Flaaffy is probably decent, neutral natures generally work for any in game 'Mon.

Togetic's nature actually makes his best base stat grow faster but he'll be weaker to physical attacks as a result. Still usable.

Onix is bad, especially if you eventually get Steelix. His nature raises Speed growth and lowers Defense growth, but Steelix's defense is his best stat and speed is his worst. Onix and Steelix just suck in general though.

Croconaw has a neutral nature and may have the best possible base attack modifier. Probably quite good!

Nah you can find him again later and IIRC the paralysis stays. They wander the map until you either kill them or capture them, and always run immediately unless you lock them down with status effects or an ability or move that prevents fleeing.

Oh yeah and on the subject of natures you really don't have to worry about it for in game unless they're just utterly badly rolled and then it might be harder to use them.

The Mild and Rash ones have increased Sp Att growth which is good but Mild has decreased Def growth and Rash decreased Sp Def growth. Both usable but might not be able to take hits well from whichever side doesn't grow as well.

Quirky and Docile are neutral natures that don't have increased or decreased growth in any stat. The Docile one may have the highest possible base Speed modifier though.

Of course we can't see the hidden stats so some of this is guesswork.

If it were me I'd probably roll with the Docile one.

Pretty much. If I was looking for an ideal Oddish nature for in game use I'd run Modest or Timid. Bold or Gentle are also good but more defensive. But with 24 natures and no way for you to currently manipulate what natures you're finding I'd settle for neutral.

Also Leaf Stone evolves Oddish into Vileplume. To get a Bellossom, you need a Sun Stone, which you can get by winning the Bug Catching Contest in the National Park (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday iirc) so you can grab it now. Evolving Togetic will only be possible in the post-game, however.

To add to this, you can save before you do it, and just save scum for the win, it's what I'd always do if I was using Bellossom. Pinsir or Scyther can usually win it for you IIRC.

Oh and you want to save the Sun Stone for a while. Bellossom only learns two moves in Gen IV, Magical Leaf at LV23 and Leaf Storm at LV53. ML never misses but only has 60 base power, not really worth it. Leaf Storm is very strong, 140 BP with 90% accuracy but lowers your special attack by two stages with each use.

On the other hand Gloom learns a few more moves on the way up, including Moonlight (LV41) and Giga Drain (LV47) for healing yourself. Then it gets Petal Dance at LV53. 90BP, locks you into the move for 2-3 turns, afterwards the Pokemon is confused. It's also Bellossom's signature move, I usually go with it for that reason alone.

So you have a choice of what you eventually want the main attacking move to be. I'd at least get to 41 for Moonlight. Giga Drain is a TM so no need to go for it unless you're going to 53. .

You could also dump both Leaf Storm and Petal Dance and use the Energy Ball TM for a grass move. 80BP with no downsides. Or do a setup moveset with Sunny Day and Solarbeam TMs.

Bellossom/Vileplume don't have the greatest moveset in Gen IV, you're pretty much going to run Grass move/Sludge Bomb/Moonlight/Filler. Usually my filler is Toxic if I'm not using Sunny Day/Solarbeam.

If you're going to wait until level 40 to evolve your Gloom, you might as well just wait until you beat the Elite Four and buy the Sun Stone from the Pokeathlon on a Friday or Sunday.

I think I'm going to actually do the worst possible outcome and just evolve bellossom as soon as I can. But undeniably Gloom is going to gain a few levels until then. So Blossom will not learn the early moves, and Gloom will not learn the later moves. My reasoning is that I'm going to to teach her cut any ways, I'm going to stick with stun Spore and sleep powder, along with mega drain. I don't really plan on saving technical machines so if I get a giga drain I might just use it on bellossom

So we cleared out the base. Not before having a double battle with Lance. This fight was annoying because Dragonite immediately got paralyzed by Arbok. And his Thunders kept missing. So he'd either misses attacks or get paralyzed. But they did knock out a few of my Pokemon because they were surprisingly strong. Every time that happened, Dragonite would miraculously pull through and kill them. So that means nobody would get the experience. Pain in the ass. He gave me the HM for whirlpool. I was seriously hoping he would give me fly already. When do I get fly. His Dragonite knew fly. I want fly god dammit . Now I need to clear out the gym before I leave. To my dismay it's an ice gym. I have no fire types and Onyx is the only one with a fighting attack. And he's a rock type. This ain't good
