At this point it's inevitable. I have seen literally nobody excited to vote for Joe Biden. Meanwhile, 20 cars with probably close to 60+ people in total just paraded down my street campaigning for Trump.

Lots of people have an irrational hatred for trump. They seem to believe that he called white nationalist "fine people" and that he suggested injecting bleach; both of which are untrue. They blame him for the cages built under obama. The guy is no saint, but at least he hasn't started any new wars and has been brokering peace deals throughout the world, resulting in his nomination for a Nobel peace prize. Also the first step act is more criminal justice reform than joe 'super predator' biden was able to accomplish while he and obama were in the white house.

Truth is no asshole making predictions right now knows any more than anyone else. We'll know come election night.

I find it funny when people act like every Trump voter is as enthusiastic and is in love with him as those that buy tons of Trump merchandise and will travel to see him at a rally.

Those people are an extremely small part of those that might vote for him, shit he is the first president to have a higher disapproval rating than approval rating throughout most of his presidential term. Overall it seems people don't like him and basing America off that less than 1% that love the dude is a joke.

I have seen many posters on this board parrot back the fine people and injecting bleach mis quotes. This is not to say there aren't rational reasons to dislike trump. I'm curious if u dislike him, and if so for what reason. I'm open to hearing your view point.

If we're talking about alternate realities then we need to clarify what we mean by Trump. Is an another reality's version of Trump considered the same person if he's know for his stylish hair instead of his unnatural complexion yet everything else about him matches up?

Then there are realities in which there isn't an election occurring. Or the ones where different quantum probabilities didn't lead to the formation of life on Earth.

I'll be honest. I haven't heard a single person saying that they're excited to vote for Biden but plenty who would sooner vote for a machine that does nothing but punch them in the groin than vote for Trump. What we'll likely see is nothing unusual with the city centers voting dem and the rest voting rep. Since the cities have a much higher population I think there's a high chance we'll see another 'popular vote to the left, electoral to the right' split.

If I were to judge based on what I've seen on the street and voter enthusiasm I'd say it's a guaranteed Trump victory and I don't think either side will dispute that most Trump supporters would gladly give up a kidney for him while Biden voters, at BEST, care more about getting Trump out than Biden in. That may be their undoing since there may be plenty of people who simply can't muster up the will to vote for Biden even in a write-in. What's been going on with the protests/riots can really only hurt Biden since they're happening in city centers which were already going Biden anyways. If the dems lose even one state because of that it won't be worth it from a purely electoral viewpoint. The real issue will be getting the less-populated areas like suberbs and rural areas to vote since that's how the Republicans will flip stats or Dems lock them down.

Well, let me ask you then. Let's say, hypothetically, that the media was fake news. They are far from having a squeaky clean track record after all and have lied about candidates before among ample amounts of other things. What would you need to see in order to feel that a story was, indeed, creating a false narrative about Trump? Like, let's say tomorrow you saw a headline on CNN saying 'Trump proclaims that people who like vanilla ice cream are the chosen race and those whom like chocolate are losers'; would you assume that the republicans are unjustified calling that fake news?

Conversely, those on the right, let's say you saw that story and found out it was linking to a tweet in which he says 'vanilla is the best ice cream. I like vanilla ice cream. Other flavors are loser flavors.' would you still call it fake news?

The reality where the Democrats are smart enough to let Bernie Sanders win the nomination THEN obstruct him while he's president.

Anyone who thinks the drooling idiot who isn't even campaigning can succeed where Hillary Fucking Clinton failed, against a non-incumbent Trump who wasn't rigging the election in his favor, is beyond delusional. Biden is perhaps the worst major party nominee in the entire country's history.

BlackScythe0 posted...
Him winning basically depends on people staying home.

And stay home they will. There's a pandemic and they have this stupid idea that only the presidential election matters when in reality, local elections matter even more. So they won't even vote in those because Biden is such a shitty candidate they will feel sick to their stomach at the thought of voting for. (And for good reason. He is an irredeemable sack of shit. He was buddies with Strom Thurmond, voted against desegregation and gay rights, voted for the Iraq War, supported the crime bills that led to the protests and even drafted one himself in 1994, etc.)

And the best part is, they don't even have to vote for Biden. If Democrats can take the Senate they can remove Trump anyway. The attempt after the impeachment only failed because the Republicans controlled the Senate. But if we vote those fuckers out.....

But it won't happen. People aren't stressing the importance of local elections enough.

By which you mean they're completely fucking true and we have it on video.

Yes, I will grant you that in the full transcript of the speech over the Charlottesville rally, he DID drop a line condemning Neo-Nazis before his "very fine people on both sides" line. But the reason it doesn't count because one of those sides was 100% white supremacist. He DID call white supremacists very fine people because it was a very black and white issue. One side was good. The other side was pure evil. To say there were very fine people in the pure evil side is to say Nazis are very fine people.

He flat out said the thing about bleach. No way to spin that one.

The fact of the matter is the democratic party despite what the most right wing try to paint it as is a fairly middle of the line party. Bernie was too radical to ever win the nomination period, while the Democrats might be liberal in comparison to the Repub's looking at them in the grand scheme of things they are nowhere near as left as Bernie was.

So we have a party that continues to move further and further to the right in the Republican party, and one that leans slightly to the left for the most part in the Democratic party. I think people are getting too caught up in the most hardcore followers of candidates though, Bernie bros were nowhere near a large enough sector of people to win if they were they would have had him have a slam dunk nomination in the primaries.

I also think the biggest reason Trump won was because of Cambridge Analytica, they used extremely nefarious means to find out all they could about voters in key battleground states then bombarded them with bullshit to slowly convert them over time. A very interesting documentary that goes into great detail about the 2016 election and the rise of Cambridge Analytica is The Great Hack from 2019 I believe it is on Netflix it's a great documentary.

Ummm... What on earth are you even talking about? It's the exact opposite. The right's remained solid and, if anything, has been moving left with it becoming far more accepting of homosexuality and other such things while the left is literally the party marching around screeching to end the police and demanding communism. The reason Trump won can be summarized in just one moment.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCHJVE9trSM

Do I even need to say anything more? Hilary was completely out of touch with the average American and was willing to condemn them as all the worst things. The miracle isn't that she lost the election; the tragedy is that she still won the popular vote after that.
