Ok so one series is going exactly as expected so far and the other... Uh.. It seems like one team sold it's soul to Satan for an unstoppable murderous rage in what felt like a series that could go either way.

Felt like the Nats with a far superior starting staff had to be big favorites here.

Nats were the favorite but I don't think anyone anticipated the Cardinals would just roll over and die after how they played against Atlanta.

It's just such a shame for the Nationals that they may have to wait so long for the Yanks/Stros winner because this momentum would've been hugely beneficial.

The last two teams to sweep their LCS opponents without ever trailing a game both lost in the World Series.

I know a lot of you here are huge Yankees fans, but I'm assuming you can admit that Yankees fans throwing water bottles and baseballs into the outfield is a no class move. Yelling at players is one thing, doing something that could injure them is another.

The stuff on the field was souvenir baseballs, and water bottles. How is that okay? The Yankees PA announcer had to tell people to stop throwing stuff or they'd risk ejection.

The only time I can remember something like that happening en masse was when the Braves got screwed in that one wild card game a few years ago.

Houston fans don't know enough about baseball to have that kind of anger. 90% of the crowd are moms who bring their kids to the game like it's the county fair.

No I really think this Yankees team bounces back and survives and thrives the way a championship team does. That's been my opinion since like May. NY has to win 2 out of Greinke/Verlander/Cole. That sounds daunting but sounds like the stuff that will really make things that much more annoying when they do it. That rain delay felt like a huge benefit for Houston, which will just feed into this Yanks team imo. bunch of savages and all that.

I'll probably come off of that feeling if NY loses tonight. I'd still feel like it's a coin toss. I just think they overcome adversity.

Tonight is 100% must-win. Tomorrow against Verlander is also winnable, just need the bats to step up (and Stanton to be in the lineup). Then I do feel fairly good about the aforementioned short-rest Cole panic start.
