Pitbull ft. Blake Shelton - Get Ready: 5. It's not really my thing at all--I tend to be brutally harsh to songs with repetitive choruses and "Whoa, get ready (bam-ba-lam)" repeated 24 times is certainly more repetitive than some songs I've given failing grades too and I have no real connection to the lyrics or video... but I have no objection to Pitbull or Blake's voice, nor to the band backing them. It's practically the definition of "fine"; I'll likely never go out of my way to hear it again, but I wouldn't say I disliked it.

Kat Deluna - Drop It Low: 2. ...When I made that previous write-up, I wasn't entirely expecting the following song to serve as an example of a song with repetitive lyrics that I disliked, but here we are.

I tried looking into some other songs of hers (since any complaint I'd have would be directed only at this specific song and I wanted to find something nicer to post), though I'm not seeing anything I'm a big fan of. The Spanish version of "Run the Show" did intrigue me a little bit?

MuMenkyo - Junky Night Town Orchestra: 4; I mean it does some things I like. There's definitely enough darkness out of what garbled translations I can find, the reference to China White is an unexpected callback (yeah, yeah, this song is talking about drugs and not the songs), it's kinda impressive this song is already getting covers (the original only came out in December), and her voice isn't bad... but it's not quite my thing.

Words on a Blank Page: 6.999~. 7 feels too high, 6.9 feels too low, the song exists somewhere in an infinitely small space between the two values.

"Like a bird locked in an empty box, my screams become rain and drench my heart".

Perhaps a bit too overly metaphorical (I still prefer Duvet's bluntness and it's not particularly close), but it's still a nice lyric. I don't know that Ruri's voice or avatar are suited to that sort of lyric though...

Buttercup Flowers: 6.6; it's interesting and I enjoy listening to it. His whispered singing in particular grabs my attention.

quiet room: 6.5? The lyrics require a bit more contemplation than I have time to give them right now, but I think I like it.

color: 6. It's different and kinda nice.

Crab Pulsar (SuperNova mix): 6.5. It's consistently above average in all respects, but there's no specific moment or thing it does that I really love. It's just, ya know, good.

And I think I'll break here for the night.

Colorless: 7. I love her appearance, to a point that I had to go check out the other two songs on her channel... this is pretty definitively the best one (though Jingle Bells was cute enough that it's a harder decision than it should be) thus far. I hope she keeps releasing things.

Rumors: 6.3; nice, but I again can't find anything I want to say about it.

i actually only found her because of that jingle bells cover when i was looking for xmas songs and all, and also trying to find vertical meme/song videos like what hololive was doing a lot then. i also only just found out that she's actually pretty popular on bilibili instead (nearly 100k subs there, or whatever the metric there is meant to be since I still don't know lol). There's actually more than two other songs on her youtube channel for what it's worth, but that bilibili account has a lot more

Ah, thank you for that. I somehow didn't see the little arrow to scroll over to see the other uploads, I'll try to browse those some other day.

Story Waltz: 7. I like it. The story goes over my head, but I do like the autotranslated lyrics.

The corpse thrown by the shelled dead
The chest hurts, the faint memories are blurred
This voice has no trace, this face will be forgotten...

That is a wonderfully bleak verse. And the song itself is good too, obviously, though I'm having trouble finding words tonight--well I usually have trouble, but moreso tonight if that makes sense.

by the way, it's translated now

it's surprisingly similar to the autotranslated lyrics actually

i'll forget this voice, this face

... honestly, that autotranslated one seems better. Odd.

Sorry for the delay, I spent my music time listening to unrelated songs for a couple days.

And by "songs", I mean having rave.dj mashup the Starbusts Berries & Cream commercial with whatever I was thinking of at the time for no reason.

Neko Hacker Song Cover (Post #167): 3.5; I don't really know why, but something about her voice slightly irks me.

Hibiki Ao - Hide and Seek: 8; good cover, I'm always happy to see her again, and I've mentioned a fondness for these sorts of lyrics.

