DB Prep XIV pull on Banner one: Haurchefant Glint+, Alisaie Sync, Minfilia Chain

Wanted the chain and got it! That sync is my third one covering magic wind. Can I tell the game that I'm well stacked for wind on both sides and maybe give me a little more love to ice and lightning?

Alisaie's sync also does lightning damage and grants infusion FYI. Really wish I had it so I could wreck Leviathan with it but that stamp fest is too close. Maybe I'll put some tickets into FF14 when the realm banners refresh and hopefully it will be there.

I should try the FF8 dreambreaker before the cardia mission ends, I think I might have enough tools for an ice team. I'm grinding magia for Selphie at the moment.

Also is anyone else doing Odin now for daily magicite missions? I can beat fire weak Odin no problem now with a mage team of OK, Ace and Vincent. My vault is getting cramped with 5* magicite even when I'm combining them. I wish you could trade them for rat tails, anima lens or rainbow crystals...

Tough. Had to Anima Lens Vincent Glint and full dive him but it worked out. Hoping having a Shiva passive makes this clear a bit cleaner to get the other copies but not holding my breath.

Turns out wind odin is super easy with Shiva. No prep whatsoever but I think Valefor would be much worse due to infusion issues. 3 echoes now may prioritize a 4th or 5th before proceeding.

I can sub10 Ixion pretty easy for max greens, already bought everything I wanted from the shop. I have to use Ignus' chain as a RW for the last since Ixion is too fast and imperils to kill me before I can kill him without last stand unless I get lucky enough with dualcasts I can kill him before the third Thor's Hammer.



I also got Maria's HA since the dreambreaker is next week, might as well help kill Ixion quicker.

Last day of the dream selects, and I'm still not sure what to pick for an Awakening! I'm eyeing like seven...

Edgar would help in the dream breaker because this boss null fires a bunch.

Rinoa or Edea to deal with Magic Valefor.

Ace for double cap break shenanigans with his sync (or in case it's a long fight and his hones run out)

Aria might be the main thing that could get me a dreakbreaker win.

Vayne because my FF12 DPS is behind and he can help with magic Alexander.

I wish Ysayle's Awakening was selectable though, that would get me the FF14 DB and Magic Valefor... *sigh*

I'm having trouble deciding which second glint and LMR to grab since I did 3 dream selects (already got Vanille Awakening, Genesis Glint+, and Locke Dualcast LMR)

Big thing is I have a ton of tickets for refresh and I'm going to use those on realm tickets, and most things I want aren't immediate and/or in a realm I'll probably throw a lot of tickets at (FFII, FFIV, FFVII, FFX, FFXIII)

I'm thinking maybe Fran's Dualcast to help me with Valefor (my Fran seems like she'll be a better imperiler than Laguna, though I could get Laguna's Imperil Ice LMR instead but I have Fran's good party quickcast imperil ultra too) and no real idea on the Glint.

Finally took on dark-weak Dark Odin. Ended up killing him, making it 7/8 now (just wind weak left), but even with a fairly OP physical dark team, still gave me some issues.

Seph AASB/USB2 combo carried almost all of phase 2 once it got going (had to use one mage to break rage down), and then used sync ASAP in phase 3. Thankfully, I had re-upped chain before the phase 3 interrupt, and Seph's first hit of his HA broke into phase 3, so I got another free one, and then a DC of taboo raid from Orlandu somehow before the interrupt. Killed him with a Orlandu USB right after the third elemental drive.

I have USB1/Sync Cloud, plus either Faris or Zack chain, and Zidane AASB as support, but the bar wind stacks and quakeja spam makes me hesitate for wind-weak.

I also really should do some more torments as well, mainly for the rubies if nothing else. The only ones I've sub30ed all 3 difficulties are V, VII, VIII, X, XIII, XV, T. In terms of ones left...

I: I have WoL AASB, and not a whole lot else
II: Maria and Emperor AASBs here
III: Luneth and OK AASBs, good healing stuff for Arc
IV: Got a 33.21 kill on D???, so just some tweaking here I think
VI: That sleep attack is worrisome, but Celes and Terra AASBs can carry the damage, Mog AASB to support
IX: Zidane AASB with Quina AASB as support. Have Vivi and Kuja's AASBs as well, though not sure how I'd work them in
XI: Shantotto and Ayame AASBs as DPS, Aphmau AASB for healing
XII: Ashe AASB yolo damage
XIV: Same as above, but Alph instead
T0: Got some newer stuff recently, including Rem AASB, so may have a shot here

A win is a win. Had to get Fran's LMR with dream selection as well as Celes's USB3 with lenses but yeah. Squall's Fire Awakening (followed by Ice Glint) was useful to kill the tornados in phase 2 with Renzokuken and still have his Sync for the rest of the fight. Significantly squishier than the other magicites helped me finish the fight (probably cause of all those darn goons) as well as Snow's Sync in the final stretch + Squall and Celes arcanes for burst.

Probably won't be too bad to get the other copies though.

God fucking dammit I forgot to pick an Awakening from the dream select!! Shit! Shit! Shit!

I really fucking hate the dream breaker meta! Having to juggle 17 realms and dealing with BS mechanics makes picking a relic so crucial that you overthink and run out of time.

Guess all I can do is hope it gives me something decent from the random, or at least not a dupe.

Any Awakening should be good enough for Torment since they were released in the USB era.

