chances are basically every song you've said this about from the recent batch is because they're not covers.

Yeah, but even some of the newer original songs pop up with the Japanese lyrics (typically on lyrical nonsense, IIRC) if you search for them or you'll find some blog or news post advertising the song. /Wasuremono is the perfect blend of new & obscure that it's hard to find evidence of the song existing at all. If you don't copy all the text from the link's name, you don't get anything (blame the unrelated Vocaloid song taking up space if you just search for Wasuremono by itself).

Kaf - Ginga to Mimanbyou na Futari: 7. Good song, much better with her voice than the Vocaloid.

Towa Kiseki - Kiseki: 5.2. I have a surprisingly strong negative reaction to the original (it's probably only around a 2), so the score is actually pretty decent for what she was working with.

I forgot to turn off autoplay and it started another song of hers automatically, so I'm going to end the morning talking about it for a minute.

Towa Kiseki - Goodbye:

7. I like the backing music quite a bit (I think I wouldn't mind an instrumental) & it strikes an interesting mix being sad about saying goodbye ("You say all storms pass with time, but my heart isn't that strong"), optimistic about meeting again, and weird ("Umbrella of Hope" does kinda work with the storm metaphor, but I think I'll always laugh at how absurd it sounds).

Certainly not an all-time favorite or anything, but it was certainly worth letting the song play.
