The happiness of loading a file that is saved at a trial break and not having to hear "I'm Monomi!"

lol at the stab at Square.

Ok so Maki didn'ty it before because she didn't want to reveal she had Ryoma's video. Not completely dumb, but still very uncooperative. She might get executed for this stuff eventually.

The lie mechanic returns. That's a very weird mechanic for this series, imo. Wonder if Shuichi will ever have to pay for it.

Shuichi makes some shit up and Kaito follows. And what is the best is that he's probably describing something that actually happened, he just didn't see it himself. This is a classic Phoenix bluff right here.

If this doesn't break Maki's ice queen side, nothing will. Expect her to mellow out from next chapter onwards.

Everyone's lives depend on Kaito's people reading skills. Which are admitelly good, but it's kind of silly that this is a thing. Well, that's Danganronpa for ya.

Kokichi is seeing right through it, though.

I guess it will take a Debate Scrum to finally get to the pool thing.

The music for Debate Scrum is pretty good. Makes it a whole lot more dramatic. Though the most dramatic was when Kaede was calling people's names to help her save Shuichi. RIP Kaede.

Is every case going to have a section where people yell "easy, Gonta could have done it with his strength"? Cuz I think it's funny.

Maki unleashing the cold, hard truths. Yes, focus on who made the kill, and how the kill happened. Enough with this piranha crap already. It has "diversion" written all over it.

Gonta: "Then... the culprit is someone in this room!" Never change, Gonta.

The pool... was also a diversion. He was killed in his sink.

Sonia/Monophanie's dub sounds like she is having a lot of fun with this stuff.

Psyche... Taxi. Why?

Ok so this is basically Logic Dive: GTA Edition. And much longer too, because we definitely needed that (sarcasm).

Leon could have done it without a rope imo.

Gonta knowledgeable about climbing rope. Gonta knows his Donkey Kong skills.

Miu gets off at being insulted, and Kokichi is giving all of it. Not sure if want.

lol at Tsumugi with "Tarzan?"

Kaito is a better motivator than Nekomaru, damn. This sidekick thing he made up is really effective, because it helps Shuichi shine without feeling burdened about being the hero.

Didn't know the English word "ropeway" existed. DR is also culture.

Ok I think this series has officially gone overboard with the minigames. Mind Mine?

Wow this is one complicated kill alright. Definitely not Gonta's work lol.

LOL at Monosuke spoiling the game.

I love Monodam. Even though it's hard to take him seriously with that Byakuya voice, lol.

"Then why did the culprit leave the inner tube in the pool". Because she's Tenko. She can't swim. We can all go home now.

It's not that? Meh.

Oh yeah nighttime. I somehow forgot that in my rush to blame Tenko.

Ok so this mega case is now totally explained yet I don't see connection to any specific killer.

Ok so the culprit is a genius. I guess... Miu, then?

I didn't know a character who I once described as "Kazuichi done better" could break into my Top 3 but Kaito is making a serious case for it.

Tried to guess Angie. Kokichi told me I'm wrong, then said "remember everyone's alibis, they had to set up the mechanism at the gym".

Okay, so we just go back to the previous 4-man crew? But this was a set up on either Kaito or Maki. Which leaves us with Kirumi and Miu. Only one of them went to the gym.

Peko is gonna die in Chapter 2 again. Didn't think the game would do it, but here we are. Now I wanna hear the motivation.

Yes, it would have to be someone maniac like Kirumi to set up this monster of a case.

Got a game over here because I didn't know what phrase I should have shot the "everyone's alibis" thing on. It's not very intuitive.

Kirumi confessed to being at the gym for 5 minutes to look more trustworthy, but in the end that was her downfall.

Kirumi turned blue, wow.

She can lie, though. And lieing about Kaede. That's mean.

Ok I know this is almost over but it's way past bedtime for me and I don't wanna rush it. See you guys tomorrow.

This might be the most perfect crime in the series so far (besides 2-5). Yet she ruined it because she decided to casually mention she went to the gym early in the trial.

