In an odd spot because I think Odyssey is vastly superior to Smash, and had it winning before switching because of Smash fear, but don't actually want it to pull off the upset because there goes bracket.

Unless GTAV also wins its division because I'll make up the points there.

I wonder what the stats would predict for Octopath vs ME3 by taking the results before the Undertale rally.
I think Undertale was 10k votes down so I'm guessing it would be an easy ME3 win.

So I couldn't help but notice in the contest standings page that

2*user votes + anonymous votes

is not the same as adjusted votes. Is this because of users who registered after the deadline still being counted as "users" but only having their vote count as 1 vote?

@LusterSoldier is this your explanation also?

Octopath Traveler is now #7 on Top Switch Games for this site. Or maybe it's been for some time and I'm only noticing now.

I just thought of something, people are stuck in their homes and need something to play on their Switch (aside from Animal Crossing), naturally this site favors RPGs and when they go searching for RPGs on Switch, Octopath Traveler is gonna pop up. Thus it gets a small boost.

It's the Quarantine Effect.

Agreed, dang fine game. Some of those later levels are DIFFICULT, goodness, that's a lot to ask of a player...but that base game and a lot of those extra levels are legit.

Octopath got a PC release last year, though I'm going to guess that probably did very little (if not outright nothing) for its strength

I just finished the Mirror Temple yesterday and holy hell, that was painful. Long, difficult and dark. The hotel level too.

The others were alright, though some strawberries are rage inducing.

On the topic of trying games because of this contest, I had touched it before but it inspired me to actually dig into FFXIV.

I just finished the base games main story, and man, they really pulled off a full-fledged mainline FF that also happens to be a good MMO. I wasnt expecting credits to roll haha. And that part is apparently much weaker than the patches and expansions!

Anyway, I think one of the great things about XIV is that its not the kind of MMO you need to dedicate your life to, and its totally accessible if you just like Final Fantasy games.

First two matches are alright, but having Undertale > Mario is surely weird.

If Undertale is that strong, it's because of a rally, and if you think a rally happens you may as well take it all the way to the championship.

Personally I NEVER got over that one contest were Undertale won greatest game of all time despite being 2 months old at the time.
