Today's tea so far: 1 pint of keemun black tea. It's got a pleasant aroma. A rich body, minimal bitterness, but a strong mouthfeel. Kinda odd, because most teas with astringency has some bitternesss to it. There is a distinctness to it's flavor, I'll try describing it when I try it again. I like this, but I'm still a little disappointed that it wasn't amazingly good. Maybe I gotta brew it weaker so the astringency isn't too strong.

Assam tea is has a rich body, and malty. I pretty much describe any tea where maltiness is the predominant flavor as assam-like. It can have a heavy mouthfeel, otherwise known as astringency. If you brew it too hard, it can be harshly bitter, which can easily happen with tea bags. Most generic black tea is typically based off of Assam. I don't typically add milk and/or sugar because I prefer the flavors of straight, unadulterated black tea, but milk/sugar makes unpleasant black tea, pleasant.

Thank you . After the coronovirus will pass I will get some of the tea . Can't wait for loose ceylon tea .

Unfortunately for me, Jasmine tea was disappoint. My mind is tainted, so I can't help but think of jasmine/flowery soap when I drink jasmine tea. I would still drink it, but it doesn't bring me joy.

The worst tea I've had was hibiscus tea. The acidity invokes the taste of vomit, and that's crazy to me because I've never tasted anything else that I would say tastes like vomit.

I am not fan of Hibiscus tea as well , unfortunately it is present almost everywhere for some reason .

I haven't tried dandelion tea nor Echinacea because I've never heard of it. Surprising amount of herbal teas in the world.

Yesterday night's tea: 1 pint of Yunnan black tea.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Tanzanian black tea for work, 1.5 pints of Keemun tea at home. Was sniffing the tanzanian tea like a dog, trying to understand what it smells like. It clicked in my head how it can smell like honey. I still don't understand how some teas have citrus as a descriptor for flavor/aroma. The keemun tea, the leaf is small and broken, which is probably why it brewed astringent last time.

There is really a lot of herbal teas , right now I like to use spearmint tea which is not as aromatic as peppermint tea and has the same benefits since it's cross between peppermint and watermint .

The quality organic version of peppermint is way different from the regular peppermint , the regular peppermint has overpowering aromatic flavor that reminds of toothpaste , but that is just artificial flavor , sadly some organic teas add artificial flavors secretly so you just need to try several brands .
The real peppermint flavor is not as strong , quite helpful to use after heavy meal to put your palate back to shape .
That said ... I prefer the spearmint , cause it has natural sweeter taste , mild aroma and same benefits .

Got carried away about herbal teas ...... lol

Btw ... how do you drink your Earl Grey or other black teas ?

I cannot stop adding fresh lemon or orange during the Winter
I have to say it changes the tea and sometimes I do enjoy the little bitter flavor of the Earl Grey without anything just a spoon of sugar , but mostly can't avoid the lemon , for me it's like a milk for others .

When I do drink the Ceylon tea tho I don't add anything but sugar , same with any other teas .... never thought of it ...weird .. probably somethink about the flexibility of the Earl Grey perhaps ?..

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Chinese black tea blend. Trying to put thoughts together from re-evaluating it. It is lighter in body compared to the other teas I've recently evaluated. This is what medium bodied black tea is. A degree of richness that isn't too prominent, and lighter/floral flavors have a presence. I like black teas because of how rich the flavor is. Darjeeling are the only light bodied black teas that I can think of.

I don't typically add anything to my tea because it's good already, and the other stuff either changes it to something very different that I don't find as good, or detracts from taste that I want.

Milk+sugar with masala chai.

If I'm out and about and the not home cabinet tea is kinda unpleasant, milk and sugar.

Yesterday nights tea: 1 pint of yunnan+keemun black tea. Nothing exceptional came from brewing them together. They just make each other's subtleties more subtle, but it was still a smooth cup of tea.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Rwandan black tea, 1.5 pints of Masala Chai.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Yunnan black tea, 2 pints of longjing green tea. This one's been sitting in my cabinet for a while, since I've been binging on black tea for a long while. It's pretty good, despite that I think it got a little stale from being in my cabinet for so long. It's got a very faded green color. I should switch it up with green tea more often.

Yesterday's tea: 1 pint of Tanzanian black tea. I brewed it weak. Its distinct flavors came through, but it really lacked body.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Yunnan tea. Brewed to perfection. Full bodied, rich, and no astringency or bitterness. It was a perfect pint of tea.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Keemun black tea. Medium bodied, with some richness, and most surprisingly, sometimes, it's got floral notes coming through, like a darjeeling. minimal bitterness or astringency.

Also, I've just realized a gross miscalculation. One of the mugs I use looks bigger than the other mugs I use. They typically hold 12 fl oz., and my other big one holds 18 fl oz. I had assumed this was the same size as the other big one, but it in fact holds 24 fl oz. So when I've been brewing tea with this mug, the brew is at most, 66% as strong as typical. This is probably the major factor behind why the same tea tastes noticeably different.

The above is a listing for a tea I have drank for a long time. Its made of reishi fungus. This tea can be off putting to some as of course they think of the other types of mushroom tea that makes the walls talk. These are in a bag which is convient for those without a proper strainer or ball. Just please make sure that if you do try it that your not affected by mushrooms as I dont want you cursing me with your dying roll of toilet paper.

No but seriously this is a mild tasting tea similar to a dark oolong however it is much sweeter due to compounds in the mushrooms.

Tonight's tea: 1 pint of chinese black tea blend. Is life just so arbitrary? The past few days of tea has been less than ideal. It's been good, but not very good. There's always something more to be desired, some quality of to the tea that I wanted to be better. And every subsequent pint I brew, was unable to capture the quality I desire. And it makes me question myself, Do I even like this stuff? And those questionable feelings are now void, because the pint I just brewed without much thought was exceptionally good.