Kurumi Moyo - Neko Mimi Mode: 6. Cute voice and I can't downvote anything involving cat ears, but there aren't many lyrics and it's kinda repetitive.

Nanase Taku - Angel: Well that was different and I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

Inugami Korone - Renai Saiban: 6.3. I don't have any connection to the story/lyrics, but it's catchy enough and I like the video. Would probably rise a bit on repeated listens--I could see myself giving it a mid-7 score on a different day easily enough.

KMNZ LIZ - Ghost City Tokyo: 7.2. Good song choice, first verse is top tier. [slightly later: I think that might be a few tenths of a point too low... let's go to a 7.6 for the moment.]

Ryushen - Mabel: 5. It's one of those "perfectly fine songs that I have no real reaction to" type songs.

I'm going to skip ahead to the song I'm most looking forward to before breaking for the moment.

Misoshita (poemcore tokyo) - Bone Dead Mansion B2F: 6.8. It's certainly not my favorite song of his or even particularly close, but I do appreciate having something more...discordant to listen to. I certainly enjoyed it, though it may be a bit too much and gave me a slight headache... but then I'd totally listen to it again in the future.

memex - Nigatsu no Heitei: 6? It's odd; she has a very pleasing voice, so I enjoy this and I want to give her credit for doing something so different with the song, but I definitely prefer the intensity of the original.

But then I think I'd be more interested in hearing another song from her than the cabs and I don't know what to think,

Ryushen - Tsuki no Waltz: 5. Once again, it's fine, but I'm getting the distinct impression that I'll never be a fan.

Crim Nanakusa - Don't Make Light: 0. Like Candyman before it, it has some value in an Endurance Playlist where I take a group of songs I dislike and try to clear them all in a rhythm game, and I do appreciate extremely low rated songs more than average songs since it's good to experience different things... but also like Candyman, it's quite likely to hit last place at any given ranking.

Enma Ruri - Inner Arts: 5.3; it's slightly better than fine, but I can't find much to say about it.

Kuriyama Yanmi - Yurufuwa Jukai Girl: 7, if I disregard any meaning to the lyrics and just enjoy the song devoid of context.

Manju 1st mini album crossfade: I don't know. I don't think I got enough of any of the four songs to really judge them and I don't really want to give a score to 'a small sample of four songs without context'; I will say I'm not opposed to hearing the full versions at some point though.

Six songs seems like a decent break point for now.

Nan Wei Zheng Xie Ding Fen Jie (Duet Version): This is interesting. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the opening, but the second singer elevates it quite a bit--he's got a nice, operatic voice. I'd like to hear more from him, but I'm not having much luck--his name's Zhi-Cheng Mai, right? Going by the auto-generated info on the song at any rate. (I suppose it could be Johnny Ip, but I feel the first singer would have top billing--also the first singer's voice sounds like more of a "Johnny" to me.)

Well, whichever one he is, I love his voice and the lyrics are interesting. It vaguely reminds me of the duet between John Denver and Placido Domingo (Perhaps Love)--not in any real musical standpoint and certainly not in terms of lyrics, but from a "an operatic singer doing a duet with a more pop-ish singer" & a "I have little musical experience to compare this song to" standpoint:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDra-5DG3JE

I think I'll go with a 7.7 for this one.

Back to VTubers;

Kaheru - Fukashigi no Carte: One of those "6; it's nice" type songs.

StarBear! - Roki: 5.6. I feel like I should like it--they've got a good energy and I think the song suits them well enough, but my reaction is still fairly subdued.

StarBear! - Alien Alien: 5. Like above, only not quite as good. On the surface it seems tailor made for me--the repeated refrain of "I'm an alien"? But... no, I really have no particular response to it.

Sorry to cut this short, especially when I didn't do anything last night, but I'm running quite late.

...also I guess I better go deal with at least one day's worth of songs at the VGM topic before it spirals too far out of control.

