Gavin is a very nice and likable guy but turns out those are not the things that make a good prosecutor.

Klavier is okay. He's got great animations, but not much else going for him in court. I like him better outside of court than in it.

There's a Star Trek episode where a commercial break cliffhanger is a woman taking Kirk hostage with a gun. After the break, Scotty goes "Ohhh" and looks like he's going to collapse from being sick. She looks over and Kirk grabs the gun, resolving the cliffhanger in five seconds.

That's still a worse cliffhanger than Trucy's fake kidnapping, but not by a lot.

I also didn't expect the panty thief mystery to get wrapped up like that. Predicting the girlfriend is the murderer, though I've thought that since she hired Apollo to defend Wocky.

I think the fake kidnapping is a bottom 5 moment in the series. People talk about how Mia magically appears to bail Phoenix out too much, but this was way worse than anything Mia ever did.

It's also worth noting how Trucy does a lot of the work in arguing during the trial, way more than Maya does.

honestly Apollo is really good on the second day of 4-3

but he's easily the most incompetent a lawyer has ever been on the first day of 4-3 and that's the main reason the case frustrates me so much

I obviously realize that they're going for a different, more laidback theme than the previous prosecutors, but he doesn't really come off as an opponent. He also stole the "I realized the witness is the killer halfway through, so I'll help you expose her" move from Edgeworth. Is it so much to ask for a prosecutor who just feels like he's better than you?
- Also, what's with every foreign prosecutor being from Germany?
- I refuse to believe a doctor could mistake an unconscious person for dead under this circumstance, that he'd put the gun with the "corpse," or that a big-time mobster would refuse to use his dirty money to save a son with only a few weeks to live.
- Maybe I missed a perfectly good explanation, but I'm super unclear on why Alita was wearing the clinic's sandals at the time of the murder.
- Bit tired of the "sweet girl reveals she's evil" move, she's the third person to use it.
- However, I do approve of the revelation of Kitaki's dark shadows over his eyes actually just being eyebrows.
- 4-1 starts the game pretty strong, but 4-2 is prettttttttty lame. One of the worst defendants ever (if not the worst), Trucy's kidnapping being completely pointless, the most obvious killer twist ever, and just generally being kind of bad.

Both Edgeworth games have 5 cases apiece. The DGS games also have 5 cases apiece, although there's no patch available for the second game yet as far as I'm aware.

(Layton/AA has 4 cases, just for the record)

You might've thought this because AA6 has two little side-story cases that you can play called "Asinine Attorney." They're really nothing though, just goofy little cutscenes that can be watched in 20 minutes on Youtube, so in the future make sure not to buy those.

Yeah 4-2's defendant is incredibly bad even for this series standards.

It doesn't get worse than that I think.

I actually like Wocky, he's a decent kid at heart who's just under pressure to look cooler than he actually is, I've never really gotten why everyone hates him and I feel like people are just taking him at face value. He is, though, emblematic of a problem with AJ that keeps coming up again and again in this game

Wocky is cute so I can cut him some slack.

The problem is that side of him literally comes out one time the entire case, so the tough guy act wears thin and he comes across as a punk 99% of the time.

And 4-3's defendant is honestly the least of that case's problems.

Alita is great tbh.

Her problem is that she is a bargain bin Dahlia.

But that's a very high standard to compare to so she comes across as a pretty good villain in the end.

I think that so far, the only game not to have "cute girl gets angry and mean" is AA2.