That and the whole "I believe in Maki!" thing which is not really her fault. Can't fight against anime weirdness.

Kirumi has the support of the masses. That makes her a hard opponent to take down.

Oh so the piece of black cloth is from Kirumi's glove. And Is thinking it was from Ryoma's clothers. Yeah, that's indeed a danming piece of evidence she should have thought about in advance.

Monokubs having an envinmentalist debate out of no fucking where. Lol.

lol at Monokuma finding out the cubs switched the videos.

lmao MAGA reference

So Kirumi was literally the government.

And she became it toave Japan from The Plot.

End Wall? Whats that

Damn Ryoma you're such a bro. Why do you have to give me feels like that?

This game is considerably better at the previous two at the feels thing, damn.

Ryoma had no ne important to him. Monokuma, you are savage.

This turned very dark very fast.

And Kaito continues to be the best bro.

And an Atua-danmed idiot.

The execution was very clever. She died from too much trying. It's similar to Chiaki's real life execution. And RIP Monosuke, I guess. So this is going to be a pattern, huh.

Kokichi is acting like he had a change of heart but I don't buy it. Then again, I've never fully bought his evil self either. I think he's some damaged guy hiding behind an asshole disguise.

Gonta is saying the stars have changed, so they are probably not near Japan anymore.

This is one of those cases where the culprit absolutely fucked up the perfect crime by framing someone. She absolutely should have just left Ryoma's body in the sink, and nobody would have found out who did it, even if they would have never actually bought it being a suicide.

However, I do actually get the logic in framing Himiko, because the investigation being done in mind with Himiko as a prime suspect could have been worth the gamble, since she's not exactly a serial murderer, but is smart enough to assume she didn't commit a perfect crime.

Meteors raining down and ending the world. Still a better fate than the stuff Junko did, imo.

Title is interesting. Transfer student from beyond the grave? We we get a new student in the game?

People are worried there is an assassin among them. Well, we had an Ultimate Serial Killer and an Ultimate Yakuza (not to mention Peko who was an assassin too), so this is not a huge deal.

Rise and Shine Ursine sounds weird now that Monosuke isn't around.

Monodam is leading the kubs in a revolution against their father. I don't think this is gonna work.

Tsumugi, don't be too sad that you are average. Being an Ultimate sucks in this series. You're cool.

A door just broke like videogame pixels. Because.

Sorry Gonta, you can't be the mask dude from Sailor Moon.

Did I just see Monosuke's ghost? lol, and I thought I'd never see the dead kubs again.

Whats up with this creep wall that looks like a hall?

Another katana with gold plating that comes off easily. Of course.

I think there's about a 50% chance Kiyo is gonna channel Cthulhu if left alone in this lab witout supervision.

They are going to use those dark arts to talk to Rantaro, aren't they?

I was expecting Angie's lab to have a giant statue of Atua but this is pretty normal.

There is only one key to Angie's lab. Yay for closed room murders! This doesn't look good for Angie, though.

Monodam ate it to avoid that scenario. Phew.

But ANgie can still lok it from the inside, and now we are going over the designs of the doorknobs. Yup, you can't stop murder.

Seems like Tenko is actually trying to develop, huh.

Himiko says she still got a ways to go. Gotta kee Ryoma's torch alive.

Tenko is somewhat decent when she's in her element, I guess.

Keeo and Miu are... dating? I think I'll ship it.

I'm... not sure if I wanna ship that. I think I need some brain bleach. So does Shuichi.

Oh ok so the fake hallway was one of the puzzle spots.

Monodam is now the dictator of bear kingdom. All obey Monodam.

Keebo doesn't know about computers. But he can do comedy shows! A fair trade.

Poor Maki. guess it will take a while her to mellow out. The good news is that her odds of lasting through the whole game have skyrocketed. Told ya her character looked full of potential.

The funeral scene again. Nothing new here.

So... will the game ever let me get free time with Maki?

