Hey guys, I need some help forming a physical fire team. I have more than enough tools and magicite but I can't seem to formulate enough damage on this guy, I'm at like 80 percent and still getting my ass kicked and I have a lot of neat stuff.

So I got Kiros buffed up with motes and he's pretty nuts! An instant cast Marche clone with switch draw infusion is amazing! And with that new ice celerity skill he just lols at Syldra's haste. I'm sub18ing Syldra now with ease, I can kill her in phase 3 where she only gets one attack off now!

Mateus's barrier is a major defense buff, but it can be overwritten with a move that is a single target defense break, steal defense works too.

Kiros is great now and considered a top tier ice DPS and a high tier dark DPS. He needs his USB if you plan to use him for 6* Magicite since he lacks a renewable enelement without it.

1/11 Lunneth chain! Finally I have a gen2 chain in every element!

Huh, now the other banners don't really seem to have much appeal since I'm 5/8 into 6* magicite and pulled on all the realms that have confirmed Phantasms... well except FF2 but since I already have Emperor, Maria and Firion's Awakenings I'm reluctant to pull there.

That's bittersweet.

Celes w-cast Glint, then Dr Mog flies in, and turns one of the Discos into Terra's Sync! Hell yeah! The other disco was Mog Glint+, not that I really cared.

Ugggh I'm so embarrassed to admit I still can't beat Wind-Weak Odin. I thought Luneth chain would be the key but the fact he lacks an imperil soul break really hinders him compared to Zack and Faris. My best wind DPS are Alphinaud and OK but they need Lunneth's 60% field and 150 count to break savage mode so I can't use Zack. I used to run two healers but when I get to the third phase I can't kill Odin in time because I lack imperils and he carries that wind damper to the third phase making him too bulky to kill before the time limit, so I tried swapping Penelo for Zidane so he can imperil but I'm having a hard time surviving with just 1 healer even if that healer is Elara awakening.

Wish I had Valefor now so I could keep Penelo, but man do I feel humiliated thinking I need a specific 6* magicite to beat a Dark Odin.

Maybe I'll figure it out tomorrow, I'm gonna call it a night.

What all wind tools do you have? I managed to beat wind-weak Odin last week and you're way ahead of me content-wise. I still haven't touched 6* yet - I probably could beat a few, the fights just seem like way too much of a pain in the ass.

I still haven't gotten my 4 Ifrits yet, and I've had so many deaths to absolute BS mechanics - mostly having last stand pop, instantly queuing up Aerith USB2, and then having sap kill me before the USB goes off. But also a few deaths to the good old trying to use my healing USB, having it preempted by an animation, and then having the boss kill me before I can reenter the USB. For me this is definitely the worst fight in the 5 year history of the game.

I've had that happen to me so many times, it's really the absolute worst.

I'm done with Ifrit, other than a mage clear eventually. I'm now working on my Shiva magicite, and that fight is such a delight after the bs that was Ifrit.

That's why Strago is MVP in the Ifrit fight, his LM2 saved my character's butts from last stand sap kills, that multi hit attack Ifrit uses is basically a free medica when he uses that.

So my wind stuff is really hodgepodge- my best DPS options are Alphinaud with sync/Awakening and OK with Awakening (which is really important since that is also a party magic buff) My Cloud isn't so great since he only has USB 1/2, glint and AOSB, no Awakening or Sync. I recently got Luneth chain but I don't have his awakening or even his USBs, just his glint, OSB, and dualcast wind (and his bsb but that's not worth using unless he runs out of hones.) but the main problem is that he doesn't have any imperil soul breaks even with the record lens. I also have Zidane Awakening and his imperil USB but I can't replace OK for him since Aplh wouldn't be able to do enough damage without the faithga so I have to replace a healer with him, but Odin is too fast and strong that it's hard to survive without two healers, but if I can't imperil him he's too tanky in the third phase to beat before the countdown ends because of his nul wind and I'm not hitting him for weakness to get extra meter.

I guess I could get Alph's chain off the select so I don't need Luneth anymore but I don't want to spend money just to get an artifact stone and some crystals.

Alright, finally got my 4 Ifrits so I don't have to worry about that fight again for a long time. Nice to know it should be a little easier when I get around to doing my magic clear.

Gave Shiva an attempt, those ice walls are BEEFY. I thought Terra would be able to blow them away with her sync command 2 linked to a summon but that didn't happen. After the fight I invested in unlocking a big chunk of her record board so hopefully she'll do better damage next time. I actually could really use the buffed omni-elemental version of Ultima so Vivi could do AOE damage too... oh well, probably don't need it.

And yeah, if I were you I would just put off wind odin until you get more stuff naturally.

