Yesterday I got Larsa's Glint+, which was pretty neat. Healer Glint+ are probably my favorites.

Wow, I actually got a 3/3 today. I'm pretty sure that's a first for me. I've had the occasional 2/3, but this was quite a surprise.

Really like the changes they've made. Anime Lenses are really cool to make any character you want usable and digging the ticket draws. 6* Record Boards seem cool too. Heard there's an Awakening Select soon so hoping I can grab Rydia's from that.

Are you doing the daily 6* Magicite missions for 6* mote? You're gonna need a lot if you plan. To get into dreambreakers

I will when my party gets to them. I stopped halfway through 5* but should be able to finish them with the extra toys. Vanille's regenga Ultra being anime lens able is really nice and I also lucked into a few awakenings with my tickets and realms on parade (Wakka, Lunafreya, and Alphinaud-- the latter I have his awakening, sync, and 6* glint, are now beasts) For now just treading water on the stuff rotating out.

It's best to do 5* Magicite for the missions so you get all the notes.

Alphinaud was one of the first to get a record board, since he can hit every element now it's best to dive him to wrap up the physical resistant Magicite (heck he can probably contribute in the magic resistant ones too since Summons have such high multipliers.)

Well, if you have one I think it's still useful to have the other, because just one won't last through the Dreambreaker fight.

I really want to do another pull on the IX banner but my mythril is so low and there are so many good banners. But the next IX event is so far away, and the banner is worse.

I have neither her sync nor her awakening, but her HA is so good people still get it because breaking savage mode for no meter (and potentially dualcasting it) is insanely good for savage mode stacking bosses.

Also fuck Hades, he does too much annoying shit to be worth farming on, with Beatrix HA I can now sub 15 Deathgaze so eff him!

Yeah, I meant it doesn't hurt to pull now because getting both is good.

I guess I should make Beatrix's HA too? I've been a little skeptical of it because it doesn't boost your chain count at all... and lenses+ are still pretty scarce. I'll probably try Dreambreaker Deathgaze a few more times first and see if it'll help... now that we've had IX LotR and I can invest some more t2 and t3 lenses.

The bosses are just gonna get bulkier, characters with OSB HA are considered MVPs in Japan because breaking Savage Mode is extremely important for Dreambreaker and White Odin. Japan is also jealous we got Beatrix's HA before Diabolos is out. I don't see the chain count as really as much as a disadvantage since with their savage modes more consistently down you do more damage anyway. If you're using Lightning or Marche quickcast USBs you're already building lots of chain numbers through quickcast assault sabers.

Also is the event Deathgaze weaker than the Magicite one or does using a RW Ramza chain make that much of a difference that I sub10'd him?

The event one is definitely weaker, it's a d300 fight when 5* magicite is d400. On the other hand, the event Hades is harder than the 4* magicite version.

Yeah I noticed when I went back to fighting the Magicite version, I can't seem to skip past the slowga against the magicite one like I can with the event one.

Still he dies pretty quick regardless now thanks to Beatrix HA. Made one of the most annoying bosses an easy farmer!

D400 Hades is fucking awful. I at least wanted to do him once, just to prove to myself that I could beat him, but it took a few tries, different party combinations, and some serious luck to get a win.
Seriously, screw that guy!

Hades is indeed awful, still one of the worst bosses in the game. Thankfully you don't need to beat him at all, I did once but he's too annoying to fight to farm greens on. I got everything I wanted form the Fat Chocobo's shop this event already.

I got Edea enice LMR today. At least it's new but I never use her unfortunately.

Got Minwu Sync and Paladin Cecil Sync from the banner with one draw. Pretty awesome. Kinda wanna draw again for the holy chain and other Minwu stuff/awakenings. Might do so before it rotates out.

Dreambreaker progress: I got him down to 12.x% today. I'm enjoying this fight more than most of the 6* magicite since it doesn't have any of the super annoying gimmicks, it's just hard as hell. I need to learn to navigate phase 3, but it's tough with the massive damage reduction from rage and the fact that my awakenings are used up early in phase 3.

