What was SephGs original counterpoint? Because there are legitimate reasons to end the lockdowns that wont get you modded. I think the UN recently stated that the current trajectory of the economic state puts hundreds of millions in the third world at the risk of starving, and I doubt anyone with a shred of humanity could support such a thing. Were in a very dangerous time period economically here.

The issue in the third world is that the economy is very hand to mouth. Over 90% of peoples money goes to food.

Nobody will tell what was the original moderation message. He has been targeted for awhile though for his wanting to end lockdowns and weighing risk of death to virus versus the death tolls of significant poverty and depression down the line, which is a valid argument to make.

...maybe this is why we get along often but when we don't we really don't. i fall firmly in that category and some positions i view as a bit more right-wing are usually because it's more libertarian than authoritarian (gun control is a big one) so it's really an up/down scale happening there.

there definitely is an aspect here that butts heads but it's doable. modern left does skew much more towards authoritarianism but those who are more liberal tend to go down on that scale as individuality and freedom become more important, whereas those more progressive go up as collectivism becomes much more important.

He is clearly debating the effects of a lockdown versus the supposed good of a lockdown.

That's a fair debate. I would encourage everyone to have this debate.

Off topic though, I dunno in your areas but it seems the will of the lockdown has broken in my area. People who were strong for it have effectively gone fuck it towards it. They are okay with wearing masks but they are not okay with being forced into their homes on nice days. That's the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of them.

I don't know how much longer PA can keep this lockdown going in my area. It's probably why they started opening up a lot of outdoor things here.

To be fair, XIII moderated me for trolling also for an equally as bullshit post. He clearly is just targeting people. Moderator that power has gone to the head of. And, like Ulti said, Ryo was straight up just honest with his political leanings but didn't seem to moderate on them, at least not outlandishly. Xiii is on another level.

And the moderation system is broken to appeal these moderations.

I believe the "spreading false information about the ongoing pandemic" in this instance is referring to SephyG quoting Red's post, which is specifically calling HIM out for his whining, and twisting the meaning to imply Red is uncaring about the plight of the victims his response post lists, even going so far as to imply that Red is encouraging such horrific things.

Also, in context, Sephy's post sarcastically claims that those negatives are the ONLY effects of the quarantine, while minimizing the positive effects as fruitless efforts to "save the world". It's not the cleanest moderation ever, but let's be real here: Sephy is being a massive jerk in that post, and he's definitely trolling by misrepresenting Red's words (and misrepresenting his own words regarding his previous arguments against the quarantine.)

That is poor moderating. You should never be moderated for things that another wouldn't be moderated for due to your history. Never. Every post should be a clean slate for as whether it is a moderation or not. Only the degree of punishment matters to your history. This would not have been moderated if the names had been flipped around with red and Sephy. Case in point to terrible moderating and failure of the system

Sephy's post deliberately misrepresents what Red said, painting him as an uncaring monster, while simultaneously downplaying ANY positive reasons as to why someone might be in favor of the quarantine. That's blatant trolling, and the moderation is deserved, ESPECIALLY from someone with a repeated history of such offenses.

Then he sarcastically responds that empathy towards them shouldn't matter because high and mighty intellectual red deems it so and will save the world.

Like there is literally nothing wrong with this post. I mean, is the argument that him sarcastically calling red an intellectual was flaming? That is literally the closest you are going to get to a moderation with the post. Red's post clearly, while a flimsy moderation at best and one I wouldn't make, is more of a degree of flaming than Sephy's.
