Is there significant post-game content? Or would those extra hours (100+ vs the standard 40 or 50 hours) usually be culminated during the quest (side quests, item grinding, minigames)

In the sense that "post-game" means content intended to be completed at power levels well beyond what is needed for completing the game, FFX has a massive amount of post-game content. It's not for everyone though--postgame FFX plays very differently than storyline FFX, and there are some notoriously obnoxious minigames gating much of the content.

Thoughts on the sphere puzzles? What's the general consensus on those? I don't think they're too bad, but this pissed me off. Wasted 5 minutes running back and forth... just because you can't see the 4th and 5th and have to press a button while against that wall. PS2 cameras, lmao

Hit the 10 hour mark on my in-game file. Steam says 12 hours

I didnt really mind the puzzles, but I didnt love them. They were easy enough to not hold up mr progress through the game, but they felt a little unnecessary overall.

TBH I just had a YouTube playthrough of the puzzles on concurrently during all my PC version playthroughs. Also helped that it had a speed up function. They're just annoying IMO, mainly because of all the backtracking and pushing (among other things). They get progressively more annoying (read: harder) as you go through them.

And yes, this is where Yuna gets new Aeons.

Yeah I like some of the puzzles, don't like others. They're a nice change up of gameplay at least, plus you know you're getting a new Aeon. As for post game, there's tons but a lot of it is power leveling. First you'll want to unlock everyone's ultimate weapon, which varies on how hard they are to complete. Most people burn out on that stage haha.

The extra content I personally enjoyed was the side quests to get the 3 optional Aeons. Though those aren't post game if remember right.

I realized we were going to the temple to pray and train for the ultimate summoners' Sin battle at the end. And Yuna was doing her duties as one. I just didn't realize that the puzzle sequence = new battle monster. Didn't fully make that connection right away. I also noticed this on my own, have yet to die in a major boss battle (maybe once overall), and EVERYTHING'S FINE

you've probably seen Yuna get a new Aeon dozens of times and understood the full scope of it. I just fully realized the process on my third was trying to move on, that's why I got mad

I knew 80% of that and was enjoying the experience. Just didn't realize puzzles = new monster. Retrospectively I remember the first Besaid temple cutscene, where Yuna summons Valefor

Nope :D

Most of them are spheres

Except besaid where Yuna will have a Rod of Wisdom weapon with sensor and +Magic boosts which is her best weapon at the start for quite a while

Don't worry, you can do it later, it just means you have to do the whole trials again

Although you do get additional treasure for doing it a second time anyway so no big loss