One of my favorite things about this fight is that I've learned about some tools I never even knew I had. The boss keeps using sap so I realized Eiko's glint with mirror image can block it. But the glint only has 3 uses and you get sapped 5 times so I had to look farther and I noticed that Freya's default SB gives party low regen. So now I'm using that!

My current strategy is to use reraise on slot 3 and then finish phase 2 before the death on slots 2&4. But that does require me to use up my firepower going into phase 2 and makes phase 3 pretty tough. My next step is probably to get Beatrix's HA since I really need a better way to break rage in phase 3.

After making up my mind that I certainly wasn't gonna pull on the Sync banner, and probably skipping the AASB select as well, I went for another 11 on the FFIX banner.

wait, tomorrow? that seems so early. i hope whatever free fest draw(s) we get are still before it expires. and the mythril pot, since i don't even have 100 mythril right now.

the banner itself isn't as bad for me as most, i think. my only dupes are Noctis glint and Celes LMR... and possibly Papalymo USB, not sure about that one. there's still like 6 awakenings I really want - Kefka, Tifa, Yuffie, Zidane, Tidus, Ramza. also Laguna, but he's not an option.

That banner is pretty awful since I have 2/3 of the awakenings, USBs are okay though.

But yeah guaranteed Ramza Awakening for 100 mythril is too good to pass up.

I couldn't have asked for a better pull, I've been chasing Ramza's chain forever and Basch is a good enough substitute, and Minwu should be the missing piece for my magic holy team. Edward is nice, but I do have Mog AASB so I don't know how they'll compare yet.

It's a great result, but I'm only sitting on ~150 mythril going into fest now so I really have to strategize my pulls.

I picked up Sephiroth's USB1 with lenses and finally got my first Alexander kill. I had one round here he was hitting for 60k per hit of Demon's Cross which was pretty cool, but that dropped off substantially after Alexander used Sacred Aegis.

Also I really hate the heavy combat combo because the 5* ability is so bad. I finally realized I can just use Darkness Swing with no buildup. 4 hits of 1.0 isn't that bad, it's the same damage as Healing Smite (without the heal) and only a little worse than Snowspell Strike. It's definitely not great but Cloud can do enough with it to lower the holy level in phase 1.

It's also does earth damage for what it's worth, I was planning to use an earth team for the FFV dreambreaker so maybe? (or I should just stick with Krile)

realized the FFIX event ends today, then noticed that I'm lagging pretty badly on the realm with relics (Zidane/Quina/Eiko USBs and Steiner chain are the best ones I have). Did a realm pull and got a Beatrix LM and Zidane Awakening! It helps but I really need another DPS, debating this last half hour if I should spend a ticket on another realm pull or take a shot at the first event banner...I'd be really happy with Beatrix Sync, but I heard Marcus Awakening is really good too?

Any awakening is good unless that character is outclassed by someone who does that element/school better or they lack renewable infusion. Or their stats weren't meant to be DPS like Faris or something.

what, Faris has one of the best awakenings. with that and a few other relics, she's competitive for a spot in a wind team even without her chain (and a complete no-brainer with it).

I've never seen Faris use her Awakening in any Titan or Dreambreaker videos I've seen. And I've seen people on forums say Faris does too low damage to be worth using her Awakening on Titan Titan, especially at third phase.

People use Faris for her imperil USB2 or 3 rather than her Awakening (edit that was mostly due to the 4 soul break limit back then, since you can only use awakenings once that's why people didn't use it) You shouldn't be using Zack and Faris together anyway unless you got Zack's recent stuff and are using him as a second DPS. It's usually Cloud + Zack/Faris for chain&imperil and a second DPS like Bartz or Zidane for wind teams.

Man this boss is more annoying than hard, debuffs, dispel and lots of nuls, he can go to imperil level 6 to neutral in a couple of turns.

The biggest enemy is yourself, when he uses that radiant shield and you attack him with an awakening he'll reflect 2x 9999s, or 3 if your character triplecasts!

Still those delicious anima lens+!

I didn't realize the IX event was ending... I really wished I could do another pull but I'm too broke... after this selection banner I'll be down to 41 mythril.

Glad we finally get Elemental Destruction with basically no fanfare. Finally more HAs!
