You have a program that has items programmed into it. You select the full list or a pool either manually or at random, and pick between two (or there's an option for four) selected by the program at random until you have a winner. We here on B8 have made many for a variety of popular subjects, some broad, others more specific. Search gauntlet on the topic list and you'll learn more. This was a big thing from like 2012-2014. Lots of fun, lots of drama, a nice little clique formed out of it too.

B8 basically had a thing where you get a group of 8 people or however many, and after you throw away one of the two, you pass the hat to the next person. So you get varying results cause person x happens to be the only person who hates danger Dave, and then chooses to kill him and save random 2nd boot guy.

Think it's fascinating that Jonathan Libby's already out and Wanda Shirk hasn't shown yet despite being in similar non-contestant situations.

I still remember the absolute cringeworthy "singing" on the boat...

Wanda was memorable and kinda fun/quirky.

Jonathan was boring AND a douche, and even generic-looking at that. So he was both bad AND bland and that's just about the worst combo you can be.

Wanda has also become kind of a cult superstar thanks to Josh Wigler and RHAP.

I rewatched both of Cochran's seasons last year and as a former fan, I found him to be truly awful in South Pacific and painfully gamebotty in the second half of Caramoan. The only time he was good was in the first half of Caramoan.

I just want it noted for the record that I don't like the low Angie Layton placement.

I didn't participate when the call went out since I didn't feel confident to accurately rate a good chunk of contestants, I mean it's been so many years for most of those seasons, figured I'd leave it for the super fans and experts... but I never forgot Angie. And her cookies, I mean love of cookies.

Also surprised Alina Wilson's name hasn't dropped yet and very much expecting it soon, though I remember she had another superfan around here so hopefully his rating is keeping her afloat...!

Lyrsa was kinda lame after the second episode, and was ultimately overshadowed by a much better character of the exact same archetype the very next season. Mike White is also kinda lame and got super gamey at the end.

Nick wasn't bad. There were no outright bad characters in that season. Even my least favorite, Alison, gets that spot because she was a bit whiny and annoying in the last few episodes but overall she still probably escapes my bottom 3rd of all time.