I got Lunafreya's Awakening from RNG. Probably one of the worst picks to be honest. I already beat magic Ifrit and she doesn't mesh well with the rest of the FFXV crew for the Dream breaker.

Well that's 30 bucks down the toilet. I'd prefer a dupe of a awakening I moderately use, at least it would be a level up for that.

Torment Meltigemini down in 27.04

Zidane AASB, Vivi AASB, Kuja AASB, Quina AASB/USB, Eiko USB1/2/3 (all the healing ones), and I STILL had issues with this guy. Eiko could barely keep up with the healing, even though she opened with her regenga USB. Ended with just Quina and Kuja standing. Zidane's AOSB was about to go off, but he died due to back-to-back incubus doomsdays. Was definitely not my finest moment, but it's down at least.

Will likely try FF2 next, let Emperor and Maria's AASBs run wild. Though I don't really know what kind of supports I have for them.

I did 7 draws on the wind banner cause I wanted a chain and wind chain chances don't go up with refresh and I actually have good syncs for Bartz and Fang so not a huge priority to wait on wind in particular. Probably dumb but oh well.

I'd still get Faris, she has *5 support so she can help a mage team more than Zack, unless you want Alphinaud to juggle chain/sync/awakening.

I also got to about 30% on the FF14 dreambreaker with Alph, Ysayle, Minfilia, Elara and Y'shtola. I think I might have to replace Elara with Orran to counter the full break, I wasn't at any risk of dying to the boss I just used up all 3 chain RW and I wasn't doing enough damage in the third phase.

Yeah I ended up getting Faris. Have more stuff for her than Zack and didn't really feel like waiting 5 months to beat Titan. Even if I could beat him without possibly. Having a wind chain finally is nice. Got Yshtola Brave Ultra on the draw which is kinda useful as it's basically 1000 free anima lenses since I'd probably want it eventually unless I drew a bunch of stuff for her

Realm and Elemental banners refresh officially coming on the 5th. Hoping for as late of a cut-off as possible.

That's good we have confirmation but that leaves me in a dilemma because it refreshes the same day the 14 dreambreaker rat tails mission ends.

Do I wait until it refreshes in hopes that the recent FF14 banner stuff is added? Since FF14 is so small there's a good chance of getting a sync/awakening and if I had one more cap break dps I'm sure I could kill the dreambreaker easily, or should I not risk it in odds that the recent banner stuff is too early and attempt to beat him before it's too late?

I would wait. The Dreambreaker missions don't give that many rat tails. If I remember it's like 1/10 of the amount you can get from the regular weekly missions.

I'm definitely excited for the refresh. I think I have 14 tickets saved so hopefully I'll get something good. I need to check the pools before I pull but I think I will target XIII first since I need help with the dreambreaker, I need Serah for my ice magic team, and I could use Hope for my holy magic team.

Isn't it bad when you pull an Awakening and you're like "this is junk"? I have way better fire relics, plus Irvine is my chain user. For that reason I'm not sure I even like pulling Quistis...her chain has more buffs but doesn't come with hastega. Selphie seems like a great pull though. It's my first healing sync, which reminds me I need to find a tier list for healer syncs to see where she stands. She'll definitely be part of double-healer parties now, but I don't know if she can beat my primary options just yet (Rosa USB2/Glint+ and Elarra AASB/USB).

Also the realm refresh is awfully weak, last fest's stuff wasn't included so FFXIV hasn't really improved! Ugh. No Orran goodies either.

I put 15 mythril and a ticket towards FF2 instead.

Got Leon and Gordon's Awakenings from the mythril and Maria Sync with the ticket!!!

Now maybe I can beat FF2's dreambreaker!

I also put 5 tickets towards FF4 since that's the next dreambreaker, got 3 1/11 dupes (ugh in such a huge realm) Rubicante Awakening and Pencil LBO. Those might be helpful?

God I'm so pissed! I almost beat the FF14 Dreambreaker with some good luck around 4:45 PST, he only had 7% left and I was relativity healthy with decent chain time left... but then my phone battery died on the bus and I was devastated! Ugggh all that planning at work and trying diffrent strategies during breaks and when I finally find one that works this shit happens!

Damn you Dena for making the refresh so weak! Even if you only put Papalymo or Ysayle Awakenings I would have used my tickets there and hopefully would have gotten those rat tails!

I should have just tried over the weekend.

Ugh I'm trying the FF8 Dreambreaker and Cerberus is fucking awful. I have to use Squall and Kiros Awakenings in phase 1 because because he's too bulky and fast that it's tough to get to 70% before he uses his eject move but phase 3 is way too bulky with only Laguna Awakening. The RW is important too since if I chose the healing one I can't do enough damage in P1 because Laguna doesn't get enough meter to get his chain up, but without the healer RW it's notoriously hard to stay alive with just Selphie (and god her Awakening is TRASH!)

This boss's bulk is ridiculous, he's makes Adamantoise seem like Ixion! And Squall/Kiros/Laguna are all 6* dived, with over 200 magia and realm artifacts!

Yeah, Cerberus is a huge pain because of the ice resistance move he keeps using, even with Laguna imperiling. I thought my ice team was good but he crushed it. If you have the tools to use other elements it's worth a try, it made things so much easier to use a weaker team with Rinoa, Fujin, and Ultimecia.
