The thrill I get of seeing one guy land a hit and then the fight get called off is like no other.

The camera work where you can see the fight from a different angle every second to really see how REAL and GRITTY it is.

You know, more REAL and GRITTY than the fake stuff in the ring, I mean it's not fake though. It's totally real, just not as real as this.

It's pretty amazing Bischoff has that level of insight, yet can't bother holding a non-podcast job for more than a month. I have to think he was half-assing it, because he knew better.

WWE is WCW staring back him like a Dorian Gray painting, and he's probably die inside if he stayed longer.

Saying "Give them a reason to come back" isn't galaxy brain thinking. The issue with guys like McMahon or Bischoff or Heyman or Pritchard or Cornette isn't the what, it's the how. It's why all these guys that peaked in the 90s shouldn't be involved in wrestling in 2020. Its why having someone like Tony Khan, who is technically a millennial, is better to have in charge than any "wrestling genius" from the past.

As amazed as I was with Bischoff's insight there, I'm more astounded by Ryan Satin trying to argue that there's a large portion of fans that believe WWE is real, and that people thinking WWE is real is supposed to be a good thing and something hardcore fans need to remember, as if we would should be easier on their shitty booking because WWE is writing for a tiny percentage of people who believe it's real.

Suspension of disbelief is the goal. The problem is most wrestlers want to be seen as half actors/half sport star. "Performance artists" is the term.

The issue is on both sides, being both too creative or too regimented, leads to a disconnect. There is just something missing in the "sport" context to be real, but too MUCH sport to be taken as a film or sketch comedy.

Sure, some wrestlers played the game so well they transcended it, but when the only person who feels "real" in any sense is Brock, it sure speaks to some core aspect of wrestling that just isn't the same.

Wrestling is...wrestling. But it isn't trying to be that. Or WWE forgot what it meant...if they knew it at all.

I don't think, judging by this AEW Heels yearly subscription thing that she gets brand management either. Like make it a $5 monthly subscription or something. And for the love of god advertise the thing better. I still barely get what you receive for it.

I also remember that one time she was on commentary as a heel and she just talked about how awful the people in the ring were and people had to take her back after and tell her why it's important not to bury the talent constantly during matches, which solidifies that she kind of doesn't understand pro wrestling. This heel turn thing she's done also came out of fucking nowhere too. She was a baby face literally in the segment before the match and then she went all in on "I'm the coolest and best women's wrestler in AEW right now." Like it's so strange.

Holy fucking shit. Go out of your way to watch Dark Order (& Colt Cabana) vs. The Elite & FTR. That match was so much fun. So unbelievably awesome. I thought it could've been the finish like 20 times over. It's SO GOOD though.
