It's Teruteru? Well I'm okay with this development.

Teruteru is being accused of murder and all he wants is to get some girl to lick his sweat. Can we have him executed even if he's not the killer?

Ibuki has a point, though. Teruteru has a cool voice. Kudos to his voice actor. And now he has a funny accent. Because.

Mikan's extremely embarassing position has an use after all. Pretty clever one, actually. And ironic that Teruteru was the one who never got to see it.

I don't know how Monokuma can eat meat but the scene is funny so I'm okay with it.

This version of BTB is somehow worse than the previous one. The way the dots move on the screen hurts my eyes.

On the other hand, the comic book thing is even better. There are hints now, which helps with the ambiguous panels, and the sequence doesn't start until you have gotten everything right. On the other hand, there are more wrong panels, so it's not exactly easier. But it's fairer and I like that.

Holy shit, Teruteru was trying to save everyone. Damn game, don't make me feel bad for him now.

As for Nagito, it seems he's some dark version of Ultimate Hope. Like Makoto gone wrong. He wants to prove hope is strong by killing people and making the kids overcome hardships. And possibly get executed in the process. That's a level of craziness I wasn't expecting, and makes me think he's not the mastermind after all. He's a third party. And he's going to last all game, I think. Will he get a redemption story? Who knows.

And this nutjob is gonna live while Teru will be executed. Damnn, that's a dark way to start the game.

Byakuya died like a bro, protecting this ingrate Nagito.

No, it wasn't to save the rest, it was to come back to his sick mom. Which might be even sadder. Godanmit.

Dude just got boiled in a volcano. I'm impressed.

With someone like Nagito around, I'm not sure we even need a Mastermind. Maybe Despair is managing the island from afar, and in the end, Nagito will be the villain to defeat, not Monokuma. Would be a nice twist to this series.

I already do that, I think I'll even break the trial in parts too. 4 hours is too much gaming time, I'm not a teenage anymore.

But it's fine, I broke AA cases in parts too.

Cool case. Definitely harder than usual. I didn't really see Teruteru coming, was betting the game would try to milk his pervert jokes for longer. It didn't, and that's a good decision. In the end, his story was so sad (and his dubbing was so funny) he'll probably avoid the last place of my ranking. Right now Hyoko is my least liked character, she's basically Toko 2.0.

Nagito is this game's biggest surprise, I can see why he is so popular. Everything will be unpredictable with him around, because he's even crazier than GJ or Byakuya were in the first game.

Meanwhile, Kazuichi, my killer pic, is starting to develop a personality, if only as someone who is in love with Sonia. This could lead to a tragic story involving them. While Chiaki, my mastermind pick, is becoming more likable too. Right now I think it's more likely we don't have a mastermind among the 16.

In English Teruteru is played by Todd Haberkorn. You may know him as Baccanos Firo Prochainezo or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhoods Ling. Hes also Natsu in Fairy Tail. Those are probably his most known anime roles if I had to guess

And Nagito talks soooo slowly too. I feel like skipping him sometimes.

When I was praising the voice acting core of the game earlier, I was thinking of knocking Nagito's VA a bit too, but figured I'd wait until you at least got to this part to bring it up.

I'm thinking, maybe Hajime is the Ultimate Despair, and this game is a role reversal in the sense Despair is supposed to defeat Hope. Maybe the series is going for a "balance of light and darkness" theme. Hajime does seem more pessimistic than Makoto. It's possible he was part of the terrorist organization of Junko but he got his memory erased by the Hope faction. Maybe they don't even know he was another Despair member infiltrated in that group of 16.

Then Najito, who is a rogue Hope agent, decided to make the game to prove hope is superior in a twisted way. Or Despair themselves did, and Hajime is going to betray them after he recovers his memories.

Ikoroshia. The localization goes with "Homicide." Unless the PC version changed it, the title of the song currently playing should be displayed on-screen somewhere. Want to say... top-right?

I disagree with Seabass pretty strongly. However, by the time the game is over, I imagine you'll only barely remember Byakuya was even there. 5 more chapters and a bunch of plot twists is a long way to go. I do think it's amazing how they made me actually kind of appreciate Teruteru before they killed him, when up until that moment, I was eagerly looking forward to him getting offed.

