I'm also cashing out on TSLA. It took a bit of a dip and if all of you are cashing out, seems like a good choice. Might divert these funds to NVID

Major sell off today. Everything opened so strong and now most are red. Peloton opened at 10% and I sold at 5%. Now its at 3%.

Glad to see Tesla falling. Hoping Apple picks up today but its been on a year lately so this is fine.

Cashed out a little on Apple

Docu is dropping but I'd still expect it to pop after earnings tomorrow.

RKT is looking nice, should be great after earnings too. I'll probably plan on selling it then.

I usually don't buy tech stocks because I'm a Luddite, but I did pick up some WORK today. I didn't choose it because of a thorough analysis or anything; honestly, I just really, really like Slack. It's the best chat program I've ever used by far.

Idk why I didn't buy any Zoom before its big spike, I was asleep at the wheel with that one.

I've also been stockpiling LUB in anticipation of COVID easing up in Texas. Seems like a fun semi-penny stock.

I thought Zoom was going to disappoint with their earnings to be honest

I don't see how their business model is profitable. You can do so much with the free version. And then when you actually need the paid version only the host needs to be on the paid version.

They must sell data or something.

I've been looking at Cinemark for a while. Looks like it jumped 30% before I could buy in though. I'm still kind of skeptical the movie theater business will come back that well. I feel like a lot of people are going to decide they can watch movies at home, or are getting into outdoor activities.

I do regret not buying Docusign. It was at $205 last week, sigh.

They have a P/E ratio of 540 so it was probably something in their earnings report other than earnings that impressed the market.

I mean..it's dumb, really
I have been playing it super safe and missed most of the huge gains
Was I all in today? no, I wasn't. But today was such a bloodbath that even playing it safe is not cutting it
2 Months of gains deleted in an instant
I am still down from the previous stock market crash so..yay

Worst thing is that I can't even complain about it because everyone are so "what do you want, the stock market was surging like crazy! a correction was needed!" expect I wasn't part of most of those gains because I am dumb

I think you'd feel better and probably get better results if you switched to investing for the long term. Don't try to time things, just buy companies that you would be happy owning shares of even if the market price doesn't move in your favor immediately.

Yeah. The best is to hold for years. Hard for is to do that because most of us only got in the game due to COVID, and as such escort quick gains. The stock market is best played long term.

So it may be helpful to expand on what this means. Have you been keeping most of your portfolio in cash on most days?

Then it seems like the problem is primarily that you have a low tolerance for risk. And that your risk tolerance goes up as stocks go up, causing you to miss out on a lot of the rally and buy more at the top.

If you had a financial advisor invest for you, unless you are a sick retiree on your deathbed who doesn't expect to make it beyond the next year, they would not put anything close to 80% of funds in cash. To make money, you really need a bigger allocation to stocks, but of course then there'll be greater risk.
