I had a Gamecube during that generation, and I'm trying to slowly go back through all the PS2/Xbox/Dreamcast classics. Final Fantasy X-X2 HD remaster... it looks amazing on PC. Like a PS3 or even a PS4 game in some places Has a really cinematic opening... can see where it influenced the next 20 years of RPGs. X is still probably my favourite battle system of any FF game. I think this is a bad idea for a first time player. A lot of the characterization is in the set path they are. Even down to their appearance/colour palette vs what class they are.
