Maybe not AOC, but Bernie supporters got pretty mad at Ayanna Pressley when she broke from the rest of the squad to endorse Warren. I would say there's some latent sexism but it's mostly a problem with toxic stan culture that should be kept as far away from politics as possible. And Bernie's base is both more numerous and better organized than other political fanbases so it makes sense that they are both mentioned more and engage with conflicts more. Liberals don't engage with MAGA fans and you can't say the KHive and #YangGang are anywhere near the relevancy Bernie has.

Yeah it is a matter of size. Bernie had like 4-5 times the support so it makes sense to have 4-5 times the toxic unfortunately. Bernie literally has said he wants nothing to do with this numerous times obviously but it will never be enough for some.

Okay, but... and I can't claim credit for the framing of this as even though it matches my thoughts it's more coherent than any formation I would have attempted on my own...

By agreeing to interview with him, Sanders is basically signalling to his supporters "you can watch this" and this is particularly troublesome when a core argument for Sanders is - by his own side - that he draws in the otherwise politically uninvolved. So let's say you get these people to check out this interview because "Hey, it's Sanders, cool let's watch" and afterwards they decide "well, let me see some other videos/interviews by this guy" or hell Youtube's algorithm gets to work and now you've suddenly placed a lot of people who haven't been involved in the political process at the gateway to an alt-right spiral.

it's just not a good thing

Actually I was waiting for this "defense" because it just came out this week that he had other candidates requesting to be on with him (and yes I'm mad at whoever these candidates were!) and he rejected them saying he only liked Sanders and Gabbard and the others could get lost.

It's one thing to materialize Hillary v Sanders Round 3295876 out of thin air. It's another when Hillary not only says she won't support him but openly shittalks Sanders - that's a big deal! I don't at all agree with the people that say that her not endorsing him is a good thing, either. Hillary has pull with a crowd Sanders doesn't, and her turning away voters from him hurts.

God this argument is insufferable, but Ill address it.

In that same episode (with Jimmy Dore, a hella Left-Wing dude), he basically says the difference is that they just want to use him as free advertisement, and he doesnt like to have people on who are just there for that, because he doesnt think the conservation will be good.

Lets also talk about the time he has Candace Owens on, and not only made her look incredibly stupid, but mocked her relentlessly for like the next 2 months of episodes.

Or how he was talking to Kyle Kalinski (a Left Wing youtuber), and he was essentially saying Sam Sedar was picking on Dave Rubin because Dave Rubin is too stupid (he didnt use this exact phrase, I think he just said he was outmatched) to fight back?

Joe has people from all over on, and calling him a gateway to the alt-right is boomer-esque understanding, like when the news covers video games.

I think its because hes so popular. Hes often the #1 overall podcast on iTunes whenever I check. And his format is definitely unique and cant be reasonably accused of being overly biased. Its one of the top non-mainstream-media avenues for people to get their ideas out there to a huge audience of people.

Except MMA stuff, he definitely has agendas there <_<

I mean I guess in this topic it doesn't matter, but I think the too-savvy attitude of "of course McConnell's gonna get away with ramming through a sham trial" is actively harmful in that it lets McConnell get away with exactly that. McConnell having no ethics being the expectation allows him to pull as much shit as he wants without consequence. If it was portrayed as shocking that he would pull this shit he'd probably still try it, but Susan Collins and Mitt Romney (and everyone else who's an assumed acquittal vote) would have a harder choice to make.

Not really. I, personally, can do nothing to stop the GOP from acting as enemies of the state. If you want to discuss it, feel free, but it's not a topic I feel like focusing on because frankly? All of us here are powerless to do anything about it outside of going out and voting, and all of our votes are already locked in.

What's NOT locked in is the actual Democratic candidate, which is still up in the air, and I think the last two weeks have been bad for Bernie's chances whether or not his supporters will admit to it. Character assassination is a real thing.
