Except that one E.T. game from the 80s. RIP. We gotta do something about these movie games.

It's not hard to replace a battery in a Nintendo cartridge. I just use tape for the handheld carts... (so far on 2 of em)... but the SNES aka Super Famicon.... (JP name for SNES in EU/US/Brazil/Etc)... and after decades of gaming, I finally figured out what the Nintendo super-nerds were talking about). Calling a SNES a "Super Famicon" is weebo try-hard..... Video games and Anime aren't the only things that are Japanese!!! Try harder!

Discs on the other hand.... more difficult to maintain longevity. Once it gets scratched up there's only so much resurfacing ya can do with those cleaning tools ya done bought at the store.

PS5 being all progressive n shit with their NO-DISC CONSOLE... while the new xXboXx Series 1X 5000 is going hard on backwards comparability.

The problem with xXboXx is when Playstation gets an exclusive from Japan. Then it is a hard sell.

Agreed.

One drawback to digital I've found is with licensing. A couple weeks ago PSN was down for a few hours and I couldn't play any digital games - even offline, singleplayer games - because PSN couldn't verify my licenses or some shit. Emailed Sony about this but I don't expect a response.

When convenience turns into unreliable meat-shield. Physical could possibly break at any random point... but at least with Analog equipment... it can be salvaged or repaired.

Steam is chill. The founder dude be one of them old school super-nerd types. The systems don't drastically change all the time into something unfamiliar. I have quite a few games on Origin.... haven't touched it in 2 years since Battlefield series turned to shit.

Personally I have never cared for digital games because to me it doesn't feel like you own digital games whereas with the physical disc, you own it. With digital games you also need enough hdd space to store the games and that can take up a lot of space.

Overall, I just prefer physical copies. Unless its a digital game thats on sale or that I cant get anywhere else, Ill usually opt for the disc version.

Some games require a content download, regardless of a disc, and won't even work. So in theory they're just a digital game you need to put a disc in to use. That's only going to get worse as companies push more towards all-digital. Modern Warfare and Control UE flatout will not work with just a disc.

Eh, I regret going mainly digital last gen for my PS4/Xbox One. This gen I'm going for physical when I can.

PSN sales are still nothing compared to physical sales imo. And it's so much easier to share games with friends with physical.

Veedrock- posted...

One big drawback to this is that only one account per system can play your owned games.
For example, I shared digital with one of my friends, and now my SO, friends, etc. can't play my digital games unless they are logged into my account. Meanwhile you don't have to worry about that at all with physical.

I can think of a few. You have to be online to download the game (though you can play offline). But I can buy physical and play without going online for most games (like Nintendo). Also, steam in the only thing that for some reason took away my ability to play one of my games. And cause me to have to change, uninstall, reinstall, and other stuff to play a game a couple times. I just wanted the dicks to not be censored like before, and it took some time...
