Both of my good bosses are gone now. 4 coworkers I liked are gone. The only people left are the users and manipulators. No longer get treated like a person, but am back to just being a tool to help take in more money.

The job itself has become insanely stressful to me. There are so many people travelling now. Tonight I went in at 6, and by 10 I had checked in more rooms than a normal 8 hour day. I was totally overwhelmed by people, and I cant handle that. It's been happening every Thursday-Saturday, Also on Mondays for another group(who cause problems).

I'm just exhausted mentally and physically, even though it's not a physically intensive job. I don't want to go back. I want to straight up quit.

...but knowing myself like I do, I wouldn't have an easy time finding another job. This income has been fantastic, and losing that is literally the only downside to quitting. It's a big downside though, there's just so much else that I can't stand any more that I'm not sure it's even worth it.

I'm gonna go to sleep now, just got home from work and I'm wiped out. Will check back later. Thanks.

I can't imagine they're paying you all that much. You can probably find something comparable elsewhere.

That sounds like hell for your mental health.

I can feel really shit on my job sometimes when I don't have anything meaningful to do or when I feel lonely at work.
I mean, I don't have any bad coworkers, they're all either nice or indifferent towards me.
But more often than I'd like, I don't have anything to do I end up just wandering around.
And when I don't have anything to do, I'm not distracted from my depressive thoughts and I get feel really bad.
I start to hate myself and I think how much people must be annoyed by my presence.

I see how everyone is busy working their asses off and I'm just walking around doing absolutely nothing of value.

I feel worthless. It feels like no one needs me.

My boss knows I have a Aspergers diagnosis and he allows me to chill for a while when I don't have anything else to do.
Now that's awesome. That's how you treat your employees and especially if they have a diagnosis and have certain needs.

Even though how shitty I can feel, I'd still prefer having a job and feel bad or stay at home and still feel bad because I'm not doing anything with my life.

You can still look for other jobs while you're still on your current job. That's what I probably would've done.

Sorry for my long and incoherent post.

I've always been of the mindset that you don't leave a job without securing another job first. Tidy up your resume and start looking, but if the job is that stressful for you, you should leave.

I can't determine for you how much stress is manageable. You know yourself and your limits better than anyone. If you can hang in there long enough to find another job first, do it. But be mindful of your mental health. If you feel overwhelmed make sure you take care of yourself first and foremost.

I really want to take a bit of time between jobs to recover. Don't want to leave this one out of stress and tiredness and go straight into the stress of a new job.

Also, apparently I'm the only one who knows my other boss quit. I'm sure some are suspecting it as she didn't show up yesterday(citing the stress and untrustworthiness/dehumanizing nature the place has developed). But they still have her on the schedule, and without her it doubles my work each day, which will make things impossibly difficult this weekend.

They did hire some new help, but they're not ready to pull shifts on their own.

I've been dealing with some medical stuff on my own which is part of why I'm so tired I think. Plus gotta help dad with his doctor appointments and getting his prescriptions. Feels like I'm mostly carrying this place on my own, plus I have to pick up everyone else's slack.

I simply don't know how much more I can take. I know I need to keep working, but it feels like it's killing me to do so. The thing is, with the new hires, things might balance out a bit in a few weeks and I have vacation time I want to use but I'm just not sure I can make it through another week, especially without my good manager. This just sucks.

You should still start looking. If you can afford to take some downtime between them, do so, but quitting this one without having another one lined up is risky, financially. Regardless, it sounds like you should be quitting this one.

When you're looking, make sure you use your old boss as a reference instead of your current ones. By the sound of what you said in other topics, she was a pretty good boss and really valued you, so she'll make a good reference.

Definitely. She already said to put her as a reference and she'd help me out. My other manager would too if I asked. They were the best bosses I've ever had, and it sucks that they're gone now. They both treated me as a person, and seemed to care about our well being as employees over just dictating what needed to be done to get $$$. I guess that's probably part of the reason they fired her, since she wasn't exploiting employees and guests for as much profit as she could.

The current boss has seen how busy our weekends are, and has nearly tripled our rates because he knows people will be desperate enough to pay them. No one is happy about it except him, the guests feel ripped off, we get cussed out and argued with, but he's lining the company's pockets so that's all that matters I guess.

Quit the job and go full time in job search mode. People often say its best to have another job lined up before you quit (good from a financial standpoint) but this can be near impossible if your current job reels you in from the moment you get up til the moment you get home. I use to get up at 730 shower/eat/drive to work and start at 9. from then id get off at 530 get home by 615. eat/do whatever house stuff there was and by the time i knew it had an hour or two left for me just personal unwinding (TV/Videogames/exercise).

I and others told you weeks ago when you mentioned these changes happening to start looking for another job.
So no, not gonna convince you to stay when based on all your posts there doesn't seem to be much reason to do so.
This is a rare moment where employers are desperate to get people back working and you see higher wages offered for lots of positions plus way less competition for the jobs. If you're ever going to leave, now is the time.