It's more like Byakuya's presence in this game is the conclusion of what was the best character arc in the series so far.

Like, pick everything I said about him being a well-written asshole, give him a timeskip and turn him into a likable mentor. It's hard for a character to hit both "love to hate" and "just love" extremes so well.

Spent some time playing the Monomi mini-game. It's actually pretty fun, for an action mini-game in a mystery game.

Nagito moving his mouth super fast is creepy af.

I'm thinking, Nagito didn't actually try to kill anyone in the last case, did he? He set a fake murder to bait Teruteru into killing him, and he wanted to die. He didn't because Byakuya saved him.

People making fun of Hyori for smelling bad is a development I approve. It's what I'd call karma.

Free time. Chiaki next. The game somehow lets me enter her cottage. She has a poster of a videogame where you kill Monokumas with a gun. I want it.

Kazuichi's master plan is to spy on the girls naked. And here I am thinking it's plot. But let me guess, we are going to that cottage on 2nd island and it's going to become a murder scene. And the stuff from Monomi about them not being allowed to change clothers in there will become relevant to the trial.

We get busted, and Mikan accidentally lets a burst of anger go out. It even sounds like a different voice. Does she have an alternate personality or something?

Hyoko came running from the beach. It's corpse time. Lots of options, I believe: Sonia, Mahiru, Fuyu, Akane, Peko, or Chiaki, considering the ones who should be here (and Fuyu who just disappeared). I'm gonna bet on Mahiru, she is way too involved with the plot.

I approve of Chiaki on bikini. In fact, let's propose she spends the rest of the game like that.

I stopped playing V3 after case 2 as well. Not out of hatred for the game or anything, but another game came out and I just kinda forgot about it. I came back to it after a year or so, and was treated to quite the experience. Keep going, swordz, it's worth it.

Nagito.exe has crashed so Chiaki is taking the role of new Kyoko. At least partially. She is not as smart as Kyoko, but this cast seems smarter on average so they can pick up the slack.

So the game depicts stuff that actually happened. I'm gonna guess the "Ending Prize" is giving the memories of the school life back. Which made the killer remember they wanted revenge, or something. Clever.

It's that file Fuyu was carrying, right? He totally did it, huh.

And apparently he's Guy F. The game is hinting at Fuyu so hard I'm now thinking it's too obvious, too. Then again it's also hinting at Hyori so at least I have to pick between the two.

In any case, it seems Girl E murdered Fuyu's sister, and Girl D, who is probably Mahiru, exposed her. But Mahiru is the one who got killed this time, so something doesn't fit.

Maybe Mahiru died trying to protect Girl E from Fuyu's wrath? But then the mystery is too easy, because Girl E will testify.

Nagito is going to be responsible for every murder in the game, isn't he?

So Girl E is already dead. It's the "Sato" mentioned in the credits, I guess. Why would Fuyu want to kill Mahiru in that case, then?

I love how the internal videogame murder scene looks more realistic than the one from DR2.

Fuyu thought Mahiru killed his sister. Only thing that's left is for him to scream "I did it". But I feel like this game is about to throw a million curveballs at me.

I jus noticed one thing: the motives in this game are basically the same as DR1's. Case 1 is personal connections (wanting to go back to mom). Case 2 is past regrets. So 2-3's motive is probably related to greed, and 2-4's is betrayal.

When Nagito is not being a nutjob he's pretty good assistant.

And... the mask belongs to a serial killer. Here we go again!

Sonia yelling the serial killer's catchhrase is amazing. Never change, Sonia.

We have now estabilished that Hiyoko and Fuyu are obvious af. So obvious that even Hajime is doubting it. Sonia brings up Sparkling Justice, and nobody listens to her. So that's probably the right path.

But who? There is no specific evidence to any other characters, afaik. I'm gonna make a wild guess and say it's Mikan, because she has twice hinted that she has a dark side before.

When you plan out the perfect crime but forget to get the color of the gummies right. #danganronpafeelings

This one is probably the most "how the hell are you suppose to figure THAT out" thing in the entire series honestly
