One of the reporters had a history of tweeting out a DV Hotline anytime the Astros brought Osuna into a game. Or something along those lines anyway.

So Taubman thought he was getting back at them for...standing up against DV?

The other explanations for his motivation don't really make any sense without some further context that I haven't seen to this point unless the guy is just socially awkward or something.

He was being happy they got osuna, but he was bragging about it in such a way to female reporters like "suck it, this is what you get for not liking that we brought in osuna"

He wasn't joking at all, he was deliberately making light of osunas transgressions and throwing it in the reporters faces

Which yes, makes no sense because osuna blew it, but really that just means he went out of his way to be a dick even more.

Because if he did, he should be in jail, and not on the team.

But if he didn't, he was the victim of a malicious false accusation and was unjustly suspended and everyone involved should be taking every opportunity to support and defend him.

They already did when they acquired him. They assert that he did, but he served his suspension and is appropriately remorseful. They cant put him in jail even if they wanted to.

None of that excuses yelling at people specifically that youre proud you hired a domestic abuser just to piss them off because its a hot topic for them.

Michael Vick has served his time and shouldnt be in jail and should have been allowed to continue his career the way he did. It still would be a fireable offense for the 2009 Eagles GM to go purposefully yell at animal abuse activists about how great it is that they signed the guy that pisses them off.

The more complicated version of it is that until MLB abolishes its archaic blackout rules and makes better deals for national broadcasts viewership will continue to fall. They let both Fox and ESPN pretty much pick what they want, and with Fox they allow them to banish their broadcasts to cable in favor of college football.

oh and of course, its gotten even worse with the early rounds of the playoffs banished to cable and the even more ill-advised deal that continues to exist with TBS(I'm sure the TBS ads alone turn viewers away).
