You can't target body parts to lose weight

You either gain weight or lose it

Cardio
Lift weights

The important part is to work all your muscle groups

You cant target your belly. You need to lose weight, itll start with your face and legs and the last place youll lose it is your belly.

HIIT training instead of long steady cardio
heavy weight training

Make sure you eat well and sleep well. Reduce your calorie and carb intake and increase your overall protein intake

You can do sit ups and crunches also just tightening and releasing your tummy muscles.

You might think I'm joking here, but...well....seriously, sex (especially for women) is a great way to workout and women especially have muscles tighten/spasm while having orgasms and even during normal sex. If you use toys,hands/tongue etc you can make it last quite along time and both of you will burn a ton of calories (while having a blast) Sex is seriously the best workout.

Cardio of course is going to burn calories and def will help reduce a belly. That is what I'm doing mostly. Areobics, Beat Saber, jogging/running/biking/swimming all work well. For a fun community workout do water areobics if you can (also get to see her in a swimsuit that way!!).

Diet is also really important, make sure your burning the calories you consume and try and avoid too many carbs etc (for her).

I've lost 30 pounds now in 2 months and broke a bottleneck I kept hitting for the last 15 years or so. I'm 14 pounds away from my target weight. It gets easier the better shape you get in honestly.

Not joking about the sex though, if your not into her, and are just friends, you could still tell her about it. Heck she could use a sex machine if she doesn't want a guy (or hook up with a girl). Would still have the same effect and be enjoyable for her (they can be expensive but you can get a cheap one for like $300 I think).

Oh btw, I had visceral fat btw, which is why it was so hard to get rid of. It doesn't show up as much. I could tighten my stomach and take a hard hit that way. My arms/legs face etc didn't look fat. If you have that, it may take more effort to get rid of it, so don't get discouraged.

If you keep going, eating healthy, and working out, it'll go away.

Re-read your post and realized I think you meant losing belly fat yourself. So good luck to you both then!! If your both trying to lose weight and like each other (even as friends) try some sport like raquetball/tennis/basket ball etc. Swimming is GREAT after something like that as it can cool you off. I still recommend water areobics though, it's a great workout especially if you have extra pounds as first as it'll keep your body temperature down and let you work out harder without overheating.

This is my recommendation, if you want to loose belly fat, focus a lot on cardio at the beginning. You can start of to do a lot of abdominal exercises but the muscles wont be visible underneath the fat until you actually start to loose fat to some extent first (that is depending on how much belly fat there is and also if you want more visible abdominal muscles in the first place of course)

At the gym, I personally recommend starting with alternating between treadmill (60 minutes) and crosstrainer (20 minutes) every other day. So one day treadmill, next day cross training, then back to treadmill and so on.

Start carefully to go easy on your heart and prevent injuries, I suggest walking on the treadmill for 30 mins at 6km/hr setting then increasing the speed to 8km/hr for the remaining 30mins. Do this for a week then gradually increase the speed.
After 4 weeks of regular cardio training I suggest jogging straight away at 11km/hr to reach 10km/6.21mi well under an hour.

As for the crosstrainer, begin carefully and adjust the level so that you get a little resistance without overworking each stride.
If you get really sweaty and breath heavily at the end of the session youre on the right path, but stop exercising right away if you get difficulty breathing, get really dizzy, your pulse gets really high (well over 100beats/m) or if you feel chest pain. Also make sure youre well rested before each training session, this is really important.
After visibly loosing belly fat, then I suggest adding more abdominal exercises but dont forget to train the rest of your body as well.

I lost 16kg/35ibs in three months doing the treadmill crosstrainer combo but I also go straight to weightlifting after.
Also, as pointed out by others here, consume less calories and eat less overall, especially before the training session.
Make sure youre well-rested before each session, start carefully and then increase intensity.

I'm not doing this to get girls (mostly because I doubt it'll change anything in that regard), I'm just doing it for myself. As far as my friend goes, we went on a few dates and it didn't work out so I don't think getting in shape will change that, I kinda hope it does, she did say the only things I need to work on are talking more and getting in shape but I really doubt we'll ever be more than friends despite my fantasies

Running/jogging is not worth it

If using a treadmill, no need to ever go beyond 2.5-2.7 mph. Add incline instead of speed. 60-70% max heart rate
