I don't have anything to add to that options stuff but I do want to say it gave me a lot to think about so I appreciate those posts.

New topic: People believe that all known future activity is already priced into a stock accurately. So say, airlines are expected to become busy in January. That's already priced into the stock now. If airlines get busy in January, there won't be an increase in stock price, because it was already priced in. If airlines don't get busy until March, or get busy in December, those would a change due to a change in circumstance from expectations, but not if they get busy in January. Do you guys agree with this?

Ignore what variations of "busy" might mean.

Theoretically its close but not quite. Ideally predicted Future activity is priced into a stock depending on certainty. Like it's never "The airlines will double in sales in january" but its more of "I think theres a good chance the airlines will double in sales in january". So once january rolls around and it doubles in sales it moves from an expectation to a certainty. At this point I would expect the stock to rose because that ambiguousness is gone.

I think there's more pessimism in airlines right now. I would be happy to buy now and sell after vaccine data, if you feel like vaccine data is going to be great. If you think the vaccine data is going to be OK then I'd re-think airlines. To get to January, you have to get through Q4 and the vaccine data has to be solid.

I do think it's been good to own and then sell spikes/buy dips along the way.

It also depends on which airline you choose. I think LUV has a lot more optimism priced in than AAL, for instance.

I sold NOVN for a 20% profit rather than a 30% one but now it's back down to a 10% profit so I'll take it as a win

Surprised by the market given Biden winning the election. I sold chipotle for a slight loss because I think the market will go down again.

I don't have much money in, but i'm a super scared person and I don't see a reason to sell yet (I only have like $6000 on QQQ)

Minor red day. PRU looking like itd be good for another 10% gain over the next week or so if drops down a few more bucks.

Untangled some of my calls that were green to start reloading my TRVN raw stock at $2.40 today. Then sold out of the money long calls with that TRVN stock to buy more TRVN stock. This feels like galaxy brain play. Maybe.

So I sat next to a guy at a bar today. An older gentleman, hes retired and told me he spends all his days trading stocks. I picked his brain for awhile and here are the best ones he recommended:

PLUG- Electric energy company. Up 400% since May with sporadic dips and recoveries.
SDC- A braces for your teeth company. They have their quarterly earnings coming up next week (11/16). A similar company, Invisalign, did phenomenally on their quarterly earnings recently (ALGN, went up 100 points few weeks ago from it). Logic is, these guys will too.
TAN- Solar ETF. With Biden winning, Democrats love climate change initiatives. My guy said this stock will be up 100% a year from now. A long-term hold for us.
FSLR- Same as above.
PENN- Gambling stock, just like DKNG. Election resulted in many states approving gambling. This should go up.
IPO- As its name suggests, this is an ETF of every IPO. They get the IPOs at their pre-market price before they skyrocket last minute.
JD- Chinas Amazon. Corona can murk China, this should go up.
BABA- Same as above.

Good morning everyone, this is the day we've been waiting for for months. Congratulations to everyone in it! I sold off all of my CNK, and between 1/3 and 4/7 of my CAR, DAL, and ALK today. Might sell some more a bit later.

I remember that, one of the main reasons I lost a lot of money during the stock market crash, I used to buy at high after surges like today
I would get into CCL that was 40%, then it would go down to 30% and I panic sold

Got in on Fisker at $13.50 with 100 shares, then sold a 11/20 $15 call for $130.

Not sure if it'll keep going up but it's low cap for its price so it could get pretty crazy in the coming days. I figure if I sell at $15 it's a good profit so may as well just do the cheap call sell.

I am selling most or all of my travel shares today and plan to shift most of it to more safe investments for a while. Not sure what yet.....maybe stuff like AXP, KO, etc. Might buy some GLD. Gonna keep F, SCHW, NDAQ, and SPCE.

Yeah I actually sold all of my hysteria options (aside from SABR, still holding half of that) and banked my money midday. Moved some of the money into VAPO options which inexplicably went down a ton today as best I can understand it because "COVID is dead" (it's not dead)

It's possible we get another green day tomorrow but I feel like it's all going to drop a bit after the hype, so I'll buy back in after they drop back down a bit.

Thanks king. I strongly considered keeping a portion, as you mentioned, but I couldn't resist the full sell-off.

While I really like Dave and Buster's, there are two things that have made me nervous about its long-term potential.

1) A COVID vaccine being "too little too late" - I've seen D&B's on more than a few lists of businesses at risk of bankruptcy due to the pandemic.

2) The barcade scene is quickly becoming saturated. D&B's used to have a really unique niche, but it's a crowded marketplace now. I live in fucking Louisville and we now have no fewer than four other barcades besides Dave and Buster's. Furthermore, a lot of newer barcades are local joints, and Millennials and Zoomers have a strong tendency to pick the mom-and-pop option when they have a choice.

I cashed out PLAY, CASY, WYND and CBRL today. Moved some of my funds into SUN and the dips on CAG and CPB, and I'm holding the rest for now. Like Mary Tyler Moore said, we're gonna make it after all!

I converted my 5 short term pfizer calls to a really long one ($40, 1/23) and got 4 3/21 PUTS on AMC for $3 (not sure why this stock went up so much even if the vaccine is a slam dunk they're bankrupt before it is in enough circulation for them to start generating profits again)

I'm expecting a pull back but who knows this might spark another summer bull run

I think those are good PUT gamble moves if you want to be a negative nelly. Not as good as AMC (which has already given me 15% return) but yeah those industries aren't just going to come roaring back right away because of a vaccine, even assuming no issues with the vaccine.

Best long term holds are SABR (this will recover as the flight industry recovers and it has a deal with google so it should reach higher highs than it was previously at) and oil (oil is still down from the highs we hit in Summer so still a lot of upward mobility there on stimulus news and more vaccine stuff) imo. Also Pfizer and BioNTech since they have the actual vaccine generating the hype.
