But even then he managed to fuck it up. At best, the closed borders bought him time before the virus arrived on American shores. So what did he do with that time? Create and train a contact tracing department to help contain the spread? Put together a coordinated, unified response with the state governments? Nope. Instead, he spent the next two months blathering about how COVID was a democrat hoax to try and hurt his chances for re-election and how it was just a handful of people from China and pretty soon it would all go away and that his government totally had things under control so no need to panic... right up until a stock market meltdown finally forced him to act, by which time it was already too late because the virus was running rampant and the government had absolutely no plan for dealing with it. I mean, the US has had the worst COVID numbers in the world for nearly nine months and it is only now that places like India and Brazil (not coincidentally both countries that are run by their own right-wing populist morons) are starting to challenge America for the title. I would not be shocked to see Biden win popular vote by 5-6 points but lose the electoral college. Its crazy. Im expecting a Biden victory on both fronts but Trump might snag Pennsylvania and that would pose a big issue for Biden. I think we see a full Blue wave up north outside of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Can we just agree that nobody was stopping Covid? Europe is getting annihilated and they were praised. We have been getting hit hard all along. South America got annihilated. Asia has a different culture. Covid wins....we lose....the world will likely act better the next go around...unless its in another 100 years of course. Trump will likely take Florida and Texas and NC. I wouldnt be shocked at NC going to Biden though. Im telling ya. I also agree with Trump that the cause of the wildfires is because of lackluster forest management I also applaud him for negotiating peace deals between Israel and Sudan, UAE, and Bahrain. And I also applaud him for negotiating good trade deals with other countries. But these small things have no bearing on his failures of the Climate Crisis, the COVID pandemic, Healthcare, and various others. I live in Washington State and Covid has been handled through the state government(like every other state btw). We also have state laws and taxes. So Trump and every other president has very little effect on my life If I hated Washington State because of its mainly liberal policies than I would just move to a red state with conservative policies.
