I'm not sure how I feel about Trump's thing about holding members of Congress responsible for what happens in their district. Like how much power does Nancy Pelosi have to address homelessness in San Francisco? She's SF's delegate to Congress, not its queen. It seems unfair to blame her for problems outside the scope of her position.

I disagree with the nobody likes him line.

I do agree that Sanders has a lot of super toxic, vocal online supporters that attack people (especially women) online, and that Bernie should do more to call them out. I also agree that a lot of his senior staff suck and, while not as toxic as the worst bros, lean into that shit. I think a lot of that is because Bernie likes to reward loyalty, and he does that at his own peril.

Hes a lifetime politician is a complaint only because Bernie acts like everyone else is tainted for being part of Washington when hes been there as long as anyone.

I dont think that Bernie himself is a sexist.

I do think that, e.g., an army of Bernie supporters swarming Warren tweets with s is sexist, and its just a fact that theres way more of that going on among Bernie supporters than supporters of any other (Democratic) candidate. He cant totally control what they do, but its a big enough problem that he should be explicitly calling it out.

Sure they can.

But Bernie's campaign last time around paid women less than it paid men. That's super disappointing, not to mention the claims of sexual harassment that went overlooked. Bernie Sanders has definitely attracted some very toxic supporters, despite having a very positive and important message. I wonder how much we can count on those people to get more people like Bernie and AOC and yes, Warren, in office and less people like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Too many people like Bernie for being outside the establishment, rather than the good message he has. And that's a problem.

But if you do that you get tuned out. You have a limited amount of political credibility so it's all about how you allocate it. That's why nothing sticks against Trump - the Democrats attack him with the same intensity for bragging about himself on MLK Day and for using his office to enrich himself. You lose all your credibility that way.

Maybe not AOC, but Bernie supporters got pretty mad at Ayanna Pressley when she broke from the rest of the squad to endorse Warren. I would say there's some latent sexism but it's mostly a problem with toxic stan culture that should be kept as far away from politics as possible. And Bernie's base is both more numerous and better organized than other political fanbases so it makes sense that they are both mentioned more and engage with conflicts more. Liberals don't engage with MAGA fans and you can't say the KHive and #YangGang are anywhere near the relevancy Bernie has.