IIRC he only uses bar-aero once in the fight, so Syldra should be able to take care of that. It'll be tough without other imperils but I think it's doable. 2 healers are basically mandatory since Tyro wouldn't contribute much to a mage team here. I'm assuming you tried Luneth / Alph / OK / healerx2?

Despite Alph being so strong you still might be better off going physical here. Cloud / Zidane / Luneth isn't too far off from the Cloud / Bartz / Faris I used. Luneth can't imperil but his OSB can keep Odin' savage in check along with Cloud's USB. I kept getting within inches of beating him around the 45s mark, I finally got him by stalling phase 2 a bit, and beat him at just over a minute. It's going to be a slog without a more cohesive wind team.

Hmm, so I realized that I completely misunderstood the Shiva fight and you're NOT supposed to blow up the walls... or at least I think you're not? You're just supposed to spend phase 1 setting up and then melt Shiva as fast as you can in phases 2 and 3. That's a bit of a bummer because it means Terra doesn't really want to use summons, which leaves me with only two 6* spells to divide between three casters. None of them can use the new witch ability. Vincent's damage is already pathetic in phase 3 with Meltdown so I don't really want to give him chain firaga, but his damage is still important in phase 1 & 2 so I don't want to just give him burnt offering. Meh, guess I'll have to experiment.

Anyone know how useful his radiant shield BSB is in this fight?

You can destroy the walls. If you have the dps to burn Shiva fast enough, it may not be worth it, but you can. Especially in phase 2, you want to destroy them if you can't burn through phase 2 before the Curada.

In my physical clears, I ignore the walls in round 2, but they get get destroyed in phase 3 when Noctis uses the AoE samurai.

I'm not sure if the Radiant Shield is worth it. My Vincent is stacked with Glint, Chain, AASB and BUSB, so I really don't have any gauge to spare on it.
My gut says the fire RS might be worth it with the fire chain, the NE one probably isn't.

You can stall on the first phase for as long as you want, Shiva is mostly harmless there outside of a diffusion, then go ham on her and try to blast through phase 2 so she doesn't heal herself with the walls.

I did the FF13 realm banner with the mythril I got from the campaign log in, got two dupes though, ugh.

Also Midnight Bullet came out yesterday! It's great for Kiros if you want him to go dark.

I pulled on IV and III with mythril from the VI event and the login bonus.

IV was kind of a waste with Decil BSB and Ceodore Holy Chain; I pulled Ramza's recently, so that's meh.
III gave CoD's en-dark LMR and Arc's AASB. Not bad.

Got my first Shiva clear. That wasn't that bad... nowhere near as annoying as Ifrit. The biggest challenge is still the way your damage is totally nerfed in phase 3 (Vivi was doing 7500 per hit with Chain Firaja in Awakened mode against rage level 3... that's with an artifact weapon, a damage RM, a 25% damage boost LM, two magic boons on my magicite and I think 2 stacks of enfire). Luckily Terra with Lunar Ifrit is still capable of breaking savage mode.

After I get my four clears I need to start preparing for Valefor. Looks like the team is going to be Celes, Squall, Laguna, Elarra, and (probably) Tyro. I might sub out Tyro for Aerith if I need more healing. I will probably take my first HA for either Celes or Squall. My heart says Celes but my head says Squall since I think Squall is more useable for fire than Celes is for holy.

I think I should be ready for Valefor, except I don't have Squall's Hero ability for the tornados since sapphires are so expensive, I'll have to wait until enough events or that Omega fight comes out.

I'm not sure if this dream select is even worth doing for me. I guess I should probably do the awakening one but there's no clear picks since the list is so restricted and I already have a bunch of them. I guess the main options are:

• Seifer - I have his dark chain and Alexander will be the next magicite after Valefor. But I really dislike him as a character, and he also needs to juggle chain, awakening, and ultra because he doesn't have an en-dark glint. Part of me wants to just pull for Shadow's chain on the Fat Chocobo event. But if I miss it then I might regret passing on Seifer here.
• Zidane - Would be for the first Phantasm, but mostly because I like Zidane really. I do already have three awakenings for iX (Beatrix, Freya, and Vivi) but getting Zidane would let me make an all-physical team which might work better, especially since I have Quina's USB (+50% attack, proshellga, hastega).
• Rinoa - Eventually would get used for magic Valefor. But I'm not planning to do that soon, and I already have her Sync so it may be unnecessary
• Raines? - Guess I could go for a magic dark clear first instead of physical - I do have Golbez's chain. But I have Seph's Awakening and USB2 so physical seems easier.

Don't switch infusion modes still refresh infusion after a 6* Magicite uses diffusion? IE if Kiros uses his USB or awakening, uses an ice ability to get ice infusion, then say Valefor 6* Magicite uses diffusion but then Kiros uses a ice ability and he gets his infusion back?

If that's the case Seifer's awakening is more valuable than you think.
