and when Trump tried to stop travel from China, he was called "racist and Xenophobic".
I mean, the virus got to the US largely from Europe, not China, but let's not let facts get in the way of a good rant.

Also worth noting that, by and large, Trump wasn't called "racist and xenophobic" when he shut down the borders, because it happened to be the one time where his default foreign policy happened to be the correct move.

But even then he managed to fuck it up. At best, the closed borders bought him time before the virus arrived on American shores. So what did he do with that time? Did he sound the alarm and warn people about the threat posed by the virus? Beef up national stockpiles of badly needed medical equipment? Create and train a contact tracing department to help contain the spread? Put together a coordinated, unified response with the state governments?

Nope. Instead, he spent the next two months blathering about how COVID was a democrat hoax to try and hurt his chances for re-election and how it was just a handful of people from China and pretty soon it would all go away and that his government totally had things under control so no need to panic... right up until a stock market meltdown finally forced him to act, by which time it was already too late because the virus was running rampant and the government had absolutely no plan for dealing with it.

I mean, the US has had the worst COVID numbers in the world for nearly nine months and it is only now that places like India and Brazil (not coincidentally both countries that are run by their own right-wing populist morons) are starting to challenge America for the title. That's about as damning an indictment against Trump's response to the virus as there can possibly be.

Why are you bringing that up again now? You've gotten the links long ago about how the stockpile was depleted with emergencies in haiti and others, medical supplies were prioritized over gloves and masks which are typically readily accessible as congress didn't fund a rapid refilling of the stock pile.

You're just doing post after post of literal fake news, easily disprovable fake news.

Because it's the responsibility of the presidency which depletes something to refill it, not passing the buck along each time. And your links were alt-news garbage.

I can't always tell where his nonsense ends and yours begins. However, I've never seen you present credible claims to support that argument either way.)

I said simple answer. Yes or no. Try again.

The answer is that it's the responsibility of a president who depletes it to refill it. The presidency has countless larger responsibilities which is why the impetus for matters like these fall on the person who uses it to refill it.

Trump thinks cheeseburgers are great - I haven't seen a dearth of cheeseburger purchases in blue states as a result.

Because apparently your completely unsourced, bullshit claim about Trump liking cheeseburgers -- something more popular with Bill fucking Clinton -- is in any way comparable to Trump telling people to do something. If Trump told people to go out and buy cheeseburgers, THEN you'd see your dearth. And because your entire claim is complete bullshit, keep in mind that the Trump praising a company has seriously hurt several of them in blue states

Worst states in terms of cases per 100k population is, in order, North Dakota, South Dakota, Mississippi, Louisiana, Iowa, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Nebraska, Idaho, Utah, South Carolina, and Georgia - nearly all ruby-red states.

Those "hot spots" you mentioned? Connecticut is the 12th lowest. New Jersey and New York are directly in the middle of the pack at 25th and 26th respectively. Massachusetts is 33rd.

Citation? And like I said before, the areas being hit now weren't hit during the initial outbreak. Are you honestly pretending to be surprised that areas where it hadn't reached were less impacted? And that areas it's already been through are going to be less impacted now?

The sheer stupidity of your argument needs to be seen to be believed. Your argument about the reliability of an outlet is predicated on a completely unreliable source for verifying outlets. I've dissected this POS site a few times in topics where you've been present but again, you've chosen to assign it authority based SOLELY on the URL which is an inordinately idiotic decision.

The site is run by somebody with no qualifications to speak of who sings his ignorance as a virtue, claiming that it allows him to be non-partisan. When you try to look up the guy (which I attempted a few weeks ago), you find nothing -- no Linkedin, no social, etc -- he's a ghost. He might not even exist. But this is the source you trust? Why? Because you saw the URL. And that's why it's so easy to spread fake news in this day and age.

As for Propublica, it IS alt-news and it only goes back a decade. These are things you'd know if you bothered doing any research instead of just parroting the first thing you see that you think might support your dogshit argument.

Im not much for political debates but tomorrow could be very strange.

I would not be shocked to see Biden win popular vote by 5-6 points but lose the electoral college.

Its crazy.

Im expecting a Biden victory on both fronts but Trump might snag Pennsylvania and that would pose a big issue for Biden.

I think we see a full Blue wave up north outside of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Can we just agree that nobody was stopping Covid?

Europe is getting annihilated and they were praised. We have been getting hit hard all along.

South America got annihilated.

