I have a 5* Mercedes but when I look her up, it says she's only available as a 3 or 4*. Where did this come from? I know that sometimes demotion can occur for units that originally came out as 5* but do they still retain their 5* status or something and just get 3 & 4 variations added?

No, a unit that gets demoted to the 3-4* pool no longer has their 5* variant summonable. The exception being if they're a focus unit on a banner.

This banner appeared shortly after Mercedes was demoted, so on that paticular banner you could get a 5* variant of her, while her 3-4* is what's normally available now.

20k to promote x every time you want a skill because all the good ones are from 5* + (20k x 10) for merge costs

It's not even canonically correct for Lucius to be a healer because he can't heal before he is promoted, yet he's wearing his unpromoted garb. Such a travesty

Feather cost is less restrictive later on when you start stockpiling feathers, but yeah it can be rough starting out.

Depending on the skill, there can be a unit that has it at 4*s so make sure you don't spend feathers needlessly. Of course there are still some skills *coughQR3cough* that are still only available at 5* for some damn reason... Play long enough and you ironically get to the point where you don't "need" feathers because everything you want is only be obtained via orbs...

I'm hoping Summer banner doesn't have anything I want because I'm slowly started to get used to saving up orbs again(You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get to triple digits again...) Only spent some for immediate fodder, so that much was worth it.

yeah i love this kind of big project in games though like in Persona, Pokemon, etc.

don't see the banner revival on the calendar though (Summer Refreshes). is it going to be combined with the bigger Special event from 6/18 or something?

There are summer banners in June and July. Her original banner ran in July so I'd expect her re-run to come next month.

I'm also hoping nothing is too tempting. I'm considering making L!Edelgard a +10 project, and am almost back to 400 orbs now

triple digit orbs wowsers. i'm at 85 right now and i know there's a lot more i can still get from story/etc. as a new player but that will be drained over time.

looked through the catalog and put together my checklist of WANTS so i could maybe plan for banners

i think i remember seeing you can get some of them through the grails but i haven't looked into that yet. and this is only for initial copies, not counting all the extra stuff i'll need.

Ursula, Joshua, Louise, and Aversa can be picked up through grails. There's also a seasonal Jaffar you can get with grails. Reyson and Cherche you don't have to target. They're common.

Charlotte is on banner now, and probably won't be back until next year. Unless they finally release a non-seasonal version of her

Nothing that is a must pull. Mia's dagger has a slaying effect with 75% damage reduction from the first counter when attacking. And possibly some other atk/spd boost, but don't remember exactly.

The duo skill only impacts units from the same game so it's a bit limiting

i just watched the video but forgot what they were called but the new heroic double units. NOT a FAN. what if a character i like gets paired up with some dumbass and now i have mixed feelings about wanting? huh? HUH? HUHHHH???

The choose your legends banners allow you to pick the unit that you want for free. I can't remember anything outside of them. The next one is Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, and Lysithea.

I don't like the harmonize pairings either. The duo units make sense, but this is too random. Watch them make Tibarn and...Selkie to torment me

so i'm chilling in bed at 1:30 in the morning, see the Stahl/Sully banner think pssh what a dumb banner, get my free pull, it's Florina. think "eh, that's fine." then i scroll past the rest of the banners, see the Bridal one, think "...maybe just one session" and the next thing i know my 125 orbs are gone. whyyyy did i do this

near the end, i just went in a session with 10 orbs and had 4 of the color i was looking for so i couldn't even get all of them. whyyyyyyyyyy did i do that

That's a classic mistake I've committed more than once. Pulling randomly in the middle of the night, bad idea. You're not well rested, so that part of your mind that tells you to "stop" isn't fully awake.

And yeah, don't summon with less than 20 because the game loves pulling that shit.

also, still hate Mordecai. have like 8 of him now. not even any good skills to inherit? is smite used a lot compared to Reposition, etc.?

I don't think it is worth it if you don't really want Charlotte that much. The pity rate is how you get baited into spending more than you want for something you don't really need.

Also, smite is not that useful. I mainly use reposition or draw back. Sometimes swap