True. When I was mired in the Great Recession, people told me to just get any job I could, even Walmart bottom level employee. And I refused, then I'd be too worn out and have too little free time to look for a job. Held out for at least a decent temp job.
But I was at least getting unemployment at the time.
Having no income at all is rough. Maybe TC can demand to work a lighter schedule, then he has more time and isn't too burned out to look? They shed a lot of employees so maybe he has some bargaining power. If not, then maybe it leads them to firing him over it and he can potentially get unemployment...

I had considered that, but they both live an hour away on the opposite side of the town I work in, and I live 15. I don't think I can swing a 2.5 hour round trip just getting to work and back if they find jobs close to their home. Plus it may even be a job further on the opposite side, so it's looking unlikely at this point.

Plus, without my manager to run the other hotel, I'm gonna be stuck running both sold out hotels on Friday and Saturday. One is bad enough, but now I'll be expected to get about 200 rooms checked in on a single shift. Not to mention the errands like bringing people towels and extra pillows, and answering the phones while I'll have a huge line of impatient people in front of me.

It's too much.

First tons of jobs are paying way more and desperate for workers. Walmart is paying $18.50 base (more with experience), many fast food jobs are starting at $18 as well, and those are absolutely rock bottom positions needing no experience etc.

You have experience, so you can probably get something making over $20 an hour pretty easy. You also don't need to start right away, but I would try and get the new job before unemployment ends September 2nd and all those people start looking for jobs.

Best to look for a job now, but give your notice alread for this one, and have a start date on the new job at least a few weeks after this one ends (so you have some me time).

I don't know how much your making (if your comfortable letting us know that would be great) but from other posts I've seen of yours I get the impression that even making $18 an hour would be enough to pay your bills. Heck, you may even be able to do that part time.

There are certainly MANY jobs out there that will be less stress that you can do, quite a few will not even have you interacting with other humans.

Right now, for the first time in a very long time, it's an employees market, there are tons of positions open and many will pay for your training (And pay you to get trained etc).

I'm working as a HCA (Home Care Aid) and while the pay blows (only 16.75...literally fast food jobs pay more right now), I feel like i'm making a difference. In addition there are 75 hours of training you usually have to take (and pay for) before starting...but due to covid THEY pay for the and pay for your time taking them, in addition you can start working (like I have) before even doing the training.

You might consider a similar job near you, there are HCA companies everywhere, basically your job is helping elderly/disabled people do daily life tasts (shopping, getting dressed, bathing etc) and keeping them company etc. You actually make a positive difference in peoples lives while making more then enough to live on.

You won't get rich doing the job, but you'll feel good about yourself and the things you do every day, it's low stress, and often even fun (Like I mainly watch the news with my first client in the morning every day).

Don't stay at a job you hate right now, there are just too many better options.

I'm making just a bit above minimum wage. That was raised to $9.00 a little bit ago in VA. I'm making $10. The Walmart in town is hiring starting at $11 I believe, but it's for stocking jobs and I do have some painful issues with previous injuries that make jobs like that less than ideal.

Jesus, i don't know how anyone is doing any of those jobs in your state right now. Maybe VA is one of the states that stopped the extra benefits already.

The benefits that will run out in Sept, are base unemployment (usually about $200 min) + 300$ per week.

$500 min a week basically, for not working at all.

That has caused places near me at least to pay way more then min wage (which is 13.50 here I believe).

It sounds like that might not be the case there though, which is weird since the basic reason for it should be universal.

I looked up a few jobs for you really quick (don't know your exact location) but these are in your state and you should be able to find something like this. All of them are paying significantly more then your current job.

There are just too many good jobs so I just posted the link to all of them at the bottom. There are a freakton of jobs paying over double your current salary for entry level positions.

Honestly from the looks of things you should be able to get a job that pays more then your making while only working part time. Only minor problem would be if your in a small town with no empoyers near you, but honestly even then there are a ton of jobs that are remote (work from home) that STILL pay more.

Honestly it may not be as high as around here, but it's WAY easier to get jobs right now then it ever has been before. You could probably get a salaried position paying 35-50k a year since you have at least some experience in customer service and at least 2 good references from your previous bosses.

Worth a shot at least!!

Ok, so far it's looking like this week won't be too bad. I'm still stuck running both hotels, but checking this weekend's reservations it's looking normal rather than sold out.

I would put in for my vacation next week, but I just realized it's the 4th of July. I wouldn't get it approved on a holiday. Maybe the week after, if things are still going ok and I'm still here.

@wolfy42 has helped me a ton already. Gonna be looking into what he suggested during this time as well. That way maybe I can be at least partially rested up and ready to move on when I find another job.
