I kinda hate the non-1 characters who get 1 synergy because they basically cut the number of real FF1 events we get in half. But I guess I'll probably use it for the DB anyway because my options are so limited.

I never played it, but I wouldn't mind if they just made it a separate realm. I just hate how it takes away from FF1 which I actually like.

If it makes you feel better it's not entirely baseless. It shares a lot of lore with FF1.

But I mean I'd take Red, White, and Black Mage from (I) even if I do like Meia and Wol. I'm actually more annoyed about Matoya (just make her Black Wizard dammit) than the 3 Mobius chars though.

If they made the Mobius characters seperate they would just end up near useless in the realm based meta the game has shifted towards like the KH characters or in that weird limbo Beyond characters had until recently in Japan.

And yeah doesn't Mobius take place in the same universe as FF1 just far in the future? And the Sarah in that game is a descendant of the FF1 Sarah? (Garland as well?) I know it has its own Chaos and Lich from the early events as well.

Also Matoya was probably supposed to be the proxy red mage (her early SB used to have buffs, esuna and regen) but they shifted her to pure DPS now.

Yeah pretty much. I didn't play through all of Mobius due to lack of time but you have the gist of the tie in. I think it works for FF1. I also like Wol and Meia and Echo decently enough so I definitely don't mind them, even if I wish Thief had more relics and Red Mage had a character

And yeah proper Red Mage kit would be Spellblade with Black, White, and Combat 4-6 depending on how much function vs flavor you wanna give him (I think 5* black and white, 4* combat, 6* spellblade would be best but yeah)

I don't think there's any "true" viable Red Mage in the game besides Onion Knight and maaaaybe Tyro (and that's only because of his sync) Matoya is more in the sense that she kinda looks like a red mage but since she's not restricted to generic core suckyness she can actually get relics that make her viable. I think the game is too focused on specialists at this point a red mage doesn't seem that appealing in the current meta.

I dunno I guess when I hear "Red Mage" in this game I think more of a mage that has access to both high level black/white magic but has problems being viable due to realm or infusion issues. Like Dr. Mog, jack of all trades master of none kinda thing y'know?

This fight is ridiculous. Anti-heal might be the dumbest mechanic the devs have ever come up with, and that's saying a lot. I had a few attempts where Lenna's heals were literally healing 1HP at some point.

First 11-Draw on banner 2 is 25 mythril is half price, so I figured I might as well.

Healer AASBs are very valuable relics, so this is definitely a win in my book.

I attempted the new Odin but even with my broken DPS, Shelke isn't effective enough as a chain holder. Wish I had Prompto's instead.

I wouldn't use a honing scroll for cast time reduction. That's not big enough to be worth the cost. Save them to get a second cast on an amazing support AASB.

If you are attempting the Water-weak Omega fight solo (as I have just done), please do not rely on normal cast times for your defensive buffs. Explosive Flame will murder you before RW Wall finishes casting. (QC3 LMR invoke backed by a healer AASB did work, though.)

I got Ovelia USB today, the Elarra variant (Regenga+HQC2). That counts as a win in my book.

Man this was rough, it's so irritating that the boss is piss easy but is just so bulky in phase 3 that every other attempt ran out of turns and got Memory's End'd. The bulk on these bosses is ridiculous! I have a level 99 HC, Pecil and Barbie have 200 magia in offense, full board, HAs and need stacks of buffs from Edward's Awakening/Ultra/Super and the mind boosting bard ability just to barely break savage mode in phase 3! And Zeromus still jumps from savage level 0 to 3 frequently. UGH.

Finally I got one of those Rat Tails missions done (well besides the petrify freebie on 9.)

I also got Noel's AOSB from RoP! 6* ice boosting armor with 13 synergy, nice!
