today's tea: 1 pint of experimental blend of assam and chinese black teas. Wow it's good. The subdued but prominent malty richness of Assam goes really well with the sweet richness of chinese black teas. I gotta try perfecting this.

It's probably because of the golden tips in the assam and chinese black tea that I have.

today's tea: 1 pint of rebrewed of previous day's black tea blend. Pretty awful, but still drinkable. Bitterness overpowered the subdued flavors that would otherwise be rich. Lets not that do again.

I like tea a lot but it's hard for me to want to drink hot tea in the summer, rather just drink iced green tea or black tea

I really like the pure leaf mango / peach hibiscus brand tea you buy in a pack of 6, or honest teas. I guess I splurge way too much on those 'fancy' teas.

Boil tea on the stove then when it's done brewing pour it into a heat proof pitcher filled with ice.

What's funny about pure leaf is that it is just lipton, except that they use better quality and ship it brewed. Apparently, if you get lipton tea in Turkey, the biggest tea consumer per capita, you'll get quality tea because tea consumers there actually care about quality.

today's tea: 1 pint of assam/keemun blend. Tastes almost like the chinese black tea blend, but slightly different. Not bad, but still slightly disappointed that it wasn't more. Actually, it does taste better than the Chinese black tea blend. Hopefully the tippy one doesn't disappoint.

I'm obsessed with booze.

today's tea: 1 pint of new yunnan black tea. It's quite different than the other yunnan that I love. I think it's more similar to the daohongpao oolong I have than the other yunnan. It's not as strong, but has other subtle flavors coming through.

2nd brew of the other yunnan black tea, I noticed that it's got a similar flavor of the thai black tea that I have.

today's tea: 1 pint of tippy assam+keemun. It's pretty good. Guessing from looks, there's like 1 tip per 6-10 leafs. Surprised how much difference the tips make. Tips are cool. I might have to try a tea that's pure tips some point, but it's just so much more expensive.

Today's tea: last of the 4 new teas I bought. It's the snail tea, and tasting it, it tastes familiar but slightly different. Read a little more about it, and it's grown near Keemun. Figures. Guess I goofed getting variety because 3/4 of the teas are from Keemun. Well, at least everything Keemun I've tried, I've liked. I've brewed 2 pints, haven't tasted the 2nd pint yet, it's the 2nd brewing and it's in a thermos for later.

Drinking the 2nd brewing right now. Tastes like the thai black tea, but even smoother. It's surprisingly good. I usually don't like the 2nd brew very much because it tastes like the 1st brew but watered down, but with this, its got an interesting nuance that seems to come through well when it's lacking full body.

today's tea: 2 pints of tippy keemun+assam black tea. I put the 1st brew in my thermos, and just drank the 2nd brewing right now. I realize now that the 2nd brewing tastes very similar to an oolong now that I didn't disappoint myself with the rich brew first. It's not bad, but I'm such a fiend for rich brew.

today's tea: 2 pints of Sencha. I don't know if it's because green tea gets stale, but the vegetal flavor of the sencha was a bit subdued. The 2nd brewing... tastes like that thai black tea, but not as rich.

What do you think of the masala chai?

I tried twinings spicy chai and it was pretty much spot on with the tea my mom would make on special occasions when I was growing up. Couple tsp of sugar and that stuffs divine imo.

I drink masala chai with some regularity. I've only had it made from myself, so I always have a curiosity if I'm actually doing it right or not. I use a premade mix that has typical CTC black tea and no flavorings, and I made it by boiling water+mix, and reboiling after adding milk.

today's tea: 2 pints of yunnan black tea. I think I like my old Yunnan more, but this one is still good. I don't know how I'm going to distinguish these two with words. The new one is more floral/delicate, and has big broad leaves. The older one is more honey/sweet, and has tips.

Have you ever heard of Oolong Tea? It's my fave. I'm sure there's much better ones in the world, but the bottled stuff at Trader Joe's is Phnom-Nohn.

Yea, I've heard of oolong. Oolong is the most popular style of tea in China. I still prefer black, and if not black, then green. I like strong flavor. Probably no coincidence, I like IPAs a lot.

Yeah, I went through an IPA phase too until I realized that I don't really like the taste of a mouthful of pennies that repeats on me for most of the day after a six pack.

Do love me some straight Earl grey or an Irish breakfast tea though.

2 pints of darjeeling. I still have some from my sampler darjeeling pack. Tastes significantly more pleasant than the other Darjeeling I have.

today's tea: 1 pint of chinese black tea blend. Man, I guess I really spoiled myself in my exploration of tea. This used to be my favorite tea, but now it's a really average tea. And I still have so much of it left. I mentioned it a long while ago, I ordered 8 oz. of it and they sent me a pound, so I couldn't complain.

1 pint of uva ceylon black tea with milk and sugar. I was trying to drink more of the stuff I don't drink often. Confirmed still don't like it very much. Its naturally minty flavor doesn't really appeal to me.

1 pint of tippy yunnan. Why do I bother with other teas if this is so much better than most of all the teas I ever try? So I can find a tea that wows me like this one.
