I mean it was officially announced yesterday and releases tomorrow so not much time for advertisement! I prefer the quick release schedule instead of drip feeding us a new card every day for a month though.

But yeah I don't feel like this mini-set is really going to shake up the meta very much. We'll see!

It would be a terrible idea for a main set, but since it was just a smaller chunk of cards I was kind of hoping they would release it the same day they put the patch out. No reveals, no hype, no time for data mining... just "Hey, shit's out my dudes!"

My comment was as much about Regis doing multiple release videos, with the one I clicked on implying that everyone already knew what the set was, as it was about anything else.

Well, opened my packs, and then ended up spending 2,400 dust on...Lothraxion the Redeemed and Oh My Yogg.

Lothraxion just appeals to me, I really like having strong hero powers, and Lothraxion with Odd Paladin's hero power is really nifty.

Oh My Yogg is disruption that is really needed to be functional in wild right now. Wretched Tiller is everywhere.

I made a list of all the battlegrounds characters I still need to get a 1st place finish with so I can prioritize those even if they aren't top picks.

Consequently I have gotten 2nd place like 9 times since making the list, and 1st place 0 times.

Rage.

I forgot that, because I was pretty lucky with my legendary pulls in the last set I ended up only opening something like 45 packs, so about 2/3 of the rares I just opened today were old ones.

The Three Kingdoms hero portraits just make me want an entire set themed around it. Maybe an adventure where Liu Bei is a boss and he throws a baby at you.

I've been killed by Wretched Tiller OTK on turn 5. Too early to be sure, because decklists aren't even refined yet, but if decks do continue getting refined this could actually be the strongest combo of all time in wild.

I'm 2-0 against the deck and it's entirely by accident. I decided to try and force that stupid Oh My Yogg achievement, which I've yet to actually accomplish, and both times they played Hysteria into it and conceded when it didn't work out.

I'm expecting the combo to get nerfed in some way before I play even a single semi-serious game on ladder.

Edit: Actually, I think those two games were the only two games I won last night out of about 20. Everyone else just attacked into it and killed me.

Another crown with Dinotamer Brann followed by another with Edwin VanCleef. I stabilized in both games with under 5 HP and went on to win. Still soooooo many heroes to go. I basically didn't play battlegrounds at all between when they added the achievements and just recently.

Yeah, seems my initial assessment of the combo was a bit overblown; seems kingsbane rogue counters it decently well (because they don't play enough minions to attack into, so they can't get comboed out on turn 5-6). And Secret Mage also apparently does fine (counterspell, explosive runes).

Those being two of the top aggro decks anyway, it might make the combo only tier 2 or something.

I mean no offense here but I question how involved you are with Wild.

Been to legend several times, been 11 star MMR multiplier, though I'm more frequently 10 star mult. Regularly read wild meta reports, periodically read wild subreddits. In lower ranks like Diamond 5 (where I am at the moment) it's very common. But I was watching a few high legend streamers and in top 100 legend it's not that common--much more kingsbane rogue and secret mage.

Checked Lord Barov off the list after a very tense Big Elemental game that went some 18 rounds. That was my first time playing him and he's very stressful because you have to not only manage your own board, but be paying enough attention to everyone else's to make smart bets, and even when you are hitting the bets that is just making your turn more complicated due to coin management.

Pretty happy with this one:



I had a golden Elistra for a chunk there, but then I had a window with 3 Soul Devourer's in it so I couldn't pass up +9/+9 on my demon so I replaced it with the backup Elistra i'd been holding onto. Not pictured here is the 7 ghouls (2 golden 1 regular) that I had in hand because I purchased as many as I saw to keep them out of the pool for everyone else. And even if they had a ghoul there is a reasonable chance my Macaw would take it's second swing after popping the ghoul so I'd still end up with 4 active divine shield.

Constructed is beyond miserable for F2P players. I didn't expect every opponent to somehow no-life the game yet still be hard stuck in Gold, but here we are. I just want to get the weekly constructed quest done without the urge to kill myself. If I just start conceding dozens of games on ladder can I tank my internal MMR?

Match 1: Gold portrait Mage who played 4 legendaries by turn 8.
Match 2: Gold border Priest who played 14 mana worth of stuff on turn 5.
Match 3: Gold border Paladin with multiple legendaries.
Match 4: Gold border Shaman playing evolve, poorly. First victory.

Since I saw the Kripp clip making the rounds where he whines about the Bob's Tavern subreddit taking advantage of DC scripts, I'll comment that his anger is (as it often seems to be) about as poorly directed as it could be. Blame Blizzard for having a mode where such scripts are beneficial and for not once coming out officially against such practices. Blame top streamers like Dog and Twelve who popularized said scripts. Or, instead of a luke warm take, just accept that it's part of the game until Blizzard does something about it. Whining about a subreddit where some people have an opinion you don't like is perhaps par for the course but also stupid.

Lastly, not sure if anyone here watches these streamers, but Nicholena is running another BGs tournament on Sunday and Allie is running a constructed tournament in the next couple of weeks if you'd like to try to get in.

Just played a game as ETC warrior against Priest and once I ran out of cards he literally just stopped playing anything. I mean it's a valid strategy but jesus christ I hate this game lately. Also ETC was the last card in my deck of course.

I took a long break after Un'Goro and I think it's about time to stop playing again.

I've barely touched ladder since this expansion. Now that we've expanded on the expansion, I decided to try playing some treant druid. It plays well, most of the time, but evolve shaman is still cancer.

I was glad to get the KT win before bed, but I'd realllllly like to get a Eudora 1st so I never have to pick her again. I've been playing more volatile strategies than I otherwise would until get my 1st place with everyone so every run has felt pretty risky. And thus far I've been unable to get more than 1 or 2 Hogger no matter how many rolls i've taken on 5. "I have 2 hogger, there are no murlocs in lobby, this should be a free win!", but the final piece just never falls into place so I can't go infinite.

Big Duel Paladin is very fun, squashing demon hunters is fun when it happens but I get easily bowled over by evolve shamans if they draw well

Played a handful of games last night to finish the weekly ranked quest, the final two were both against Evolve Shaman. Won both games mainly off the back of three Cenarian Wards giving me two copies of Hulking Overfiend and a Walking Fountain, and in the one game I was even able to overcome a Lunar Eclipse into Coin into Oh Fuck I Can't Believe I Actually Did That turn.
