Fuck, I wasn't doing the sphere grid right

Thought just going over them in the map would activate the power. Then I realized that wasn't happening... discovered the "use" feature. Think I got all of them except a few Tidus abilities... will I have to back track on the grid to get those? Can I only activate adjacent nodes? Thankfully I'm not very far. I'm in the jungle area and just fought that mini boss on the bridge (second location, after the ship wreck)

Yes but you can move 4 node spaces in one level if you're backtracking.

Yes

There's some specific spheres that allow acvtivation of certain nodes from anywhere and the abilty to teleport around the grid in various ways but you don't get them for quite a while.

Yeah, youll have to backtrack. Probably worth it since you are still early. At least when backtracking you move four times as far for your sphere levels.

You can unlock the node you are on and adjacent nodes using spheres. I usually level up 3 sphere levels at a time and it makes it pretty efficient.

Not sure what you mean.

If you mean sphere levels that's just how many times you can move. You get one when you level up from EXP.

If you mean the Level 1-4 locks you will find spheres that unlock them as you progress. They are just there to prevent you going onto other character's paths in the early game and lockoff strong abilities.

I just started playing this a couple of days ago lol (its my first time evar sans the demo I got from.. GameInformer??) I havent actually used any nodes at all tbh, that whole map looks so incredibly intimidating to take into account that Ive just been hoarding all my spheres

Its been fun so far, the game and the art in it is super pretty

the music too, Im in love with the music

Ah cool

You will find "Level 1/2/3/4 Key Spheres" as items throughout the game. Once a level locked node is unlocked once, it's unlocked for every character since they share the grid.

Some enemies even drop them.

Square Enix's trademark seems to be ultimately simple leveling systems that look needlessly confusing as fuck.

FF7 did the same thing.

There's no reason to hoard spheres. Almost every random enemy in the game drops them (2 for overkill) if you can level up stats, you really should. Especially strength for your fighters.

It's a scene where two people are dealing with really crappy situations that they have every right to be depressed about, but they're still able to make time to decompress and act silly even if it makes them look weird. I legit think it's a good scene.

The game is super easy. You can beat it without using the sphere grid at all.

I just would not reccomend that for your first playthrough

also its impossible to have a bad build. Everyone shares the same grid and everyone but Kimarhi has a path then you can do what you like with them.

Not really. There's not much worth buying and without spoiling There's other things you should save your money for.

I think O'waka has a sloowtouch sword which is kinda fun early

but really theres no point in buying anything from any shop. Save points heal you for free

I played FFX for the first time last year (and my first FF game), and thought it was amazing. I spent 70hrs on the game. The characters, story and gameplay (sphere grid) are fantastic. I played some of the mini games a few times.. but the controls on them are terrible, even on the switch they didn't really update it. Fuck Blitzball too lol

Did dab a little into FFX-2 and started again just recently with 2 hours, but its really hard to get into. There's not much of a story, and I really hate the random encounters. Getting used to the combat a little, but hate how there's no HP for enemies shown?

it's good especially for Wakka but not worth reloading over

Once you can play blitzball optionally, play the tournament that gets you Wakkas Attack Reels overdrive

Even if you hate blitzball do it . That overdrive very reliably hits the enemy 12 times . it's super OP

I found it more important for what traits weapons have on them when it comes on deciding what to use. Or does it have a lot of blank slots so I can customize it to my liking. Most games, I tend to set it and forget it when it comes to weapons/armors. This one I would keep a few options around depending on the area I was in and what I was trying to do.

Yeah you can just bring someone in, defend, then tag them out on their next turn and they all get EXP

Having several thiefs is also sweet. Im playing early post-game right now (not my first time playing X) and all 3 girls + Kimahri can steal. Makes it easy to level up all chars while getting yummy items for customizing gear and for Rikkus overdrive.

Nah. If you hate blitzball, don't bother.. The game is easy enough without any of the final overdrives. Same as some of the more frustrating ultimate weapons. fuck you lightning dodging, fuck you chocobo racing, fuck you butterflies, etcetcetc.

If trout feels like messing with postgame Monster Arena... I can see the merit for it.
