Bought another pound of tea.

I got (all black teas):
2nd flush Darjeeling
Assam with golden tips
Yunnan with golden tips again
Lapsang Souchong aka smoked tea
Ceylon, Uva region (uniquely astringent, atypical?)

Yesterday's tea: 1 pint of yunnan black tea, 1 pint of green tea from the sampler pack, called Lushan yunwu, or Mount Lu cloud tea. I don't drink enough green tea to be able to put into words their nuances. It was a good cup of green tea.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint rebrewed green tea from last night.

Today's tea: shipment came. 1 pint of Darjeeling black tea. I think I keep setting my expectations too high. This was not bad, but I was disappointed that it wasn't better. It tasted like a darjeeling, and that was it. In some regards, it's more similar to the weird Nilgiri that I have than the other Darjeeling that I've had. At least it wasn't as bad as the teabag darjeeling that I had that didn't even taste like a darjeeling.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Ceylon Uva black tea, 1 pint of Assam black tea.

So Uva is a specific region in Sri Lanka. The distinguishing feature of this specific tea is that the tea plant here makes the same chemical as the mint plant. It's not anywhere as minty as actual mint, or stuff like mint flavored anything. It is enough to be noticeable. I find that the mint flavor doesn't really add any enjoyment to the tea, but at least it's not disagreeable. I can still taste the tea, which can't be said for a lot of actually flavored teas.

This Assam tastes like Assam. Rich and malty. I like it a bit more than the other Assam that I've had because there was more nuance than just being malty, but I wasn't amazed.

I think I've grown too fond of chinese black teas to really like nuances of black teas from other regions. But these were all first impressions. Maybe I'll eventually brew a perfect pint out of these new teas at some point.

Today's tea: 1 pint of smoked black tea, 1 pint of keemun black tea. So wow, the smoked tea was kinda bad. I've had one before from my chinese tea sampler pack and I remembered it to be good and interesting. This had an overwhelming smoky aroma, and the actual taste of the tea was not only not reflective of it's aroma, but it tasted off and bland. I don't think I can find myself to like this. Still better than puerh, but not by much.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of keemun black tea. I was questioning myself why I even like this stuff when it was really hot, and only certain flavors are coming through. When it cooled down a bit, its richness finally comes through and I'm very happy. Why did I ever doubt my fondness for tea.

Tonight's tea: 1 pint of Sencha. I really want to try gyokuro some point.

TOMORROW'S TEA: 1 pint of Tanzanian black tea. I'm going to be slightly experimenting for a bit. I'm going to try and find which black tea of mine makes the best iced tea. I took a big sip before refrigerating it. Had to resist the idea of drinking it all right there and then. It's 130 am.

Today's tea: 1 pint of masala chai, 1 pint of Tanzanian iced black tea. It was ok. It was far better than any other unsweetened iced tea I've had, but I guess since I'm accustomed to iced tea being sweet, I should have tried adding sugar. Mildly bitter, and the other flavors were noticably subdued. I think I would have preferred it room temperature, because I really liked the sip I had before i refrigerated it.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Assam black tea. I think the chinese teas have been making me soft, because I don't really like the strong maltiness that much. Chinese black teas have a sweet taste to it somehow despite adding no sugar.

Today's tea: 1 pint Assam black tea, with milk+sugar. Aside from Masala chai, probably the best pint of tea I've had with milk+sugar. I usually only do this with bagged black tea because their bitterness is overwhelming if taken straight. Turns out if you use higher quality ingredients, you'll get a better cup of tea.

Tonight's tea: 1 pint of rebrewed Assam black tea, plain. It's got a hint of assam maltiness, and the generic spent tea flavor. 1 cup of rebrewed yunnan black tea. It's got a hint of it's yunnan nuance, and a hint of generic spent tea flavor. Probably helped that I overbrewed it, and it's hard to overbrew tea on a 2nd steeping.

Tomorrow's tea: 1 pint of yunnan black tea, iced.

Today's tea: 1 pint of yunnan black tea. I can't help but think about how good and satisfying it is so often every time I drink it.

I don't think there's really much of a difference betwen a stove top kettle or electric one. Well, my electric one turns off when it's boiling, so I can set it, take a poo, and don't have to worry about it finishing before I'm done.

I've got thermos, and I don't think I would need a built in infuser. You only need to infuse for 3-5 minutes. My filter works prefectly fine.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of iced black tea, Ceylon Uva. This was pretty good. The minty nuance of this tea is really nice as a cold beverage. Still wish the normal tea flavors comes through more. I would brew this stronger, but it already peaks at what I find acceptable for astringency.

Today's tea: 1 pint of flavored tea, 1 pint of thai black tea. Haven't had either in a long while. the flavored one tastes pretty good with sugar, but I don't really consider it to taste like tea though. The thai one is a very mellow black tea, like as if it's half green/white tea. Tastes better than I remembered.

Not sure if trolling, that blender with tea, lol.

The tea isn't going to brew that way. It takes time for the tea compounds to infuse into the water. temperature greatly affects the rate that it happens. Hence, you use boiling or near boiling water + a few minutes of steeping.

You can try cold brewing tea. It takes 12 hours, give or take a few hours depending on your taste. 1 teabag per 8 oz of water, and let it sit in room temperature or colder water.
