i updated my topic to community flair and asked a legit question on a game board, they modded me and posted

the issues i have with this are
-calling my topic low effort is degrading/insulting
-saying it doesnt qualify for community flair because it doesnt add anything meaningful is just an opinion

i responded to it with harsh words myself and said opinions are like assholes and that im surprised they qualified to be a mod with an attitude like that but i guess they couldnt find a real job. i feel they provoked me into it, because i have a disability that makes me harsh towards verbal abuse, so i don't feel i did anything wrong, i just responded to unkindness with more unkindness. the issue is i wouldnt like to repeatedly do this,

i know gamefaqs is run commercial and asking for improved moderators is basically out of the question, but surely theres got to be SOME sort of way to avoid shit like that? i mean they cant just delete stuff and talk shit and tell you that your opinion is worthless without getting the same back...?!

i really honestly with all of my heart do not give two shits if they dont like my response, they are the one that hired an ingrate that sits there devaluing people and abuses their mod privledges, theyre probably some fat fanboy that sits around all day hawking the forums, but im not going to just bend over, screw that.

in my defense:

-i updated to community flair when someone asked, in which they shot down, callously
-i didnt get karma loss, but the insult was more fustrating to me, who are they to devalue me? their job is mod an offtopic not talk shit, i really dont give a rats ass what they think of my topic, thats not their place to say
-kindness isnt a mandatory characteristic to be a moderator, but respect should be. nobody wants to visit a website where the moderators abuse everyone
-if you dont care what the mods do or think i deserve to be shit on because my topic isnt applicable to every single person in the world that clicked it, you're an idiot.

Have you tried challenging them to a fight your local tennis courts?

i don't think there is anything you can do about it, i don't think they care
you can make effort to traverse through the mod mines or try and find another board/forum which is more right wing in its free speech handling

i didnt post anything right wing, they just hate me from back when i posted ring wing media, and have set out a vendetta to ban me repeatedly for minor infractions. they have since deleted all political conversation but they still tagged me as trump supporter and want to destroy me from their memory of stuff i posted prior (6 plus months ago) i think theyre vengeful nerds.

The mods are unpaid. I think the admin is the only paid position associated with the site. I guess you could make the old "you get what you pay for" joke

i realize they do the job free so they dont really do the job correctly, but why do they hire such low effort moderators? it leads to a lot of shitposting, and makes this site terrible. if they really dont care if the site is terrible, why do they continue to pay for the servers to keep it going? is it really just here as a backlog resource of old school text walkthroughs when youtube is far superior? they might as well just cut the servers now then.

i actually didn't mean it like that, i meant freedom of speech is currently a right wing thing so a forum/board with less restrictions and trigger happy mods would be more "right wing"
anyway, even if what you say is true there is nothing you can do about it except the two things i said

there is also a possibility it's not a mod who is stalking you but a user who keeps flagging your posts and the mod didn't try to be rude to you he just did a copy pasta

since when does a comment have to be meaningful to the moderator themself to qualify for community flair? thats completely incorrect anyhow...and why do they moderate a message based on the effort applied? i dont post high effort posts, because people dont like to read a whole lot of fluff. who the hell wants to sit there reading long winded high effort posts, when the moderators arent doing their job correctly? it's a waste of my effort.

theyre just so bad at their job. like this other moderation they got me on trolling because i said the xbox had better backwards compatibility than ps5 and they told me im antagonising users. who am i antagonizing, delusional sony fanboys that refuse to acknowledge facts? it's a well known fact that ps5 bc is inferior to xbox.

And when I was a kid and first started going to this site I also went to different forums to make fun of the people who liked things I didn't. Got modded and stopped doing it.

Years ago I faced moderator bias and abuse on some online communities. Some other members at those communities did, too. I reported to the admins.

moderator bias is very real, they either dont like your political stance, your game or console choices, or your opinion on certain game titles, and they axe you on purpose.

Like others have said not much you can do about it, the mods here will censor what ever triggers them that day.

I don't either but you should be aware that people tend to lie about why they were moderated. In the past when I needed help with a ban from Sony I had issues figuring out what was going on because the Sony website is very unhelpful. When I tried a forum people just told me "Sure you didn't do anything" and harassed me over it because people typically lie. I found out years later it was some sort of financial ban that I don't know why I received.

I try not to judge people on the surface but comments like "who am i antagonizing, delusional sony fanboys that refuse to acknowledge facts?" reminds me of behavior I used to engage in when I was younger.

so how do i stop getting banned? ive been on relatively good behavior for my standards and i already have 6 moderations in two days, and 3 of them were the same topic because they were pissed i triggered their sony bias. at this rate im going to be purged, because im not a blind sony fanboy.

LMAO. No though the amount of times I've been told my topics/posts are not worthy of here is so high I don't take mods seriously. How can I with stuff like this been said?

Disruptive posting is against the ToU, double posting is pretty intuitively more disruptive than simply editing, if you put any amount of thought into the matter.

That said, double posting still happens very commonly without being modded, so if you got modded for it, odds are you were really obnoxious about it.

This. Try posting any opinion to the right of Bernie on 261 and see how fast the mod squad comes running after the resident Antifa mass mark a post because they disagree with it. Hell, it's an open secret there that at least one mod openly antagonizes users on alts just to have more reason to mod on his mod account. It's why I stopped posting there entirely months ago.