Tried my hand at the casino minigames. Not very impressed. Yes, they are rigged in your favor, but it's also hard to get any substantial profit without lots of grinding. Slot machine has low prizes, except for the 7s one that never comes up. The taxi and the salmon ones are incredibly boring, albeit profiable. The Mine one is a little fun, and decently profitable, but at the end of the day, none of those games let you bet more than 99, so even if you win all the time, it's still a bunch of grinding to be done to get everything.

The game only lets me play the Gentle versions of the games though I wonder if better ones will be available later.

Free time with Keebo. He tries to show his functions. I'm not very impressed. Truth is, the most impressive function is that he even exists.

Angie is scheming something. Her death flag looms on the sky as she insists on continuing to be relevant.

Maki joins us for night training. This is gonna be fun.

Not even her can reist Kaito's motivation powers. I think I might ship it.

She is way better than both of us at push-ups. I guess the girl can probably do some crazy acrobatics when she's out chasing and killing people, so this is nothing for her.

Monodams now owns Monokuma Theater. All is well.

Kiyo is proviving random details about what time he wakes up normally. Noted.

Man, everybody is being an ass to Maki, huh.

Did Keebo and Tsumugi also join the Cult of Atua? This is getting scary.

Called it. Not only they can talk to the dead, but they can bring someone back.

Ok, let's go over them. I'm a fan of Ryoma but he is not important. Kirumi may seem important because she is prime-minister, but in the world of Danganronpa, that's probably not important anymore.

Kaede and Rantaro are the only choices worth considering. Kaede is this game's Ultimate Hope, her presence in this cast more or less doubles their chance of victory. Rantaro, on the other hand, knows shit, and is connected to the plot. He may be pivotal for their victory, even more than Kaede.

Assuming this ressurection thing even works and is not a sham, I give it 99% chance it's gonna be Rantaro, tbh. Kaede's death was too impactful to be reversed, and the other two had their stories already. No, he is the major character who got wasted in Chapter 1. It's gonna be him. I somehow think this might come with a price and he might die again later, though.

The fact people can even be ressurected raises huge questions about the nature of this academy. It's between simulation or afterlife for me. Or maybe magic is just real, after all.

So Keebo joined the cult, and Tenko/Tsumugi seem to have too.

Now she's converting Gonta. Someone stop her.

A student council, huh. And she's got half the student body in it already. I'm hyped to see it fail to prevent its members from becoming murderers.

Free time again. We didn't get to have an argument over who to bring back yet. Meh.

Very minor spoilers that you will probably want to read, but just in case, they're spoiler barred: You can right now, actually.

By the way, I'm almost positive what DeepsPraw said is a lie, at least from what I remember. I'm pretty sure C's get you your money back and B's get you like 20% extra. Even if you suck really hard and get a D, you still get 80% back of what you wagered, so once you get really good at a game, you will basically never lose money, and when you do, it's such a minuscule amount that it really doesn't matter.

I Tried to do Free Time with Himiko but even when I give her a gift she likes, no dialogue happens afterwards. I load the save and try again with someone else.

Free time with Gonta. He invites me to a "race". It doesn't really work.

Free time with Maki, finally. I discover she's basically one of Faceless Men from ASoIaF.

Monokuma is still furless. You know, the problem I have with those alternate mascots is that they mean less Monokuma. And he was such a force in DR1 that I miss him sometimes.

Training with only Maki. The character development continues. She is even colder than Kyoko. She implies some backstory about how she was modeled into an assassin against her will.

The cult is now restricting people's night activity. And further bullying Maki. At this point I think Angie needs to die or she'll quickly descend into the bottom spot of my rankings. And/or ruin the whole cast.

No, seriously, she and her cult have become such a dominating presence in this story that it's pretty much guaranteed they will disbanded before this chapter ends, otherwise it could ruin the cast's cohesion. And the easiest way to do that is by having Angie die.

I get an appointment help Kiyo organize his lab. I actually like the idea, Kiyo as been a very unassuming character in the game so far, despite his weird-ass design. I wanna see what his character really is about.

Somehow Miu is ranking among the least weird characters in the game right now, thanks to the cult.

