took nearly a month apiece to finish. plenty of content

not so forgiving to 100% for X-2.
have to be perfect since there's missables.

Great game. Its extremely fun on replays as well, which goes against the trend for linear story based games. Its still in my top 5 favourite games of all time

Yeah.

He was by far my least used party member in my last playthough.

Save Kimahri's sphere levels until you can get a Level 1 Key Sphere then move him to "Steal" and "Use". Buy the Stunning Steel for Tidus and a bit later on get the TKO for Wakka, it's pricy but so worth it.

If you get stuck on a boss at any point, the ultimate fail-proof way to defeat the boss in question is to Zanmato it.

kimari basically isnt worth using. You can make him work if you try hard enough but hes so mediocre during the early/mid game and is the worst character in the mid/late game. Theres one time period between him unlocking some skills and another party member joining your team where you can make him shine, but he is immediately outclassed once this new party member join and is never relevant again. His Mighty Guard overdrive is his best one but its never really needed when you can just cast the relevant spells or use a different party member to get the same effect

Went in completely blind. I had a Gamecube during that generation, and I'm trying to slowly go back through all the PS2/Xbox/Dreamcast classics. Final Fantasy X-X2 HD remaster... it looks amazing on PC. Like a PS3 or even a PS4 game in some places

Has a really cinematic opening... can see where it influenced the next 20 years of RPGs. Still have no idea what's going on. Blitzball star, huge water bubble, sucked into world, now I'm looking for wood for my fire.

No, if you route him correctly he'll be fine early, fade a bit in the early midgame, dominate the mid-late midgame, and remain one of your most powerful characters into endgame. Only if you carry on to postgame (or do enough grinding that you could) will he eventually be eclipsed by the others.

If you haven't left Besaid already, make sure to poke around the village for Valefor's second Overdrive. You'll have to fight a dummy thicc optional boss by the time you're able to go back for it.

If you did original grid then follow the path it wont deviate till near the end of the game.

if you did expert follow the character archetypes

Tidus: speed and haste magics
wakka: accuracy and status techniques
yuna: white magic
lulu: black magic
kimahri: get steal then whatever you want
auron: strength and break techniques
rikku: speed and thief skills

Just follow the path. It'll branch out more at the end giving you plenty of options if you are using the original grid.

Also, when it comes to gaining exp, any character that performs an action in battle gets full xp. No divided exp on this game. If there is no action performed, they don't get exp. Something to keep in mind for boss fights and leveling multiple party members. I only mention it because it's not obvious and is pretty different than how every other rpg handles exp.

You will learn watch the same pre-boss cutscenes over and over again in the later half of the game.

IIRC you talk to a little girl villager and she'll mention something in her dog's mouth. Interact with the dog and you get the overdrive. It's kind of weird because Valefor is the only Aeon to have two overdrives and you're not given any indication that it exists. Unless like, some NPC summoner uses it and I'm just forgetting (understandable if I am, haven't played in over a decade lol). If you're not prepared for post-game content by the time you can return to Besaid then you'll have to fight an optional boss that will smack you around until you are ready for post-game content. That is assuming the remastered versions are the international version, I was never fully clear on that.

Thats debatable

The devs pronounce it as 'Tye-Da"

And no in game pronunciation is given

Then both "tee-dus" and "tye-dus" are used in official square media. Including Kingdom Hearts and Dissida

There really isn't a right answer, you can produce it however you like

Even "Tid-us" if you like since that's how its spelled

Edit: Think of it like how Jesus is called "Gee-suss" and "Hey-Zeus "

The original pronunciation is "Jesh-u-ah" yet both those others are still right
