In Canada, everyone calls it Pop. In the UK they call it Soda or Soda Pop but in the US it VARIES..as some call everything COKE.....

So what do you call a generic soft drink that's high in carb and sugar?

I use "Soda" and "Pop" interchangeably. Seems about right given where I am on that map. (I still don't understand how someone could use "Coke" to describe all sodas instead of just colas.)

In New Zealand we tend to call it soft drink or fizzy drink.

The great thing about going to college in the middle of PA is the great heated debates everyone gets into over whether it's soda or pop. You see that definitive line straight down the middle of the state. I never heard one person say soda pop even as a troll response, it was that serious of a thing.

Umm, no we don't.

I'd say soft drink is the most common in UK. But more often than not I think we just call it by what it is

I live in the small area of Wisconsin that has rebelled and calls it soda.

Nobody calls it pop here.

I live squarely in 'Pop' country, but have always thought of it as a strange name. I say Sodapop, sometimes soda just because 'pop' sounds more like a sound effect to me.

I was checking that county map, saw where I grew up bright green and was like "ugh that must be the color for 'coke' stupid New Mexicans"

Then find it's the color for "other" and am very confused