The kids are fighting. I'm here thinking they want to lock Maki in her room or something, but it turns out they just locked that manhole.

That's not that big a deal? mean, we are not escaping through THAT. But I guess you could say it's a symbol of Kaede's hope, and they are disrespecting it.

Angie hugging people has become a gag at this point.

Tsumugi worships Atua because he can look like a cool anime character. Relatable.

Angie broke the flashback lights. Holy shit. She's becoming the scariest antagonist since Junko, tbh.

And now she wants to sacrifice people. Yep, this girl is the next victim, there's no way around it.

At least they picked the right guy to revive, albeit they did it for dumbass reasons.

Sorry, Kokichi. You can't win. They have Gonta. The six of you will need to use brains if you wanna win this, not brawn.

Turns out DR1 is an actual anime inside this verse.

Kokichi bringing up that Shuichi would want to bring Kaede. But the cult thing took over the plot in such a way they won't even bother argue who to revive. Meh, that would have been interesting to watch [Kiyo mode].

Free time with Kiyo. He gives me a lecture on what anthropology is. This was very interesting, actually.

Tenko seems like she's not 100% sold on this cult thing. It's just her desperate shot at making Himiko like her.

Seems like anyone in the student council is off-limits for Free Time. So I'll have to repeat someone. Hi, Kokichi.

Kokichi asks me if I would like to play a game to convince him to spare my life. The negative options sound like something Shuichi would say, but I wanna see the game. We play some mock version of Yu-Gi-Oh. LOL.

Shuichi, Kaito and Maki are a great protagonist trio. I mean, Shuichi is pretty vanilla, but the other two have opposing personalities that complement Shuichi and each other really well. This game has a fantastic cast, that's what I mean.

Also this trio thing is a classic dynamic in storytelling (reminds of Harry Potter), but DR has never had it so far. Until now it was just the protagonist and a bunch of people who weren't really close to him, with the exception of the Best Girl. But here the Best Girl died, and we are seeing different dynamics forming.

If Maki dies because she left to train alone I'm gonna be very mad.

Well, I guess I'm safe training with Maki, long as they don't bring Gonta. Even Gonta might be too scared to touch her, judging from the bug meet and greet thing. Tenko is likely not a match, either. And the rest can't fight. But if they ganged up it would be troublesome.

Tenko comes. I think she wants to betray the cult. Damn Tenko, don't make me question my hate towards you!

Fuck, I'm kind of liking Tenko now. It's official, this game does not have any terrible characters (I guess Tenko still ranks "bad"). We've come a long way since the dark days of Toko and Hiro.

Tenko with the classic "I just caught these prisoners so I'm taking them in" ruse. Be glad Tsumugi is not here, she would identify the trope in a heartbeat.

50% chance Angie is already dead in her room. Bonus points if Rantaro is with her. And he's not killer. A case worthy of Ace Attorney.

Angie is not dead. Yet.

EVERYBODY IS HERE! In 3D, to boot. Hey Angie, you are supposed to bring people back to life, not make statues of them or whatever those are.

Okay, but why 4 statues? The kubs said it was only one allowed. I'm halfway expecting the book to explode if you try a second time.

They try to convince Angie, and obviously fail. And make no attempt of using force against her. This was pointless.

I haven't seen a group morale this bad since DR3. Angie is really that dangerous.

I'm sorry, Tenko. But I think in this situation you had to choose between getting your crush or staying true to yourself. And you picked the later. It's not easy, though.

Maki Roll is now a canon name. Sorry, Maki.

Daaaaaaaw Kaito is scared of ghosts. Poor dude.

Time to to to Angie's lab again. I think the chance of bodies is something like 80% now.

Angie won't come out of her lab. Yup, she dead.

I love how there is a whole lore on the possible meanings of Monophanie's puke.

RIP Angie. You were way better a character than I thought you would be at the beginning, but the cult thing meant you had to go. May Atua receive your soul.

I'm disappointed nobody was ressurected, though. Damn.

Kiyo wants to use seances to talk with the victim. Hmm... where have I seen that before...

