These are the current Steelers players on the trade block for cap purposes.

G Dockery (91 - 33 yo) - 124 Blocks / 19 Sacks (6.53 ratio) as a Steeler

WR O'Neal (85 - 33 yo) - 2330 Yards / 177 Rec (13.2 YPC) / 14 TDs over 4 seasons

CB Parrish (82 - 31 yo) - 163 Tackles / 2 FF / 3 FR / 12 INT / At least 1 INT for 8 consecutive seasons (Those are career stats, drafted as a Steeler)

DE Freeney (90 - 33yo) - 198 Tackles / 36 Sacks / 2 FF / 2 FR / 1 Safety in 5 seasons

These have all been solid starters for me. I'm only moving some of them due to the salary cap, I'd be keeping all of them if not.

Additionally the following are available but are more budget type players that probably won't generate much interest and have been backups plus my kicker

C Elflein (79 - 23yo - RFA eligible next season)
OLB Paige (75 - 25yo)
K Carpenter (88 - 30yo - 78.1 FG% over 6 seasons but 71.4% over the last 2)

Guys the Bills would be happy to trade:

85 OVR WR Jordy Nelson - 30 yrs old
88 OVR WR Ernie Wheelwright - 34 yrs old

84 OVR QB Jimmy Clasuen - ???
87 OVR HB Lamar Miller - 27

82 OVR MLB Corey Nelson - 27
82 OVR SS D.J. Swearinger - 28

I'm sure there are a bunch of other guys we'd be willing to deal as well if the offer is right.

Trade

Patriots receive:
DE Paul Freeney (90 overall, 33 years old)

Steelers receive:
Patriots 2nd round pick (45th overall)

Steelers incur a $3.44 mil cap penalty to shed a $7.34 mil cap hit

Pats assume a $5.62 mil cap hit

The Pats just lost Hall of Famer Mathias Kiwanuka to retirement. They have perennially had a good-to-elite defense on the backs of a formidable DL. While Freeney is 33 (DL age worse than any other position) and is just an average pass rusher (6.3 sacks per season), he has started 141 games in his career, appears to be an above-average run defender, and is 90 overall, which is high enough to be able to take the incoming sharp aging regression.

The Steelers have cap issues and decided to sell high on Freeney and get a Top 50 draft pick.

Both parties demonstrated that they understood what each team was giving up and receiving, the financial impact, what both parties hoped to achieve, and I have faith that Freeney's history was in the conversation between the two.

This trade is now official.

The Chiefs are looking to trade the 7th overall pick for a future 1st (plus more depending on your teams outlook)

We would also like to move our 3rd round pick (71st overall) for more 4th/5th/6th rounders

Trade

Chiefs receive:
Bears 4th round pick (102nd overall)
Steelers 5th round pick (147th overall)
Giants 6th round pick (164th overall)

Steelers receive:
Chiefs 3rd round pick (71st overall)

Chiefs wanted to trade away a non-premium pick for several later ones for cheap depth while the Steelers felt they had more picks than they needed.

Both parties demonstrated they understood what each team was giving up and receiving and what they hoped to achieve with the trade.

This trade is now official.

Chiefs S17 7th round pick

Chiefs Receive:
Patriots 7th round pick (205th overall)
Bills S16 1st round pick
Bills S16 2nd round pick
Bills S17 2nd round pick

The Bills are looking for an impact rookie and are willing to trade three future premier draft picks for the opportunity.

The Chiefs are looking for cheap depth this season and can use the draft picks next season when they expect their cap situation to be better and have more assets to make a move if they wish to make significant changes to their roster.

Both teams demonstrated they understood what each team was giving and and receiving and what each team hoped to achieve. This trade is official.

Live NFL Draft

This is a 7-round affair where teams select college players. There are 32 picks in each round for a total of 224 selections overall. We break this down into three real-life days. Rounds 1 and 2 are on the first day, rounds 3 and 4 are on the second day, and rounds 5 through 7 are the final day. The draft takes place in the spreadsheet as that is where all the info is, and I totally failed in my lone attempt to do a draft in both the spreadsheet and Discord.

