It was overshadowed by the tax cases but the other case SCOTUS ruled on today to close out the term was a 5-4 decision (Gorsuch + Liberals) that ruled that nearly half of Oklahoma is considered a Native American reservation because Congress granted that land in the 1800s and despite the repeated assaults on the sovereignty that have ensued to this day it never actually dissolved that decision and thus must keep to its word.

or as ted cruz is whining on twitter "[they] just gave away half of Oklahoma, literally."

You're excited that the government will make sure every average Joe will be kept down, and prevented from getting too much benefit.

Personally, I'd like to see billion dollar companies stop looting from the government. How about we cap business benefits at what they paid in 2019 taxes?

I'm with corrik on this one. If UBI is going to make any major traction then "money for people" programs need to not have the negative stigma associated with them of being a way for people to make MORE money by NOT working.

The problem is that people need to make a living wage in the first place because they determined what people need to live and the UBI is what they sent and the fact that its vastly more than a lot of people make is criminal and the solution shouldnt be to lower the UBI it should be to make a required payable livable wage all the time. Corporations are getting literally billions that they dont need and people are concerned that random folks are getting 2000 which is a lot more than some of those people have ever even seen.

They wouldn't have been talking about not extending it if it wasn't broken in the first place. It made workers resentful. I told you when Mnuchin made the idea at the beginning it was broken and was going to cause problems.

The budget commission did agree it would cause problems.