Asia has a different culture.

Covid wins....we lose....the world will likely act better the next go around...unless its in another 100 years of course.

Trump will likely take Florida and Texas and NC. I wouldnt be shocked at NC going to Biden though.

Im telling ya.

This election might come down to Pennsylvania

I also agree with Trump that the cause of the wildfires is because of lackluster forest management

I also applaud him for negotiating peace deals between Israel and Sudan, UAE, and Bahrain.

And I also applaud him for negotiating good trade deals with other countries.

But these small things have no bearing on his failures of the Climate Crisis, the COVID pandemic, Healthcare, and various others. Nothing can excuse his absolute failure and refusal to address these issues.

I live in Washington State and Covid has been handled through the state government(like every other state btw). We also have state laws and taxes.

So Trump and every other president has very little effect on my life

If I hated Washington State because of its mainly liberal policies than I would just move to a red state with conservative policies.

We have that choice you know....local politics is what should be focused on if you want change.

anyway...Carry on....Trump or Biden...it doesnt matter....most of our lives wont change one bit regardless of who is elected

  • Trump created lots of employment opportunities, made the economy peak and helped to middle and lower class.
  • Biden 'the kisser' is senile and probably won't even see the end of his 4 years due to him dying, IF he becomes president. The man can't even raise his own family properly (son got kicked out of the army for doing drugs, his niece is a drug abuser, e.g.), let alone lead a country. (If this happened within Trump's family, every "news" channel would report 24/7 about it, but hey... It's the leftie now, so they keep quiet about it.)

And what was before Trump isn't any better than Biden:
  • Barack 'Bomberman' Obama came up with lots of ideas and promises, which he never fulfilled. The whole Obamacare situation was a pure shitshow.

I, as a Dutchy, hope you Americans get to keep the best. 4 MORE YEARS!!

And Biden did it better.

The economy grew more in Biden's last three years as VP than in Trump's first three. Biden added 8.1 million jobs during the last three years of his term; Trump added just 6.5 million.

And, of course, this is all dodging the elephant in the room: Trump, through his historically bad coronavirus response, will go down in history as the only post-WW2 president to lose jobs over the course of his term. Whereas the last two Democrat administrations collectively added more jobs to the US economy than every Republican administration dating back to the end of WW2 put together, Trump has presided over the single worst US economy since the Great Depression.

And yes, he absolutely bears responsibility for that, given that it's his mangled coronavirus response that resulted in things getting this bad.

Covid may have been the cause, but it is Trump's fault as he decided to go golfing and then tell people the whole thing was a hoax instead of taking a proactive approach to the situation and work with the government to come up with a solution to keep it at bay ahead of time. Instead, state governments had to be reactive after it had already spread.

* Created lots of employment opportunities

COVID-19 created a shitshow worldwide. Not Trumps' fault. Not even close.

You do know that 1 and 2 are thanks to Obama, right? Trump had no part in that.

Also, Trump didn't help the middle or lower class at all. If so, why am I struggling to live every day right now???

Promoting peace and stability in the Middle East? Is that what you call invading and bombing a representative there in Jan?

Tax adjustements for who? Last year and this year have been the first time I have EVER had to actually pay taxes back rather than get a tax return.

Covid is not Trump's fault, but the collapse of our economy and the number of people dead IS!

Stop defending thsi fucker or you yourself will find retribution rained upon you when those who have been scorned by the government bring every one of their oppressors down.

I know several people who did this, I just hope it is enough.

I mean, if before Covid happened, I figured Trump had this election in the bag, especially if the democrats were going to let Biden run. After Covid though, while I still have this feeling Trump is going to win, there's at least a chance that enough people are hurting to the point of not voting for the man.

He cares a great deal about it given how much effort he puts into being factually wrong constantly.

responding to zeus is useless, man. the guy is delusional and doesn't have a firm grasp on reality. just let him be.
i disagree, i think @darkknight109 is doing the right thing. someone has to follow and fact check the politically uneducated, like zeus, ok?

the rest of of us have lost the energy, so his wild claims start to fall through the cracks, ok?

That's more or less why I do it.

Zeus is a lost cause, but others reading may not be and I'd rather they get actual facts rather than whatever Sparky's posting.

I've seen too many studies about how giving people facts frequently just causes them to dig in their heels and double down on their beliefs that I've given up on trying to debate Zeus and his cronies like I used to. He's got beliefs so far removed from reason that he might as well be living in a different reality.
