She was the only good and relatable character in that dumpster fire of an anime, but everyone else was too busy thinking with their penises and preferred Zero Two over her. Some of those psychopaths even sent Ichigo's voice actress death threats over a certain episode despite Zero Thot actually doing much worse than Ichigo ever did.

Prompto in FF15. I didn't think he was as annoying as most people thought, and he had more depth than any other party member (even though there wasn't much in the game fwiw).

Like might be a strong word, but Bubo the owl from the original Clash of the Titans. He's mildly annoying, yes, but he earns his spot in the movie when he stands up to the Krakken at the end.

I think more people than not would've rather seen the princess get eaten by the sea monster than have to share credit for her rescue to a mechanical clicking owl.

Lola Bunny

Furries want her. Everyone else hates her.

A common criticism is her being a generic girl power character whom nothing bad happens to, but she does get hit by the Monstars the same as the male cartoons do.

The other criticism, which is much more reasonable, is that she isn't funny like Looney Tunes characters are supposed to be. I guess I get that one. But they weren't trying to retroactively make her a classic Warner Bros. character when she wasn't. She was 90s all the way.

I have never met a single person in my life who even mildly disliked Lola Bunny.

As much as I hated TLJ I actually liked Rose Tyco. (Well, that bit of stupidity at the end of the movie notwithstanding. But everyone in TLJ was brain dead)

I didn't like like her, although I did think she was Ok. Her scenes were pretty amusing. There were far more annoying characters in that game to hate over her.

I don't mind Hope's arc in Final Fantasy 13. It's been a while, but isn't one of the main complaints that Hope tries to stab Snow after he saves them both from the cops or whatever? Hate doesn't disappear because someone does you a solid. It doesn't matter if the person you hate doesn't realise or understand why you hate them. The pain Hope felt over his mother's death led to a desire to kill Snow for it, and it took time for him to mature and look past that.

I think Hope was realistic in that sense. He didn't comprehend that his mother gave her life to the cause, and he attributed blame to Snow in response. He should have known better, but he didn't because he was a traumatised kid who watched his mother die. After being validated by Lightning - and subsequently trying to get talked out of it by Lightning once she had her own character growth - Hope steeled himself to kill Snow out of hate. I don't think that's as cringe as everyone makes it out to be.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I 'like' Penelo, but I simply do not understand the hatred. Vaan is admittedly awful and actively drags down nearly every scene his in, but Penelo is benign at worst, and it's hard for me to see it as much more than hatred-by-association.

Zell's a good choice, too. Come to think of it, I ended up liking the whole main party of FF 8, which might explain why I was more forgiving of the plot's missteps.
