Would the Ditto even be considered a glitch (as in something PokeBank can check)?

From what I understand the game mistakenly forgets to revert the Ditto's original stats back to what it was as the game thinks it's already a Ditto due to it having transform in its moveset.

It shouldn't, since it's the same as a normal shiny Ditto. There's nothing that should tip off that it's glitched, so you should be able to transfer it no problem.

Yeah, it's only available post Johto, unless you trade one from DPPt. You can get one from winning the Bug Catching Contest and from getting x amount of points in the Pokathlon (which is what I did in HG), but also only after the E4.

Throw a pokeball, they break out and run

throw a rock, they run

I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible because I would hate to run into a shiny here

but I wanted to complete the warden's side quest

The Safari Zone is very simple to understand. They show you Pokemon you might want to catch. They don't let you catch them unless the RNG is in an extremely favourable mood. You get salty. They feed on your tears. Very straightforward.

I've legitimately found four shinies ever besides Red Gyarados - A Butterfree in ye olde Gold version, a Magnemite in Emerald, a Zubat in Fire Red, and Celibi in my VC Crystal playthrough

Using my old Red/Gold carts I did exploit a wild Ditto to force it to be shiny via trading back Red Gyarados then bred myself six shiny Eevees with it so that I could have the full team. The battery for that cart is dead though.

I've found...at least 5. Mostly in Gen VI.

I've always used the cinnabar island/seafoam island trick to get what I wanted from the SZ in Gen 1

I cannot imagine anyone legit catching a Tauros/Chansey/Scyther through normal means

The theory/mechanic is Rock = More likely to run, but increased catch rate if they don't. Bait = less likely to run, but reduced catch rate.

The actual practice is pretty much as Panthera described it though (With the end result basically being "just throw balls immediately and pray, don't bother with anything else")

An Umbreon set up to stall you out can be super annoying. Not so much now but back then, yeah.

And Dark is weak to Fighting and Bug in Gen IV. Gen VI added another weakness when they introduced Fairy. It resists Dark and Ghost and is immune to Psychic.

So i have no real answer to steel, ice, and dark.

My answer to psychics are also answer to dragons, grater and gyarados with their bites. But Dragonis riskier because of their pseudo legendary status and high likelihood of having electric attacks.
My team ain't so great but I had to compromise for hm moves.

Also, that ponyta I caught before the elite four might legit be my first fire type I got
