Random side thing that I'm happy about but I'm not sure anyone else here cares about: Healin' Good Precure is coming back from its hiatus next week! On top of that, apparently a new Precure that will be debuting later was revealed recently (due to her merchandise going on sale, so I'd assume the episode she would have debuted in would be airing around now if it weren't for the hiatus) along with who's going to be voicing her.

It definitely looks like she's a full-grown adult *speculation and potential spoilers ahead* if she's a normal human at all. The current fan theory is that she's actually the "queen" who sent the healing animals down to find the Precure in the first place, but then she somehow lost her powers and came to earth as a normal human to still be able to help them.

In terms of all Precure that have ever appeared in the series, definitely. I doubt we'll ever see another Precure fighting a battle well into her 60's ever again. But she's not a main Cure since she's a one-off appearance in Heartcatch and she doesn't appear in the advertising and merchandise for the series. I'm pretty sure the oldest main Cures we've had so far (Moonlight in Heartcatch and Chocolat/Macaron in Kira Kira) are 17 years old.

Decided to watch Lupin the Third and the Castle of Casgliostro tonight as it is on Netflix for me. I've heard only good things.

I did a short paper on Castle of Cagliostro in college.

I took all the hard hitting, difficult classes as you can see.

What class was that for?

It was for "Asian Film". I don't remember the exact name but it was something like that. I went into the first class session and the professor said "I know the course title says Asian film but this class is actually just going to be Japanese film."

Basically we just watched a bunch of Japanese movies and wrote short posts/papers on them and discussed them. I remember watching Seven Samurai, another movie called Twilight Samurai, Tokyo Story, and the original Ghost in the Shell movie as the only anime that was part of the curriculum.

We got to pick one movie to watch on our own and do a paper on as long as the professor cleared it. I chose Castle of Cagliostro as I think I already had it on DVD and just hadn't watched it. We had to post them online on the discussion board and some guy picked the fifth Kara no Kyoukai movie.

So neither Sakura or her brother knew who their great-grandfather is? I mean I guess Toya may know (and didn't care to visit him apparently) but Sakura had clearly never met him before and seemed unaware of his existence. Even he possibly seemed to not know who she was at first because he kind of looked taken aback when he heard her last name.

Also Sakura and Tomoyo seemed to have no idea they're related (and I don't think they have acknowledged it to each other even now). You'd think they would have met in a family context outside of their friendship by now.

This is kind of a weird family (Cardcaptor Sakura).

I mean, if I had to choose what was weirder between being a magical girl and having never met your still living great grandfather or even knowing who he is I would have a slightly hard time. Same with choosing between having a flying magical creature in your room or just happening to become BFFs with your cousin before finding out you're related.

I am liking it though. Very charming show. 70 episodes seems like a lot but I will probably do it over the course of the next couple months or so.

The fifth Kara no kyoukai movie was legit. They based a whole event around it in FGO.

Yeah, I know the first half is the Washio Sumi prequel, then the second half is the actual sequel to the original series. The first two episodes have felt more lighthearted than Yuki Yuna's first few, which I'm 99% sure is just setting up for something even more horrible. I also re-watched the important scenes from the last few episodes of the first season with the Japanese voices (I had watched it dubbed the first time) before I started this.

It's nice hearing Suzuko Mimori in another role before she finally voices a Precure in the next couple of months.

Gin didn't deserve that terrible fate. I mean, it was fairly obvious that something bad was going to happen to the only character from this prequel who didn't appear at all in the main series, but I didn't expect that. That was the most completely horrifying scene that I've ever watched in an anime that somehow didn't trigger my aversion to gore, and despite how painful and horrifying it was, I couldn't take my eyes away from it.

Ren from Vanguard (the long red haired guy dressed as Blaster Dark) is usually a fangirl bait. He goes from an edgy rich kaiba/bakura crossover to a bit of a goofball once this crazy thing that makes you good at card games in return of becoming an asshole thing is lifted off him. Girls go completely gaga over him, and I personally don't really get it. Hilariously it results in a lot of girls who play VG play Shadow Paladins, which Ren uses, which is uhh... not an easy deck to pilot for beginners or casual players lol... so the results are usually disastrous.

Asaka, the blue haired girl, is this socially awkward chuuni girl who went secretary mode for her one true love Ren. A fan favorite amongst male fans. She plays Pale Moon, a magical circus themed deck, and completely hams up this performance about her being this ringmaster of a circus thing, complete chuuni style. Barely knows how to interact with anybody but Ren and his lackeys. Her main card is a waifu, and she's a waifu so Pale Moon is infamously expensive as hell