Aww, that's too bad. A voice like that deserves to have gone on world tours--but I can at least be thankful he shared his voice for one song and thank you for trying to find more about him.

Tamaki Ukon - Chouchou Musubi: 4. Don't know why, but I'm not really into this one--the original version of the song is better, but probably would only get a 5.something itself.

Tamaki Ukon - Alien Alien: 7. I had low expectations going into this since I wasn't exactly wild for StarBear's version and I think I prefer them as singers, but there's something about this song that makes my toes start tapping subconciously... it's odd, but good. Kinda wish it was longer.

some notes: about kaheru, she's actually a malaysian (fluent in English) girl who is notable for being an amateur artist and also virtual trash (her words). She hasn't been active in a while, but she was still learning Japanese when she debuted, and wasn't thought to have much of a singing voice to match the voice she used in her videos, so in that context, it's a surprise she'd suddenly post a passable, self-animated cover of a nice song like she did. she's also shion lee's biggest fan, and posted it on the same day as when shion finally had her 3D debut (she also made her own model). It was a good (and surprisingly active) day for both of them really

truthfully, i've heard far too many covers of both roki and alien alien to have any reaction to their takes too. songs from nayutalien are overplayed to the point that there probably aren't any that are covered more in the scene (especially alien alien), with the only other contender being roki. On the other hand, I wanted to acknowledge that duo that is singlehandedly making the Re:Act group relevant in 2020 (it's been around a while and had people like Leona Shishigami in it who I posted that Christmas Song cover of from 2018, but has been kind of been totally out of the picture in the scene since then basically), and I also felt it was good to acknowledge those songs for how overwhelmingly popular they are, seeing as I skipped over so many other covers of them due to that sheer non-reaction I have to those songs. Also I wanted to pick at least one Alien Alien cover solely for the sake of contextualising the tamaki version which is very different and a lot more catchy

Tamaki Ukon - Karakuri Pierrot: 9. Probably a bit high, but whatever; it's the best version of that song I've heard, even if it ends too quickly.

Rime - Flowering (With Misumi): 7. Good video, good song, good lyrics. Just general good-ness all around.

Yumeno Shiori/Hizuki Miu - Melancholic: 6. The chorus is surprisingly catchy and I probably should give it a higher score...

...fine, 6.6, but that's as high as I'm willing to go at the moment.

SorAZ - Setsuna Tick Code: 6-ish. Nice seeing AZKi again, but like most songs featuring her, it just hits the "nice" level as opposed to the "I'm going to continue talking about the song from now until the end of time like Fake.Fake.Fake" level.

...and yes, I know, I said I'd try to stop comparing everything she's involved in to that song.

Yancharo - Ii Aru Fanclub: This song had a fairly terrible opening (that thumping beat...ugghh...), but it improved drastically once the singing actually started. And I certainly wasn't expecting the song to randomly pay tribute to Leslie Cheung, which was nice.

Let's go with an 8 here.

Tamaki Ukon - Lost my music: When the song opened with 15 seconds of silence, I expected the entire video to silent as a joke. I think I'm starting to like him; 7.

Decent progress for one day, off to get the three songs at the other topic to at least keep the backlog stable.

ViANKIE - RE:I AM: 6. I think this is the first time anyone posted anything Gundam related in one of my topics, so that's nice. Unfortunately, I don't have much attachment to this song or Gundam Unicorn in general--never saw it, but I've played enough games featuring the story that I know the basics (Super Robot Wars V & SD Gundam G Generation Genesis both reenacted all the biggest story events). Her voice is still good though.

HCHI/Enma Ruri - Slow Downer: 2.

Tokino Sora/Tenjin Kotone - Connect: 6. A bit too happy and optimistic, but still good.

Tokino Sora/Tenjin Kotone - Ojamajo Carnival!!: 6.3; that was kinda weird.