Ok so five of them will lock themselves in a dark room to perform a seance. A dark room with a small hole to the room beside it that could be used as evidence in cases.

On Case. Fucking. Three.

Someone gun die.

By the way, I'm almost positive what DeepsPraw said is a lie, at least from what I remember. I'm pretty sure C's get you your money back and B's get you like 20% extra. Even if you suck really hard and get a D, you still get 80% back of what you wagered, so once you get really good at a game, you will basically never lose money, and when you do, it's such a minuscule amount that it really doesn't matter.

okay I looked up the payouts

for mean (the highest difficulty)
max bet:9999
S x10
AAA x4
AA x2
A x1.5
BBB 1
BB x0.9
B x0.8
CCC x0.5
CC x0.2
C x0

So you need at least an A for it to even be worth your while. and getting an A on mean is no easy task. eventually you get good enough at Salmon Run to get an S or A every time, but it takes some practice

for normal difficulty, max bet is 999 and payouts are shifted down a tier, with B being the break-even point and S rank only giving a x5 payout (useless when the max bet is only 999)

"Isn't that Sherlock Homo's job"? lmao.

I was about to say Tenko is such an obvious suspect it's definitely not her. And Tsumugi brings it up faster than I can remember to type it. Tenko will get to live another chapter thanks to the magic of plot expectations.

If not Tenko, then it's either Kiyo or Himiko. They are also my top two candidates for a second victim, assuming there is one. Everyone else is either too important or not important enough, particularly in this chapter.

Yes, I know we are already in the investigation and had a body announcement, but nothing is sacred in this series. I'll believe there is not another victim when I see everyone alive in the courtroom.

Characters are quickly bringing up both the possibilities of a council or a non-council member doing it, just to make sure we don't start eliminating suspects yet.

I love closed room murders.

The damn gold plated sword comes up again.

Why is only Kaede's effigy impaled? Weird.

I'm gonna bet Kokichi hanged the effigies, just for the lulz, Byakuya style.

Shuichi and Maki are joking at each other about assassinations. She's a nakama now, it's official.

Kiyo is going to place himself under a cage covered with white sheet in a dark room. It's like those people don't know what type of setting they are in!

No, he's gonna place Tenko under it. And here goes our "obvious" suspect.

Tenko don't be a sweetheart just when you're about to die. Damn.

Yes, Kokichi, don't jynx them by talking about body discovery announcements.

This seance song thing is very creepy.

Crash! Either Tenko has just been crushed by a statue, or something else.

Eh... why are they still singing? Did they not hear the crash sound?

This shit is so weird it gives me a Steam achivement.

RIP Tenko. You were a bad character, but you managed not to be completely terrible torwards the end. May Atua get your soul, too.

Aaaand those dumbass bears are gonna bring Monokuma back because they don't know the rules for double murders. Tbh I don't think Monokuma does either, he always makes this stuff up on the fly.

So if there are two killers, the second one is not a blackened? It would be interesting if someone gets to kill in this game and stay alive afterwards (though they don't get to leave). Of course, the scenarios we saw in 1-3 and 2-3 are still possible, too.

Sorry Monodam, but there is a reason the one who went to CBX was your father, not you.

Another possible scenario is Tenko killed Angie then commited suicide. Kind of makes sense given Tenko's arc so far.

Keebo has lights now. At this rate he'll probably be as useful a smartphone before the game ends.

Eh... why is Keebo's light considered evidence? Did he kill Tenko? I'm getting 2-1 vibes with the underground moving and stuff.

Poor Kiyo, your whole seance thing was ruined by the plot.

"C***-Fu". Miu's nicknames never get old.

I.... I..... fucking love Kokichi. This was one of the most amazings scenes in all of Danganronpa. Fucking troll.

Yes, Keebo, reveal that you hear voices. Because we need some motive to explain why you killed Tenko after the game gave that away.

The buff Monokuma statue breaking a vase and pointing to the screen never gets old.

Ok, guess time. Tenko killed Angie and Keebo killed Tenko.
