a little more heavily and appears to have amassed 117k.
Both make significantly more off of Youtube superchats/memberships though.

No idea how much they even make from ad revenue and merch sale, but their merch always seems to sell out.

I'd wager that they get a small percentage of the cut from merch, but the girls should still be well-off anyway.

We kinda see that with youtube superchats as well though, Gura is outearned by Mori and Kiara and Lamy despite having 2m more subs.

I watch a lot of vshojo and I always thought ironmouse had the most reach. Although some of that has to do with that she often collabs with other content creators I watch too.

complaining about it doesn't mean they find it surprising. it means they want that dynamic to change. either for the base to have a larger variety of people, and/or for people to not gravitate subconsciously to people who look like them

My guess is if you include ALL streamers the vast majority is male, but when you start looking at top streamers it gets slightly more equal

But you're not going to change either of those things. Forcing diversity down peoples' throat will just push away people that don't buy into performative activism, and you're not going to change peoples' preference for enjoying watching someone they can relate to. The harder you try to push the agenda, the more it will push people away from minority streamers. I don't care what race/gender/whatever someone is as long as they are entertaining and playing games that interest me. One of the easist things you can do to get me to lose all interest is to spend your entire stream complaining about identity politics.