Kumonoue Yumemi - Tenjou Yuru Chima Girl: A very tentative 9, with a note that the ranking would probably drop drastically on a relisten. I'm not having any luck finding anything about this song and my reaction to the song is...unique. It's mostly relaxing and borderline trance inducing, but that black and white portion of the video around the three minute mark is unsettling for reasons I'm not quite sure of. It's an incredibly bizarre experience that leaves me uncertain about anything on this plane of existence.

Unfortunately, I don't think that feeling would hold up on repeated listens and it would collapse instantly if I ever did find anything out about the song. But in terms of first impressions, it was one of the strongest in this topic, so you should probably just leave it at that.

Hoshino Mea - Suisei: 8. It is the good kind of happy & energetic.

Kuruyo Sigure - Melancholic: 6.5. It's odd; I like the music more on this one and there's a chance I might actually like her more than either of the singers in the duet, but I have a slight bias in favor of the duet anyway.

Kousaka Mia - Yume, Tokidoki...: 4.8, nothing I particularly want to say tonight.

Nemukawa Yumena - Vtuber no Torisetsu: 4. Her voice is cute enough, but I dislike the lyrics and the music isn't exactly outstanding--it's fine, but that's about it.

QKiki - Wasuremono: 8.Something. I really like the mellow vibe this song gives off--though I'm having trouble finding anything about the song and can only judge based on the music, I really like it and doubt having lyrics would help any.

Else - Butter-Fly: 4. Perhaps thankfully, like Brave Heart, I associate the song more with the PSP Digimon Adventure game than the anime & this cover doesn't really bring anything to mind other than 'I prefered the original version' and 'I should play that PSP game again someday'.

I may or may not get a few more songs in later tonight, but as usual, I had a bit of time this morning.

chances are basically every song you've said this about from the recent batch is because they're not covers. this one's on booth for $5, by the way. I liked it quite a bit too so I got it myself

oh yeah, speaking of original songs, there was this 50+ song album released last night that was basically just this project where 50 vtubers collaborate with about as many artists to have these original songs that they otherwise probably wouldn't have. I mean, most of them don't even have 1k subs. Anyway, that's called Reverse Real and I haven't picked it up myself yet but I'm probably going to.

Yeah, but even some of the newer original songs pop up with the Japanese lyrics (typically on lyrical nonsense, IIRC) if you search for them or you'll find some blog or news post advertising the song. /Wasuremono is the perfect blend of new & obscure that it's hard to find evidence of the song existing at all. If you don't copy all the text from the link's name, you don't get anything (blame the unrelated Vocaloid song taking up space if you just search for Wasuremono by itself).

Kaf - Ginga to Mimanbyou na Futari: 7. Good song, much better with her voice than the Vocaloid.

Towa Kiseki - Kiseki: 5.2. I have a surprisingly strong negative reaction to the original (it's probably only around a 2), so the score is actually pretty decent for what she was working with.

I forgot to turn off autoplay and it started another song of hers automatically, so I'm going to end the morning talking about it for a minute.

Towa Kiseki - Goodbye:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z32TCUTZ7gI

7. I like the backing music quite a bit (I think I wouldn't mind an instrumental) & it strikes an interesting mix being sad about saying goodbye ("You say all storms pass with time, but my heart isn't that strong"), optimistic about meeting again, and weird ("Umbrella of Hope" does kinda work with the storm metaphor, but I think I'll always laugh at how absurd it sounds).

Certainly not an all-time favorite or anything, but it was certainly worth letting the song play.

i'd forgotten to share any past covers and songs with her, yeah goodbye is good. generally it's just been bad timing, like constantly posting stuff on the same day as kaf and all

as for the status on original songs, i suppose it doesn't help that a decent number of ones i post are actually popular (kaf/rime/etc) or on known albums (virtuareal) or from people known outside the vtuber scene (metro). i feel this is the proper status quo for most of them, both in its case and the Kumonoue Yumemi one (which may have the dead wrong title, granted. i'm not confident about that one)

Tokino Sora - Nyannyanteki Uchuuron: 7. It makes me feel loopy.

Tamaki Ukon - Betsu no hito no kanojo ni natta yo: 6. It's far from my favorite song of his, but I like his style.

