I think it's Mega Man for me. It's not my favorite but they just make so many damn games. I've played 1-11 and X1-X8, so that's 19.

Mario would win depending on if you count stuff like All-Stars/Super Mario Advance, Yoshi's Island or spinoffs. But personally I'd only count:

SMB1, 2, 3, LL, SMW, 64, Sunshine, Galaxy 1 & 2, 3DL/W, Odyssey, SML1+2, NSMB1,2+Wii, Mario Maker 1 + 2

Wait, now that I write that out it's also 19, wow

I've got like 15 for Zelda but I'll spare you me writing them out

The Elder Scrolls- I've played 3, 4 and 5.

Probably Final Fantasy. I've played every main series game (minus the online ones) and a majority of the major spin-offs and handful of the more obscure ones. There's other series I've played most the games in too, but I'm pretty sure FF has the most.

Definitely Sonic. Giving it some thought I'm up to 25 titles played (not necessarily beaten), with 2 more on the bucket list.

Hell forget whether spin-offs count, I don't even know what counts as a spinoff. I listed MM and MMX together obviously but you could say they're two different series, but they're also like... both under the "big" Mega Man series umbrella IMO

And maybe Mario Maker is a spinoff but it's still a platforming game so I think it fits in more with the other Mario games than like Mario Party

Mario for sure. Probably followed by Final Fantasy. Zelda's gotta be up there in the numbers, along with Pokemon, SMT titles, and the Yakuza games. Dragon Quest too.

GTA, and any long running fighting series like Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat are probably high on the list too.

"2K" titles and Mega Man are going to make a lot of lists just on sheer numbers of releases, but neither were really my jam.

Beyond that, off the top of my head I can't even think of any other series that are going to have more than 5 or 6 games in the lineage. There's probably a few I'm overlooking...Tales of maybe? Ace Combat is up there in the numbers. I'm sure there's JP only dating sims or Mary Kate and Ashley games that have like a dozen games but won't make too many lists. Smash Bros? Has that even had a lot of iterations? Are we counting Mario Cart and Mario Party as seperate from the "Mario, Mario" games?

Might and Magic. I've played and beat 3-10. (I guess I've also played 1 and 2, but didn't get anywhere.)

MM I've played the 12 (?) classic games, at least 5 from the X series, all the Z series, ZX, MMBN 1-5 + BCC, Soccer, MMxSF, and... well, I guess that's like 30?

Pokemon I've played at least 1 mainline game gens 1-8. I've played the alternates, but I don't know if I should count those. I've played may of the spinoffs, and... idk, all things considered, that could also be close to 30. idk, that one can be hard to calc.

Mario is also hard to calculate, but I don't think I've done enough, even if I count Mario Kart and Mario Party.

FF is probably fewer than 20. That one I can rule out.

Mega Man. I played a bunch of the old GB games as a kid. And then all the main Battle Network series on GBA. Battle Network alone is like 10 games including different versions. Also did some of the Zero series on DS. I skipped Star Force series though. If I hadn't stopped playing Pokemon after gen 5 it would have been that cause I played every version except Yellow, Silver and SoulSilver up to then. That's about 15 titles but still less than Mega Man.

I have pretty much played all of the Mario, Zelda, Mega Man (except 11 and some of the Battle Chip games), Final Fantasy (except 11, 14, 15, and Tactics), and Assassin's Creed (except the latest) games. I guess take your pick which has the most games, just because I can't be assed to try and count them.

My guess would be Mario, since every Nintendo console has at least 1 (most have 2-3).

Mario - Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Super Mario Land 3: Warioland, Super Mario 64. So 7.

Final Fantasy - FF1, FF2, FF2/4, FF3/6, FF7, FFX, FFX-2, FFXI. One more than I thought, for 8. Looks like Final Fantasy takes it, because I can't think of another franchise with double-digit games that I've played.
