I can think of a few. You have to be online to download the game (though you can play offline). But I can buy physical and play without going online for most games (like Nintendo). Also, steam in the only thing that for some reason took away my ability to play one of my games. And cause me to have to change, uninstall, reinstall, and other stuff to play a game a couple times. I just wanted the dicks to not be censored like before, and it took some time...I think I have been without internet for an hour for a day in the past 5 years. If the download goes away, you dont own it anymore. As far as I know, when a game is delisted you can still download it if it's in your library. There are exceptions (P.T., for example. Though that was a free demo and arguably doesn't count) but for the most part if the online store is there your library is always available. If that online store goes away for some reason, however... That'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Are there any examples of a digital game store going under, and what happened to people's purchases? --- https://imgur.com/ZwO4qO2 "Far-Queue is probably one of the least troll-like of the posters here." - LinkPizza ... Are you claiming Steam doesn't let you play offline? Because I know that it does. No, they're claiming digital consoles can't play offline which is wrong. Xfma100 posted... For example, I shared digital with one of my friends, and now my SO, friends, etc. can't play my digital games unless they are logged into my account. Meanwhile you don't have to worry about that at all with physical.I still have my personal Xbox set as home so I don't have this problem locally. My brother and I share by logging into each other's accounts when we wanna play the other's games, which does mean we can't play shared stuff simultaneously like most sharing situations but we're ok with that. We live 2000+ miles apart so sharing physical games is not convenient, plus we can share DLC this way too. kukukupo posted... 1. If the download goes away, you dont own it anymore.1) There's no example of this on modern systems. Even the Wii, which shut down its store in 2019 after giving over a year's notice, still lets you download purchased games. Plus, as long as you keep a copy of the game locally of course you still own it and can play it. How's that any different than keeping a disc? 2) You can do this with digital too; in fact you can play the game on two consoles at the same time, something you can't do with physical. You're not restricted to same household either, if desired. === For gamers thinking they're smarter than the average person they sure do embrace misinformation as long as it suits their narrative. --- My friends call me Vee. I think I have been without internet for an hour for a day in the past 5 years. Sure. Though, its not like that for everyone. I havent had internet for over a week because of the recent storm. So, if I wanna download a game, I would have to find some where with Wi-fi. Which would probably take forever to download... Veedrock- posted... The physical thing works for me, though. When I visit home, Im able to share with my little brother. I do it a lot. Plus, it sounds like you normally need internet or whatever to share, and play shared games... --- Official King of Kings Switch FC: 7216-4417-4511 Add Me because I'll probably add you.