Kami - Melty Land Nightmare: More than 7, less than 8. Unsure on an exact value (also unsure on this differs from "7.Something", but it certainly does). Considering the name, I was expecting a terrible joke song, so this was a nice surprise.

Fukuya Master - Balalaika: 4. Good try, but it didn't really work for me.

Miyazaki Hanasaki - Doremi Fallon: 2.3 ; something about the instruments puts me really on edge, like I want to start growling at the song until it goes away.

Ribon Himekuma - Calendar Girl: 5-ish. No particular reaction. The name of course causes me to remember Neil Sedaka's Calender Girl, which is naturally completely unrelated but has the same name:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZMyvzbc0U4

Not that it would have done better--for all my nostalgia for 50s & 60s music and the fact that I've heard that song a hundred times, and haven't heard it in an incredibly long time, it's probably only around a 3. I never actually cared for that song--don't think I've ever been much of a fan of Neil Sedaka for that matter? Actually, I don't know what else he did back in the sixties...

*checks*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M584bP_FeE

Ohh, alright I like that song. It was even popular enough to be quoted by Garfield! It's an easy 8 (though largely for nostalgia, it likely wouldn't fare too well if it was my first time hearing it), but Neil Sedaka's Calender Girl can go away forever now.

...of course by now I've totally forgotten what the song I was supposed to talk about sounded like. </.<

Virtual Neko & Fukuya Master: 8.5. I was a bit worried about clicking on another song after losing myself in nostalgia, as I didn't think it would compare favorably... but I wanted to squeal as soon as I soon as I saw them together. Great song.

also, funny thing about that Voice song (the neko+master collab). even after i posted it, i ended up playing it on loop in this topic for about 2 hours straight. it's just really solid

Going to alternate between groups of songs for a moment, so neither of you has to wait for me to get through all of the others songs.

[Later Edit: That was written this morning, I worked on this throughout the day until I listened to five songs from both of you. Post has been reorganized so all of your songs are in a row instead of going back and forth in the order I actually listened to them in.]

Let's Go Crazy: What happened to the intro on this version? The sermon was the best part (and I say that as someone very actively non-religious). Full version of the song is a 9, but I'd probably drop this shortened version to a 7.

Strangely enough, in spite of literally opening with a sermon and taking about the afterworld, I never knew de-elevator was supposed to be Satan (or that it was "de-elevator" and not "the elevator", at least according to certain lyric sites).

Diggy Diggy Hole: 7. I'm not a fan of Minecraft or dwarves, but it's far more catchy than I expected from the ridiculous name & it did make me smile. I wouldn't mind coming back to this song again later.

Color Wheel: 6-ish. I don't usually go for lengthy, instrumental, musical journeys. I can appreciate the quality and skill involved, but at some point around the three minute mark my mind usually starts wandering aimlessly--the exceptions tend to be songs that inspire a weird dream sequence of some kind (and there's never any sort of logic as to what's going to trigger those) or does something so weird musically that it completely overwhelms me. This is a quality song, but not particularly overwhelming or hallucination-y.

SpaceBalls: Somewhere between 7 and 8, probably. I've actually never seen the film, but I love villain songs and 80s music (especially stereotypical 80s music), so this is very much my type of jam even without any context.

STUNNER: 4.5? It's good to have something so different than everything else in the topic and some of the lyrics are good ("You're just a sheep in a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing's clothing"), but I'm still not a fan.

Sugar Song and Bitter Step: 6-ish. 6s don't usually inspire much in the way of write-ups and this is no exception.

Night Journey: 7.5. The story/lyrics don't really do much for me, but the song fits her voice perfectly.

Kagome: 9.7. I...don't really want to discuss it right now; there'll probably be another official ranking topic this winter, so if you really insist, you can re-nom it over there. I suspect I'd probably eventually give in and write something (most songs got something by the third trip through the nomination list at any rate).