In one of the posts below, I will include the draft order again as well as updated draft pick ownerships. I only include ownership of other teams' picks. If you wish to attend the draft at all, I require that you own a Google account and either PM/DM me or post here the email associated with it so that I can include you as having permission in the spreadsheet and you can sign in and enter the chat function which is located near the top right of the spreadsheet. Most of you have done so in previous years, but there could be a few people wanting to attend this year but have yet to receive permission. You must be on a desktop/laptop to access the chat function.

NFL Draft Rules

1. When it is your time to pick, type your selection in the spreadsheet

2. There is a 5 minute pick limit, which starts when I say something along the lines of "X team is on the clock"

3. If no pick has been made after 5 minutes, I will select the player for you

4. If a user is not present at the time they are on the clock, they will be auto-drafted via rule #3 until they notify me of their return

If I can't or don't want to be here for the draft, what are my options?

Queue - You give me a list of players in order of priority. It can be as few as one and as many as the 250+ prospects that will eventually be in that sheet.

Draft Strategy - You give me a vague or specific set of instructions on how to draft your players. An example of this would be
Draft best available CB in 1st round
Draft best available player in 2nd-4th rounds
Draft best available player for a position of need in 5th-7th rounds.

Conditionals - You give me a list of conditionals. Unlike the other two examples, this one is best used if you only think that you will be unavailable for a single round. Using WR Tyreek Hill as an example:
1. Draft WR Tyreek Hill
2. Draft the best available DE with a 1st round grade
3. Draft the best available player for a position of need

Even if you plan to attend the draft on any or all days, it would really help me out if you send me something from the above list.

So the draft runs as smoothly as it possibly, I create a spreadsheet where I create detailed draft plans for all user teams in case I have to draft for them. If I am given a strategy/queue/conditional (especially one that encompasses the entire draft) from a team, then I do not have to waste my time and effort for said team. Please do this as having to come up with draft plans for 22 user teams would possibly take me 10+ hours to do.

Trade

Pioneers receive:
G Cedric Dockery (91 overall, 33 years old)

Steelers receive:
LT Cyrus Kouandijo (83, 25)
LG Joe Thuney (78, 25)

The Pioneers will incur a $350k cap penalty to turn $2.76 mil in cap hits into a $7.06 mil cap hit.

The Steelers will incur a $1.41 mil cap penalty to shed an $8.47 mil cap hit into $2.41 mil cap hits.

The Pioneers have plenty of cap space and with no picks before the 4th round, they can easily fit Dockery into their budget. Even with incumbent Clay Schneidmiller coming off of a good rookie season, Dockery is just on a one year deal, so the former's developmental shouldn't be stalled, just delayed. Even so, Dockery is a good guard that is worth giving up young, cheap OL depth.

The Steelers mainly did this as a salary dump as Cyrus and Thuney have limited experience in the league, but they do fill an additional hole and given that the Steelers only have two surefire starters on the OL, perhaps they can carve out a significant role here, even if just for the one season.

The Steelers understood the parameters, financial impact, and the past history of players. This trade is now official, even if it isn't reflected on the spreadsheet.

Trade time!

Lions receive:
Pioneers 3rd round pick (96th overall)
Orcas 5th round pick (138th overall)
Orcas 6th round pick (170th overall)
Orcas S16 2nd round pick

Orcas receive:
Lions 2nd round pick (41st overall)
Lions 4th round pick (105th overall)
Lions S16 7th round pick

The Lions covet Day 3 picks to cheaply fill out their roster, and so they get a pair of them, a future 2nd, and a small Day 2 tradeup in exchange for their second this year.

The Orcas give up more future draft capital for picks now as they wish to get the major part of their rebuild done now with six of the Top 64 picks. With the club expected to continue having future financial flexibility, losing out on a major benefit of the draft won't be as big of a loss for them.

Both teams understood the parameters of the trade and what they hoped to achieve. This trade is now official.