Nyannyanteki Uchuuron (Izuru): 5. I vastly prefer the other version of this song.

Nyannyanteki Uchuuron (KMNZ): 4; I had to go back and listen to the first version after this to make sure I didn't just vastly overrate it, but no, I still like that one. There's something about Sora's version, in the music and/or her voice, that feels like running around on all fours meowing and pouncing stuffed animals. These two versions do not have that same sort of feeling, meow.

...I tried to be more subtle and just say "loopy" instead of something really weird last time, meow, but apparently it's too late at night to pretend to be normal.

And on that note, I'm going to break for the night.

Ultra Tornado: 4. It's short and doesn't leave much of an impression.

Crystal: Unranked. It's very close to...something. Like I can almost picture it--some really weird game that's somehow a cross between Chrono Trigger & Anodyne--but the images are too jumbled and glitchy to really make out.

...still, it's been a long time since I had any sort of experience like that, so this almost feels like the sort of thing Mycro might have nominated [EDIT: Or to be more precise "it makes me feel the type of way a song nominated by Mycro would"] and it's definitely a positive score... I just don't know exactly how positive. Under ideal conditions I'd come back to it a few times over the course of a month or two and have a few other similar songs to directly compare it to...

[EDIT: Well this was definitely the best song of the night, but I don't know if I'd take it over Kagome or not... let's stick with a vague "higher than 9" score.]

Yoruiro Trip: 8 and your guess why would probably be better than mine; I've listened to it three times in a row and have no particular idea why it's an 8. And you'd think listening to it three times in a row would imply that it's more than an 8, but I feel quite comfortable with that score.

Dreamless Dreams: 6.5. If there are other covers of this song, I think I'd like to hear them. I like some of the lyrics and I still like VIANKIE's voice, but there's some sort of disconnect for me somewhere where I feel like the score is lower than it should be.

Someone Like You (Cover): 4; credit for pulling off a completely English song and sounding natural with it, but I don't think I actually want to hear this song again regardless of who is performing it.

Dramaturgy: 3. Yeah, I like her. Yeah, I like some of these lyrics. No, I don't think the song really worked for her.

Kaf - Anata no Yoru ga Akeru Made: 6. No comment.

SALLA.R - Romance no Kamisama: 5.5. It's fine and I might be being a bit overly harsh on it.

Ghost in Every Town: 9.Something; it's higher than a regular 9, but lower than Kagome (9.7) so... somewhere in there. Great voice and the exact right amount of bleakness that I'm looking for.

Sweet Talk: 4; I don't think this sort of club music is really my thing and it has the extreme misfortune of having come up immediately following Ghost in Every Town & Crystal (I'm still alternating songs, even if I'm organizing the write-ups by poster for convenience)... I mean, it is nice to have something different, but... well, perhaps I'll give it another try some other day when it isn't immediately following two songs it can't possibly compete against.

Lights (Bassnectar Remix): [started at 3, then revised to a 4, then to a 5, then listened to again and went up to a 6.]; I really like the original version of Lights and I like very low tones like this remix adds, but I don't think I like them together like this... whenever she's singing, I'm reminded that I'd either prefer listening to the original or to an instrumental version of this.

Though remember that I completely hated the SiivaGunner version of Radical City the first time I heard it, but it went up to a 10 on repeated listens. It's possible this remix would also grow on me after I've had time to properly adjust to it--though there's obviously no way of telling.

*after listening to it again*

Yeah, it is starting to grow on me a bit already. Score ends at 6 for the moment.

Lesser Harm (Instrumental): 4. It feels Terminator-esque, doesn't it? This is the 'part of the movie where the killer robot appears unharmed after a large explosion' song, though it's not as oppressive or terror inducing as I'd like.

Soldiers of the Sea: 2. It might work better with context, but I know nothing of the game other than its premise, so this is just some sort of atmospheric background music with a lot of bell ringing. Which apparently is not a thing I like much.

RPD Track 1: 3.5 ; I do like atmospheric horror tracks, but this one isn't very oppressive. For a better example, try Wreckage of the Mad Experiment:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szQkCtHze8c

I'm not going to say it's an all-time favorite or anything (probably around a 7-ish), but I love the vibe it gives off. Perfect song to go with the title.

Pumping Iron Power: Well, it's definitely the best video of this topic and would be perfect gym music for a training montage, but I'm not really into muscles... 6.

Date Ayanon - Starlight Parade: 5, maybe slightly lower (like 4.8 or something). It's one of those things that quickly fades into the background without being consciously recognized as music.

Lady Hanakaden/Shirokaden Hakushaku - Reunion: What?

...no, seriously, what? This is a really bleak song (I read the lyrics as ending in a suicide pact and, judging by other people's comments, I'm not the only one)...covered by an appliance mascot...for Valentines Day? I thought 'surely, they changed some of the lyrics or something, right??' but...no...no, they don't appear to have changed anything.

Take a very confused 7, along with a note that I prefer the Vocaloid version at least slightly (Well, the one on YouTube anyway. I haven't gone to hear Miku's version yet, though I highly appreciate the meta-ness of the two versions of the songs existing on entirely different platforms.)

Yoshina - Hajimete no Koi ga Owaru Toki (hiphop arrange cover): 5.5. A nice, simple song... which is some rather severe tonal whiplash after the last track, but I'll take it.

Aki Rosenthal - Chocolate Pandemic: 2. I think I'm going to count this as a joke song that I didn't care for.

I'll come back for the others tomorrow. I want to take a break.

EDIT: I guess the composer himself (Harumaki Gohan) actually sang on the version of Reunion on YouTube? Neat.

I also went back to listen to the Miku version, which is easily the weakest of the three. Not that it really matters.

Hm. I hadn't actually looked into the song myself, that self-cover's pretty interesting. I also didn't realise it was the same guy who did Melty Land Nightmare. Neat.

Utakata Shirabe - Don't leave me-short ver-: I'm going to come back and listen to this a second time after scoring the other songs from this post. It's a bit strange--the backing music does a lot of things I normally dislike, but I think whispered singing is one of my things so I think I probably like this?

Hisui Sena/Paule Clown - Love Potion: 6.3. It's cute.

Kamiki Hasami - chocolate box: 6. It's also cute, but not as cute as the previous song (and certainly not half as cute as Untitled PHYZ Song, but what is?)

Valentine Kiss (A): As soon as they said "love me do", I got the Beatles song stuck in my head and I had to pause to go listen to that track before I could focus on this song. Not a fan of that particular Beatles song for the record.

Aaanywho...6.5-ish. Again it's cute, but without any particular attachment to romance, kissing, Valentine's day in general, it has a hard time getting a really great score. Possible score would go up slightly after it's had time to get stuck in my head on a regular basis.

Valentine Kiss (B): 8. Fukuyamaster's part is obviously a 10, but I (as usual) don't think the others really compared to him.

Don't Leave Me (Revisited): I'm going to go with something like "7.2-ish" here. It's too intriguing to drop below a 7 at any rate.

Kaf - Watashi Ronri: I almost forgot to click this link and... I know I've listened to this before.

*after going back over the entire topic*

...Weird. I don't remember going out of my way to listen to any Kaf songs you didn't link, but she does pop up on my suggested videos regularly so I might have clicked one some day? Seems to be the most likely explanation as my comments on it should have existed somewhere in this topic, even if something happened to the post where you nominated it.

9.Something. I'm glad to hear it again, regardless of how I heard it in the first place.

you know, it's funny because i thought the same thing on my end. i was honestly quite surprised when i could find no traces of having shared it or gotten impressions from you on it

also, not gonna lie, i would've totally scored valentine kiss a 1. it is a quintessential example of a valentines song i do not care for, which is why i also skipped the one hibiki ao was involved with even while dumping like 20 covers then. the only reason i shared these ones was the sheer joke appeal of the latter version. i consider it a travesty that only the former one is translated
